Look, studying the culture for 5 - 6 years i've learned that there are two types of artists in Hip Hop. There are people like hopsin and logic that rap about their life struggle and what they had to go through. Then there is the club/party type music. Rapping about money, drugs and partying and women. At first i was like....umm that's the wrong thing to be rapping about.
But then i was like, wait...nobody wants to go into a club and party with a song that makes you think about life! Rapping about your struggle is good and so is making party music. There are times and places for different kinds of songs. VICK ONE...was trying to tell Logic to change.....but Logic is a rapper who makes struggle songs...not party songs. Don't try to change him....you guys get me? Because he's not that type of artist

As crazy and staged as this seems, I think this Vick guy has a point on one thing. Logic does, at some points, sound like other rappers. The second part of the song Under Pressure is great, lyrical and my favorite part of the album, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it sound an unoriginal amount like "Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst." Everything from the flow, the changing perspectives and response with the last verse, the serious tone is Kendrick. Even the two part format of the track is exactly like "Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst." Growing Pains III has a skit in it that is very similar to the skit in Good Kid, Maad City where Kendrick's homie gets shot down from a gang. Logic soungs exactly like Childish Gambino in Driving Ms.Daisy. His flow and even vocal tone and pitch sound exactly like Childish Gambino. Logic has plenty of originality with songs like Gang Related and is technecially one of the best rappers I've ever heard, but this album isn't %100 Logic. I like the album, it's well done, but if Logic keeps putting albums out like this, I don't know that he'll be in any top ten rappers ever lists.
he has best hip hop album of the year already lol, he was also inspired by kendrick, j cole, drake, and older rappers like tribe called quest, biggie, project pat. this is why he sounds like them, but he does it in his own way, i remember people use to listen to his music more until they found out what he looks like, that prejudice and just wrong, not saying your racist but this is the same shit i hear over and over again.
