Learned so much technique from this that it made it easier when I moved on to simpler songs, but also took me so long to actually learn it well because it was not supposed to be for beginners.

Hi :) It's not, a waltz is 3/4 time (3 beats to a bar), this piece has horrible timing - changes from 6/8 (six quavers) to 9/8 to 4/4 to 3/8 to 6/8 to 3/4 to 2/4... Literally some of the hardest time signatures I've tried, but sounds so beautiful when it's right! hope that helps
I do not like Michael Nyman. He has no heart !! He plays like an automaton !!! He knows all the notes and where to put them all, but that is not what music is about !!!! Dios mio !! Dios mio !!!
