Pontiac was my GM car. Im a Ford guy but a 76 Trans Am was my first new car. 6700 dollars September 21 1975. I kept that car for 18 years and it still looked almost as good as new when I sold it.
It's impressive that R/2 made the effort to add the new parts to this kit. Leaving out the 8-lugs and the GP Grille would be so easy. A hat tip to the R2 "gang" for going the extra mile with this kit! It's hard to close the box with all of those parts in there.
1962 I was a sixteen year old who could FINALLY drive. I was head over heals for the "new" Pontiacs. Looking futuristic with those 8 lug alloy wheels and that huge 421 engine. I did NOT get a new one for my Birthday - like I had wished for. But a buddy's mom got a new white one and we got to ride in it from time to time - serious fun. Chris, you've brought my memories into the spotlight with this bright red example - fine job. Thanks for sharing!
@@jameslarosa2396 It was the frame that was referred to as swiss cheese and those cars were some of the rare and legendary Super Duty editions, I love Pontiacs too.
This kit has always been great. I don't care much for Pontiac 8 lug wheels, but nice addition. Great they added everything into one kit. Was always hoping they do a Grand Prix off this tooling.
Did you notice that AMT is providing extras for the tiny parts, like lenses? I assume they are thinking about us "five thumbs" builders who lose those parts easily? Thank you Round2!
You know Chris I always appreciate your videos because you always keep it fun! Keep on making great content, stay safe & happy. And we'll see you in the next video!
Very nice build. The three tone interior is great. Wonderful work on a wonderful kit. Round 2 has done a great job with this re-issue. New parts, great decals, and sweet tires. Thanks for sharing.
Very nicely done. This Pontiac has been a favorite of mine since its very first release back in the 90s. My most recent build of it(1962 Daytona 500 winner) was probably the 8th or 9th time I built it.
As an old school model builder from long ago, I appreciate a lot of your videos. What I also appreciate is your musical selection. Have you posted links to what plays on as you're busy assembling? Thanks.
I cant believe you didnt this engine pontiac blue/green!! No, I dont care, love your videos, will be getting this kit kit love it! Another AWESOME VIDEO, THANK YOU!!!
I had one of the earlier releases of this car, the Custom version that came out in the early 2000s. I didn't like the choice of wheels that car came with and the decal sheet comprised only three license plates, so I'm liking the look of this reissue. Other than that it was a very well detailed and really nice kit to build.
Nice touch on style. Better than most modelers. Really. Not every modeler cares to attend competitions. Most of us do it for good fun in the privacy of our homes. Or....we build about half of it, life entervines, & we do or don't pick it back up later. Ain't America privledges grand. ❤😎 Keep up the good work.
@@hpiguy for those of us whom have other matters in life more pressing, youtube & your own contributions help to keep us informed & up to date. I like how you introduce both new pruducts & various common ( less expenssive ) alternatives. Thank you.
Wow..!! I love this kit..!! Also, I can't believe how many xtra parts come with it..!! Always looking for assorted parts to build a better/different model than the usual. Really cool. Thanks again for another great video and build-up.
nice build---really like the three color interior--friends mom had a four door 62 cant remember if it was a Bonneville or Catalina that was white with the blue interior---think it was three shades of blue but cant remember exactly---the center may have been either white or silver but do remember I thought it was the neatest interior I had ever seen
Nice preview and build up. Just needs a set of 15" big & like Cragar or Torque Thrusts wheels and tires. Round 2 should sell them separately as Hop up parts. 😎
About a week ago I stumbled across your videos and subscribed outstanding. Love this channel! Keep up the great work and thanks for all your patience and your time. Have a quick question. Have you done one of the newer kits that a 3-in-1 into the NASCAR versions? Just curious. And by the way, you've got me back into building NASCAR models. Although I like to kick bash stock kits, I haven't done one in over 10 years.
When you were going over the parts, the comments "all kinds of small lines" scared me a bit. Is this a kit for more advanced builders? I've only got about 5 builds under my belt at this point.
I love that decal scheme, Tin Indian. Awesome job, Chris! What brand of 3/4 masking inch tape are you using? I'm asking about the tape you're using to keep a straight edge on the body chrome.

Yeah nice ! Way to go Round2. I like that the 3-in-one was preserved so you can make the car the way you want it. I love the light grill too.
I especially like your Drag racing builds, more please! I like your attitude and style. I REALLY like the music you play as background.

So Chris did you have to paint in the two chrome grill inserts around the blacked centers for front grill or does kit supply chrome inserts
