I have been searching for this. I have this song stuck in my head since I was a kid. Today my friend said about watching the movie over the weekend and played the soundtrack. I’ve been looking for 15 years. It’s as beautiful as I remember
Does this sound to you like a regular piece of music ? No, I am sure the pianist received a divine inspiration to spread a message of love , because it generates authentic and universal feelings.
There are musicians who put heart and soul into their music, and there are ones who mastermind technically genius works. Micheal Nyman is one of those rare few who can do both.
Used to play this piece when I was 15yrs old and became OBSESSED🤩🎶 Then my cousins took an interest and learnt it too. The heart was definitely filled with pleasure.🥰💖 Now days I would barely be able to play it unless I taught myself all over again....but I need a piano in the house first. Damn I miss those days🥺💯
"Above the lakes, above the vales, The mountains and the woods, the clouds, the seas, Beyond the sun, beyond the ether, Beyond the confines of the starry spheres, My soul, you move with ease, And like a strong swimmer in rapture in the wave You wing your way blithely through boundless space With virile joy unspeakable. Fly far, far away from this baneful miasma And purify yourself in the celestial air, Drink the ethereal fire of those limpid regions As you would the purest of heavenly nectars. Beyond the vast sorrows and all the vexations That weigh upon our lives and obscure our vision, Happy is he who can with his vigorous wing Soar up towards those fields luminous and serene, He whose thoughts, like skylarks, Toward the morning sky take flight - Who hovers over life and understands with ease The language of flowers and silent things!" *C. Baudelaire - "Elevation" - Les fleurs du mal*
@@rebeccapolanco It wa the piece of poetry I discussed at my high school final exam. I fell in love with it the moment I read id. And it fits so good with this song. I'm very glad you apreciate it.
I know the dynamics of why the 'official' version of this tune snaps shut after a scant 2 minutes but it is a luscious pleasure to hear a 'completed' version of this masterpiece
for school we had to show a video of our favorite film. i chose this video. some boys asked me what film i chose and they made fun of me. at the end of the video they where in tears.
It's so fucked up, because I used to be able to play this some 10 years ago or so. Haven't played the piano pretty much since and for about a weeks ago I actually tried to play some at my friends house and I could not remember to play shit.... It sucks I gave it up.... Piano/keyboard and the violin are my favorite instruments...
That’s how I was with the intterstellar theme, used to be able to play it but I stopped playing nearly as much for a few years. I recently got a hammer action keyboard and it’s really tough to play. You just have to relearn it
Hi :) It's not, a waltz is 3/4 time (3 beats to a bar), this piece has horrible timing - changes from 6/8 (six quavers) to 9/8 to 4/4 to 3/8 to 6/8 to 3/4 to 2/4... Literally some of the hardest time signatures I've tried, but sounds so beautiful when it's right! hope that helps
I do not like Michael Nyman. He has no heart !! He plays like an automaton !!! He knows all the notes and where to put them all, but that is not what music is about !!!! Dios mio !! Dios mio !!! I hope he makes love better than he fiddles with his instrument !!! Very mechanical !! Very mechanical !! No Soul !! No heart !! No passion !! No Love !!! Nothing !! Just the notes !! And lots and lots and lots of them !! Just the notes ! But no pudding !!! No pudding !! ✨💖✨
I Will never forgot this piece of music or the film. What an incredible bit of work.
One of most beautiful pieces of music I have ever had the privilege of listening to.
Of any piece of music I've ever listened to ,the heart asks pleasure first is most symbolic and emotionally poignant.
Here here!!

This movie and piano will never be forgotten. I thought about the meaning of the word ’beautiful’.

I used to play this for hours on the piano. I'd close my eyes and get lost in the emotion.

Same here🙌🏽💜 but that was a long time ago! I'd be very rusty now😅
The best part is this piece of music getting more and related to your soul the more you listen and feel like life journey music.

When you see the piano playing itself it tells you that your heart is singing even though sometimes it may be sad

Never too late to re learn it. I'm in the same boat. This is the goal for the next two months, to play it again.
Toby Gunn agreed! just do it, or you might regret it.
Don't give up. The piece is worth it.
I'm the same... used to play advanced piano and 10 years later i can't remember a single thing. Now 20 years later and i want to learn it again.

Today is Holly Hunter's birthday, congratulations.
