Don't think this will go well for them, since they didn't bring an air force with them.
The soldiers that went to russia will not come back to ukraine, i hope for those men that they have enough food and ammunition, but I doubt its possible to carry so many drones without a supply line and make sure wounded soldiers can be sent home for treatment. Being ukrainian soldier in kursk is an horrible fate.

There really is no territory taken...only areas of operation, which is also under bombardment.

Well dpa is alright if your basing hundred percent of your info of him then you’ll probably end up with a pro Russian leaning bias. But I find mapping reporting and smaller channels like dpa (I started following him when we was like 10k subs he’s pretty big now) have less opinionated reports than bigger channels like history legends or dennys davydov because they can focus on singular events and can downplay events more easily and have a much bigger audience which requires more bias to pro ukrainian viewers or pro Russian.
Latest reports from Kursk have stated Russian military are pushing back the ukranian invaders in some areas of Kursk. In fact, some units of ukraine are retreating. On August 20, the "North" troop group continued to destroy the enemy in the border areas of the Kursk region
In the direction of Korenevo, the Northerners repulsed one AFU attack on the working village of the same name with the help of up to a platoon of BMPs and two armored vehicles. The enemy's losses amounted to 11 fighters and 1 armored vehicle. The village was not captured and Korenevo is under the control of Russian troops.
The enemy also attempted a breakthrough near the villages of Komarovka and Olgovka, but was unsuccessful and withdrew with heavy losses. Three AFU servicemen were captured.
In the direction of Suja, fierce fighting continues in the area of Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, where the AFU with up to 30 militants and 2 BMPs attacked the village. Fire damage was inflicted, up to 8 Nazis were killed, the enemy was thrown back.
In the Volchansk direction, fighting continued in the village of Volchansk. Northern assault groups advanced in the area of apartment buildings and occupied 1 entrance of an apartment building, destroying up to 10 AFU fighters.
Also, 2 attempts of the enemy to transfer reserves in small groups of 4-5 people were foiled. They were uncovered by the North reconnaissance and destroyed by FPV calculations.
No significant changes in the Liptsovsky direction. Warriors of the North continue mopping up the northern part of the dacha settlement near the Travyan reservoir.
Over the past day, the enemy losses amounted to more than 390 people (up to 300 of them on the Sumy direction). Also uncovered and destroyed:
in the Sumy direction:
▪️ three tanks;
▪️ APCS;
▪️ 11 AVs;
▪️ two artillery installations;
▪️ three 120-mm mortars;
▪️ an electronic warfare station;
▪️ three units of automotive equipment.
In other areas:
▪️ M777 howitzer;
▪️ Bogdana SAU;
▪️ three 120-mm mortars near the village of Liptsy;
▪️ four UAVs near the villages of Vilcha and Guryev Kazachok.
Expectedly, the intensity of the AFU attacks in Kursk region decreased, and with it the quality and motivation of the advancing contingent. Up to a certain point, the enemy's assault was stopped after reaching 50% casualties, but now this figure barely reaches 25. The AFU storm troopers are fleeing after the first serious attack or destroyed UAV, many surrendering at once.
The situation remains tense in the Belgorod border area, where fighters of the "North" group foiled another attempt by DRGs to infiltrate into Russian territory. Fearless reconnaissance continues search operations to prevent a border breakthrough.

ukraines success in kursk is actually very dangerous for them....there is a reason russia is hitting the bottom sides of this bulge and not the top of the mushroom head...they want to encircle and swallow it and trap it....while they roam freely in the south...
if you study war in the east in ww2 you will see the soviets do this tactic/strategy over n over and countless times against the nazi war machine and just outplayed it...out chessed it...during stalingrad an even bigger battle than stalingrad with millions more casualties was taking place north of moscow in rzhvez...holding up millions of german troops that were unable to send reinforcements to stalingrad and its flanks...it spread the germans thin and allowed the 6th army in stalingrad to be encircled and destroyed...

I would be careful using the word "Manuever" to describe Ukrainian shenanigans in Kursk. They remind me of a soccer team that has 70% ball possession but still concede some goals and lose the game.

As Northern General Sherman said in the Fall of 1864 after Atlanta was taken, and the Southern commander General John Bell Hood (yeah, Fort Hood in Texas was named after him, but his name was removed in 2023 since US Forts are no longer allowed to be named after Confederate generals) started an attack northward into Tennessee, "IF HE (General Hood, or General Syrsky today) WANTS TO GO TO THE OHIO RIVER, I'LL GIVE HIM RATIONS, MY JOB IS DOWN SOUTH!"
I'm sure Gerasimov is thinking the SAME THING. If Syrsky wants to attack to Reka Sym River in Kursk region, that's fine with Gerasimov, his job is DOWN SOUTH IN DONBASS. You need to read some US Civil War history Wyatt. I recommend "Battle Cry of Freedom" by Professor James M. McPherson. Great book. This War has, as Alexander Mecouris over at The Duran Channel said, "an uncanny similarity to the American Civil War." He's right. It's the "RUS CIVIL WAR", Russia is the Union (Federal Army), and Ukraine is the Confederacy (Nationalist Army).

The Russians obviously not only have no air defense to protect the building of their Ponton bridges they also do it by day without the use of artificial fog which would prevent the FPV drones from seeing the target. I really don't understand the way they act.

Many people will say Russias defense was weak but I'm trying to pay attention to reality will they be able to get passed the north bank of the river that Russia will withdraw to? Or are we playing games where we call withdrawing to better positions a "route".

Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity.
In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas.
If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy.
Zelensky, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements.
Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time.
Russia's national security was compromised once NATO began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining NATO was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns.
20th September, 2021: Ukraine launched military drills with US and NATO.
NATO is not a defensive alliance. NATO illegally bombed Yugoslavia (a direct violation of the U.N. Charter).

Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave.

The first terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed the truck driver and the individuals in the adjacent car (innocent civilian victims).
The second terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed two parents and severely injured their young daughter.
I have done a lot of research and it took me a long time to write this comment. I have stated a lot of facts and I have given my honest opinion.
I have provided a brief summary of events that took place. In order to explain this whole situation in great detail, a book would need to be written.
Hopefully someone will write an UNBIASED book, stating facts and allowing the readers to form their own judgments. Everything I said can be fact checked and verified....
