- Thanjavur was earlier known as Tanjore, This is an ancient City with old Heritage temples of Chola period Thanjavaur is also associated with old Tanjore paintings.
Thanjavur distance from:
Madurai - 180 km
Rameshwaram - 250 km.
We visited Shri Brihadeeswara temple at Thanjavaur and also the Thanjavur palace cum museum, which are part of EP 6 RUclips channel visa2explore. Link of the video is given below:

Hotel we stayed in Thanjavur - We stayed in Thanjavur at TTDC property Hotel Tamil Nadu which is the Tamil Nadu government undertaking.

My stay at this place was average, I enjoyed my stay more at TTDC - Rameshwaram and Kanyakumari, those were bigger properties with better customer service and better maintenance.
Tariff - Rs 2100 for double occupancy.
Tea near Thanjavur Palace - We had tea near Thanjavur Palace.
Thanjavur Art Gallery - After this we visited the “Thanjore Art Gallery”. We met there Mr. Rajan ji., this place is on backside of Shri Brihadeeswara temple, they sell Thanjavur paintings and also make metal craft and sculptures made out of 5 metals.
Hotel Coffee Palace - After this we headed towards a very old and famous eatery Hotel Coffee Palace and had Idli and filter coffee there. Thought this is a old hotel but their variety is limited.
Dinner at Hotel Coffee Palace( more popular branch) - After this we visited the 2nd branch of Hotel Coffee Palace which was on the main road - Mela V.D Street, and had Rava Masala Dosa.
The Dosa was really amazing, I haven’t had this type of taste experience yet.
After this, we ended our day

It's costly because they add Gold and silver to it. Moreover everything is handmade and it takes lot of time to make one painting.

Harish ji, it's a reality, once age advances, it restricts our stamina. Food restrictions also has to be done.but then you still have a very good stamina & enthusiasm, which I always appreciate. Hello sir , why don't you buy a pair of memory cards ? So the one which you are using one day 1 for example, can be left in the room or in the car (carry a back up battery pack), and when your day is done, you can delete that and repeat the same for your second memory card on day 2, and use memory card 1 for your third day.
