- Bill Farley, Substack.com joins 365 Sports to discuss his thoughts on his article about FSU and their potential exit plan from the ACC, are private equities going to be involved in the exit plan, will the ACC negotiate with FSU, and more.
With Craig Smoak, David Smoak, & Paul Catalina
Outsiders do not believe the resolve FSU supporters have. It’s simply impossible to survive in the ACC.
That's hilarious!
Some claimed FSU was only barking and making a lot of smoke when threatened to challenge the Iron Clad GOR’s. 😀
It's not iron clad...it was a bad deal for the GoR which nobody has seen the full document...it's locked tighter than Fort Knox.
Great show, thanks
Go Noles >--;-->
😂Trolls getting a daily dose of FSU. 😂 Great guest! Thanks
See you soon Notre Dame! The walls keep closing in.
Sincerely,
The Big Ten
They will probably spite the big ten and head SEC. That would be 😂
@@ronelite582 Wishful thinking for any SEC fan.😂
@@briggsofdisaster FSU is going to the SEC also. Another Big 10 loss
@@Mar2bv I love how the SEC thinks they’re somehow winning the long game, or that they’re even winning now. The winds have shifted and you just don’t know it yet.😂
The B1G is playing chess when the SEC is playing checkers.
@briggsofdisaster You really think if FSU has a choice they are going to the Big 10? The SEC has all the power with FSU. Ask FSU where they would rather play?
It's a done deal. FSU will be in the BIG for the 2025 season.
No it will not. The same Florida State Attorney General that is requesting information from ESPN, will be the same one who says FSU should go to the Big 12 to keep the travel and tourism money in Florida with UCF. FSU cannot think that once it leaves the ACC that it can get a Miami game.
You're wrong. I heard they will be in the BIG in 2025.@@CarlaJenkinsTV
FSU CAN'T BE IN THE BIG! THEY ARE NOT IN THE AMER. ASSOC. OF UNIVERSITIES. A PRE-REQUISITE FOR ANY SCHOOL THAT WANTS TO GO THERE.
@luisanunezjr3 that's absolutely not a prerequisite and I don't know how many times that has to be said, before people will drop that argument. First of all, B1G people have said that's not the case. Secondly, FSU does more research than many schools in the B1G, they meet the academic standards of that conference. They will have AAU membership within a couple of years of joining that conference.
@@tommyc6532 --Tommy, they were AAU members at the time of their admittance in '09, but they were kicked out in '12. Thanks for your reply. 👍🍀
Yes. Florida State goes to the Big 10. Big 10 will own state of Florida market & recruiting with FSU & Miami !!!! The SEC immediately becomes the weaker conference !!!!!
That's hilarious!
Good vid
At the end of the day, it's ESPN that holds all the cards to a negotiated settlement. ESPN has the sole right to trigger the ACC Grant of Rights 9 year extension in 2027. ESPN also owns the TV rights to both ACC and SEC.
Why FSU going to B10? They do not own all the cards.😂😂😂
(D)uck ESPN and the whores of football, aka the CFP Committee.😂
ESPN has no way OUT of their Contract with the ACC and ESPN does not WANT a way OUT of their Contract with the ACC. Stop believing bullcrap. ACC and ESPN have a partnership that needed TIME to marinate and BOTH took a Short-term Pay Cut for the Long-term GAINS that have started rolling in LAST YEAR.
EACH ACC School will take a Large Leap forward in Revenue of $16+ Million Next Year and another $10+ Million TWICE in the next 3 years. with yet ANOtHER $10+ million Leap forward in 7 years when the ACC will THEN be within $5 Million per school of the B1G school
These CLOWNS NO NOTHING
Lol. FSU is gone and ESPN has nothing to say about it.
@@jonperkins4367 🤔👏🏿👏🏿👍🏿💯
Oh, good grief. ESPN is powerless to have any part in the negotiations soon to start. They will know the outcome when the parties announce the agreement.
It’s all ESPN vs FOX
Could you have picked a more complimentary photo of Coach? Wow guys!!!
Private Equity not exactly like Saudi mess . . . these are investors who don't care about public prominence . . . they are happy just holding a money bag, as long as you keep filling it.
Sounds like USF, Tulane, Memphis, and UConn will be fighting for a spot to replace FSU in the ACC
No. It will be Utah, OK St, WVU IN the ACC and the rest of the Big 12 fighting for the last spots as the ACC goes to 20+1.
As well as the other school that will leave the ACC as well.
@@JohnDry the only other one that could is Clemson. The others don’t have the money to buy back their rights. Notre Dame doesn’t count in this.
I bet UNC has enough $ to go if they choose
@@MercerKnowsBallno Big12 school will go to the ACC when they are getting more $$ now. Big12 will likely add Pitt, VT, and Louisville for WVU and Cincinnati . As long as they add power 5 schools they can increase their earnings.
We have officially reached the Gordon Gekko point of college football realignment:
"Why do you have to wreck this conference?"
"Because its wreakable, alright!"
I don't believe any private equity firms should allowed on a public campus. Just my opinion.
Y'all done pissed Mike off. Get ready!
If any of this were true, the numbers not fsu's will, they best be sure they have a landing spot.
Why would you want a team that doesn’t want to be there?
I absolutely hate the way the conferences have been carved up lately...Oklahoma is not a "Southern State," its a Prairie state like Kansas and Nebraska... Colorado is a Mountain State....etc...they are destroying great rivalries...
Exactly. And while SMU is sorta kinda on the Atlantic Coast, California definitely is not.
When has Oklahoma not been in the South Central part of the US?
Oklahoma is in fact a Southern state, not a southeastern state by any stretch, but indeed a southern state, from their culture and politics to their accents and attitudes, They're just a mini Texas 😂
I take it you've never really been to Oklahoma.
Or Kansas.. or any "prairie state"
Kansas, Missouri, and Kentucky are the intersection between the South and Midwest. Everything below them is in fact, Southern. Literally and culturally 😂
This guy knows nothing about fsu. And quite frankly I’m 😱
The ACC should have mDe uneven profit sharing and not force these crap teams in
FSU needs to understand that the SEC and B1G contracts are done until 2030 at the least. FSU would only water down the amount or come in with a less than full share of the money. It makes no sense to do it now and lose money getting out and then taking less money for the duration of those contracts. It would make more sense to do this closer to 2030 so they can be in on the new contract that will start then. It's all idiotic.
fsu, Be careful what you wish for, your easy days of conference dominance will be over.
2 winning years in the last 7 years and FSU acts like they are football gods.Did they give back the money when they only won 4 and 5 games !
As a hedge fund PE specialist ....they will have GP managers raise capital from LPs with structured capital calls as needed ...the J curve will be transition into Big10 before get full 98 mill annual payouts..then likely attractive ROIC return on invested capital
If they negotiate a “small exit fee”. The ACC is not negotiating down. fSU might structure the payout of the money, but not a significant reduction.
and you know this because……?
The last thing the ACC wants is for this to go to discovery where their sacred under lock & key agreement is subject to Sunshine Laws with state of FL
Naah brah! Gonna to the FSU in BIG.
@@jkmarshall3553 Yes AFTER it PAYS Half a Billion.
Half a billion. Lol. Boy are you in for a surprise. 😅
@@MercerKnowsBallThat is not going to age well. LOL
I have no interest in a super conference as a Michigan fan. See what happened all these people came in with money and it changed college football because money changes everything and as usual not for the better.
Side note, businesses sucks.
Interesting I suppose if one is interested in Finance, but since I'm not, this is boring. Yes, I am well aware that there are all kinds of gimmicks in the world of finance, and some are even legal. If this helps FSU in some way, then good for them, but is this good for college football?
22 minutes talking about gobbledegook. Get to the f'ing point!!!
The SEC doesn't want them; they do not add a new market to the conference and Florida will never approve. The Big Ten doesn't want them; SACS accreditation doesn't meet B10 requirements. Plus, with the 2 conferences entering into discussions with each other, it's highly unlikely that they would encroach on each others' geographic territory at this time. FSU people need to accept that they are stuck like chuck for the time being.
SEC wanted FSU 30 years ago with no championships, ESPN wouldn't care if FSU switched to the SEC cause they don't lose anything. In BIG 10 FSU would be the 3rd biggest money maker. I fail to see how no one would want Florida State, sir. Are you a bama fan per chance?
Boy are you in for a big disappointment. Lol
Wrong. So many reasons to go to the SEC. TAMU did not have a vote nor will Floroda or S. Carolina especially with FSU and Clemson Being better teams.
63-3!
Congratulations little puppy on beating the scout team who didn't even want to be there themselves.
I'm so sorry you live such a miserable life. And hope your life situation does improve!!!
Go Noles↘️
2023 wants their lame comment at a jab against a practice squad win
Go Bama! That's right, they didn't.😂😂😂
Your comment forgets the fact that fsu's 3rd and 4th string were playing maybe the best team. Even Kirby Smart said the situation was ridiculous. Cherry pick what weak points you think we have and ignore the strong ones.
@@carterkellogg5054 As I said in another post with the 63-3. Y'all did not hear a word Kirby said. There was a time when UGA fans were classy. They win a couple Natty, all of a sudden, Kirby the most rational individual in the state of Georgia.😄
This just in, Georgia just scored on fsu again
FSU baby
If they want to leave, they WILL have to pay LOTS of money...deal with it or shut up already.
Naah, brah!
Lots of money for you amd me, but not a lot compared to what they stand to lose by not leaving.
Yeah, they're gone for sure... and they already know where they're going. @@carterkellogg5054
Except the acc has no obligation to negotiate a buyout of the media rights. Have fun being in the acc for the next 13 years
This jayboogie troll jumps from fsu post to fsu post spreading nonsense. ACC just bent the knee and now he’s going to act like he knows anything about anything. Pathetic.
It’s in the best interest of both the ACC and FSU to negotiate a settlement as quickly as possible. This is a bad marriage and there’s no reason to stay in it any longer than necessary.
The acc suggested it Einstein.. not fsu
Cry more….. we love your tears
😭😭😭
Go Noles↘️
FSU plans to embarrass itself more by joining the SEC. Because that’ll show them, when they’re losing 8-9 games a season like Vanderbilt
There has always been a way out…pay up. It’s going to cost Fsu at around $270 million. This is nothing more than hyperbole. 🥱
Nah! It will fall between $90 and $120 million. The only possible flaw? Some officials in the FSU camp believe $150 million is possible.
@@brothermouzone1307 dreaming is free I guess ….
@Herb___ 😄😄😄 You want to know dreaming? It has been argued FSU provides 18% of ACC television revenue. This works out to approximately $85 million. I would be arguing for $85 million, damn the $90 million.
@Herb___ 😄😄😄 No sooner did I hit send. A Board of Trustee by the name of Peter Collins stated that if the buyout was $150 million, FSU would be gone.
Peter, STFU.😄😄😄 Let the adults handle the negotiations.
