Part 2/3: This is a Korean Air Flight Review of our Economy Class (Coach) Long Haul flight from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) to Incheon International Airport (ICN), South Korea's largest airport. Our flight is onboard a Korean Air Airbus A330 (Airbus A330-200) where the seat configuration is 2-4-2 in Economy Class and 2-2-2 in Business Class.
This Korean Air Flight Review covers the walk to the gate at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport do the boarding of our Korean Air flight to Seoul. After boarding taxi begins out toward the runway and then we takeoff. Following takeoff we present the Korean Air Economy Class cabin, the Korean Air Economy Class seats, the Korean Air Inflight Entertainment System, Korean Air Inflight Meals, Korean Air Inflight Drinks, Korean Air Amenity Bag, Korean Air Duty Free shopping magazines, Korean Air Inflight magazine, Korean Air Onboard Safety Card, Korean Air Economy Class Lavatories. The video also includes our arrival at Seoul´s Incheon International Airport and our disembarkation from our Korean Air Airbus A330 (Airbus A330-200) Economy Class flight.
Our Impressions of this Korean Air Flight:
- The cabin crew onboard this flight were friendly professional and
very efficient, we would go as far
as to say, maybe the most efficient cabin crew we have ever
experienced!
- The inflight food and drink services were very good. Very
noteworthy and appreciated was the bottle
of water waiting for us at our seat when we came onboard. Both
the dinner and breakfast served was
good and as Westerners we were very happy to get the chance to
try Bibimbap. The process of mixing it
up on the tray was great fun and it contributed to making this
flight a very memorable one.
- The legroom was adequate comparable to competing Asian
Airlines such as Thai Airways.
Maro did miss having a foot rest for her feet (like the ones found
on Thai Airways).
- The inflight entertainment system was excellent and offered a
very good selection of Western and Asian
movies to keep us busy during the flight. We were especially
happy to see that two external cameras
were also available to show the view outside the aircraft.
Verdict:
We enjoyed this flight from start to end. The efficient, friendly and
very smartly dressed crew members
created a positive atmosphere onboard and nothing was too
much to ask for. Experiencing Bibimbap was
one of the highlights of the flight, as it was a "unique" inflight
meal. We can highly recommend this airline
for your next flight to Asia. We look forward to flying Korean Air
again!

I always use Korean air. Service is excellent and seat has enough leg room. I found Korean economy class is better than American airline business class.

My wife and I are taking this airline in 2 months to go from NYC to Manila. It is 14 hours from JFK airport to Seoul. We have a 3 hour layover and then a 4 and a half hour flight from Seoul to Manila.

You're right about "North Korean airspace rules". While many countries' planes fly through North Korea's airspace, South Korea's planes have to avoid the area. Wasting time and fuel but for the safety. Sad thing.

X Z Seng a Korean Airlines plane was shot down in 1983 for straying into Soviet Air space. It had deviated from its route I believe.

My experience with Korean Air was ICN to JFK in business class. I now refer to that flight as the day I was King of the World.

I have just had a recent flight from Incheon to Osaka on a 787-9 with Korean-Air and found the whole experience excellent. Crew were outstanding in dealing with customers and one of the smoothest flights I've ever had from the pilots. Great Job Korean-air. Cheers.

The A330 and A340 are perfect for long haul flights with the 2-4-2 configuration. It looks like you had a very good time onboard Korean Air. Very good and informativ trip report.

Glad you made it to your flight! Korean Air looks like an airline I'd like to fly with some day. That's pretty cool they provide metal cutlery in economy class! The main course looked interesting (in a good way) and the breakfast was not bad either. I only use strawberry jam with waffles and butter on bread so I'd eat the croissant as it is, hehe. Great video Maxi & Maro and also, huge congratulations on achieving 10K subs! You really deserve them! :-)

Glad to hear that you enjoyed this Korean Air Flight Review Supahemz! That really was a long walk to the gate, somebody with walking disabilities would probably not have made it there on time! We were also very happy that we made it to the flight, the whole point of this journey was so that we could try the Korean Air product, if we had we missed the flight we would have been booked onto a different airline to take us to our destination which was Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Luckily we made it and got to experience the Korean Air product which was very good, we can highly recommend this airline to anybody! I’ve never tried Bibimbap, and pleased that you provided an onboard step by step instruction how to assemble Bibimbap. And it does look delicious, as well as the breakfast they served.
You are correct Maxi, landing at Incheon International Airport is a spotter’s dream! With a large variety of foreign carriers and many aircraft types, a spotter would feel right at home.

Hi Ron lovely hearing from you, greetings back from Copenhagen! Glad you liked our Korean Air Flight Review, we really enjoyed flying with this airline and were thrilled that we had the chance to do so! We really hope to have the chance to try their Business Class product in the future, let´s see... That run/walk to the gate was indeed long, the cabin crew on our KLM flight into Amsterdam told us it was a "short" gate to gate walk... if that was "short" can you imagine how long a "long" walk would be HaHa. In all seriousness though we cannot understand why there was not a "Golf Cart" waiting at the gate to quickly shuttle us and a few other passengers to our connection flight gate (we were delayed), thankfully we made it there though! :-D The Bibimbap was tasty, but by the time we were done filming and photographing, it was a little cold but that did not matter. Bibimbap was one of the main reasons we wanted to fly with this airline as it is such a unique "Inflight Meal" experience for us Westerners. Maro and I had great fun with it, even though Maro forgot to press the record button when she was filming me, HaHa. great review maxi as always. how do you maintain your cool voicing...very professional i must say. the crew and service definitely are professional. the announcement in american english is very clear and pleasing to the ears...the highlight has got to be your bibimbap mispronunciations maxi 😃. just some suggestions though:- (1) sequence your video titles ..date them at least so we can trek along as we scroll through your videos (2) list the gears used e.g. cameras, mics etc (3) list the times of key segments in the information section so we can zoom direct to segments we are particularly interested in. other than that, there's nothing else to comment but kudos to both of you lovely couple for one of your best vlogs...love from malaysia 👍

By cool voice I (Maxi) suspect you mean when I am talking as we are walking to the gate extremely delayed and may miss our flight? The answer is quite simple there, I have taught myself a long time ago not to get stressed over something I have know control over, and a flight that will leave you behind because of our delay is something no travelers have control over! :-D The word Bibimbap had great difficulty rolling off my tongue indeed, HaHa, but it was wonderful to get the chance to try this dish at over 10 000 meters! Thanks for your great suggestions here are a few answers: (1) There are a number of reasons why we don´t sequence the video, one of them is the limited space in the description area which we use to describe the comment and credit the copyright owners of the music we use etc. (2) Listing the cameras etc. again boils down to lack of space in the description area, we actually have been listing our main camera in the description of many of our previous videos but decided to stop doing it from this video, but we can continue doing that (main camera) if there is an interest (3) The answer is the same as the answer in (1). Never trust someone that says it's a short walk! I once regretted and almost made an entire fully booked a320 wait for 2 people... gosh was I sweaty and the looks on people as we ran and our names were called our across the terminal and finally the looks on the passengers when we boarded.

We have tried it once and one just wished that the cabin crew would let everybody know that it was not our fault, HeHe. Merry christmas! Nice flight. thanks for the video. Looks like you are using a Panasonic video camera (4K?) from the reflection in the mirror. Do you enjoy using this camera (more than a "vlogging" stills and motion camera)? You certainly get good results, your films are nice and clear and you easily zoom around and also zoom in to close ups (the wing flaps mechanism and your Korean food, for instance) Good to see both of you featuring in parts of this movie too! I was interested to see what this long haul economy flight was like from a major far eastern carrier. Thanks. BTW that rush to the gate at the beginning was truly epic!!!

Korean Air is also high on my list of airlines I want to try and their product looks very appealing.
My next new airline will be Kuwait Airways though which is also very exciting to me, especially because I have a super tight 35min connection so I better run at Maro"s speed through. Kuwait City's airport to make my connection to Bangkok.

Korean Air is a very good airline and we feel that the Economy Class onboard is some of the best we have experienced on a Long-haul flight between Europe and Asia, we can highly recommend flying with them if you get the chance. 1:15:33 The A330-300 is a little longer than the -200. Hard to tell in the video which type it is though

You are also correct in that the banking turn south towards Beijing was basically done so that the aircraft flies clear of prohibited North Korean airspace. If the aircraft kept flying east without the turn south towards Beijing, it would have run into North Korean airspace.

At first I was like “oh I won’t watch this whole thing!” And then an hour later I was still watching it. THANK You! This video was perfect for showing me what to expect on our upcoming flight. My question is, if you ask for more water, is it from a bottle? And is the in flight entertainment complimentary? Also do they have WiFi? Also I’m so impressed you guys made it through security and got to your flight! It reminded me of the scene from Home Alone 2 (which always blows my mind, but it was a pre 9/11 U.S.)

To answer your questions, extra water is served from a bigger bottle in a plastic cup, flight entertainment is indeed complimentary, as far aw we can remember there was Wifi at a charge (that will be mentioned within the video). Running to catch that flight was quite hectic, we do not mind loosing a flight but we do mind loosing the airline. If we had lost the flight we would have been put on a different airline and the whole reason we chose this route was to fly Korean. I was able to book my Parents and I on Korean Air from SFO to BKK for $532 BKK to Ho Chi.Minh on Vietnam Air for $88 and Phillipine Air Saigon SFO for $473 . Wree spending 2 weeks in Jontiem by Pattaya and. a tour of Viet Nam. Your VLOG got me hooked on KAL

A interesting movie. I think if you are on a long haul flight it must effect your appetite as you cant exercise. The walk at Schiphol airport kept you fit. I noticed that the sign said welcome to Korea not south Korea

I love Korean Air. We fly on their 747-8i from JFK to Manila, with a 3 hour layover in Incheon. The flight from JFK to Incheon is roughly 16 hours. Korean Air's economy is incredibly comfortable on the 747-8i, the the flight attendants were very good! ICN is an incredibly beautiful airport!

Myself and some friends are looking to travel to Seoul in April next year and i have been looking into Korean Air. With regards to booking flights i just had some questions, are the meals included in the economy tickets or do you pay for those separately? Also is Luggage booked separately to the ticket? Iv'e gone onto Korean Air to look at prices for dates and notice there are different economy options, but none of them state about Meals or luggage, any advice would be appreciate! Also we will be flying from London.
