    Here is my question: How much did they pay you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????? I understand that Cartwright King Solicitors has been paid 37 million pounds. The criminal lawyers became the criminals to keep their gravy train going! This all coming from the Post Office that refused to pay for the Fujitu data discovery that the subpostmasters had a legal right to!

    One of the most revealing sets of Qs and As, as JB’s questions reveal wholesale failures by a series of lawyers to carry out their duties, both towards courts and defences but to also towards giving BA QC all the info he required.

    Brian has been found out - he's one of those 'flexible' barristers - who is very smart - and can charm - but he was 'looking after' his money client and so he gently 'massaged' his advice and instructions. he knows that his 'instruction' were marked 'observations' precisely for the reasons that if anything happened he may be abke to hide behind semantics - which he has been doing throughout his evidence - when pushed on the experts report - he says he was looking at impact etc. - of course he can't admit that he was part of the problem - disclosure of the experts shortcomings are a very basic and school boy exercise - he knew what he was doing and he knows he'll get away with his part in the cover up

      He gave POL processes a clean bill of health (after excluding advice and recommendations on Gareth Jenkins form his instruction list), which was then used by POL to prevent further investigations. "Did you check the processes and speak with anybody?" "No, I only looked at the hierarchy [can I have my money now?]. Nice. Any disclosure maybe to the sub-postmasters that were convicted despite bugs in Horizon and remote access by others? Nah, not my responsibility. Well done, Mr Altman KC!

  • @trumphy911
    @trumphy911 18 дней назад +1

    Altman is the modern day equivalent of “Chief Inquisitor”, from the looks of it.
    He doesn’t “turn his mind” to consider unpalatable thoughts of miscarriages of justice because “it’s not in the remit”.
    If you want to understand why Julian Assange was shoved into max security jail for 6 years and is still there WITHOUT ANY CHARGES BEING BROUGHT, well look no further than Altman and his team.
    Justice is not blind in the UK, but depends on the colour of your money (Post Office) and the commercial or political interests of the Prosecutors’ masters. It’s a joke for us to keep on believing that British justice is fair and impartial.

    Brian Altman KC was upset that he had to admit eight times that his judgment was wrong! And was then extremely annoyed that he had to repeat that so many times. Frankly if a person in his position thinks he is so “injured” and inconvenienced having to repeat so many times, he is clearly oblivious of his actions on the inconvenience of the sub postmasters when they continued to be held as criminals because he did not ensure that it was the PO Horizon bugs that caused the losses. Not their guilt.
    Altman cannot be hireable by any prosecution service as jurors will not trust any submissions, cross examinations etc. as for “elevation” to the Bench has to be out of the question.
    Showing A little humility would have been far more appropriate than complaining that he had to admit eight times to his poor judgment. So please keep him OFF all legal benches, but perhaps park him on a park bench!

    • @trumphy911
      @trumphy911 18 дней назад +1

      Yes, he was a master class in bluffing and growling in a righteous manner, except he was not fooling anyone. At best, he was trying to salvage whatever reputation he might have had, but his -HIS- opinions or advices, were used to unsuccessfully try to cover grave miscarriages of justice.
      His comment: I was naive
      Jason Beer: this is not a trait associated with the top alickadoo of the British prosecutorial Chief Inquisitor
      Altman: so what’s your point, leave it out, I said once already I might have made a mistake..
      …fckr gets to say it 8 times more, but there’s lots more he ain’t saying.

      He is a senior Silk who clearly did not want to bite the hand that fed him imo, whatever the consequences to others. He failed in his duty to the Court and ipso facto justice. I think a reasonable minded person would not accept his claim that he knew nothing of any disclosure issue, to my mind his advice to the Post Office served only the Post Office and not his other obligations as a (then) QC.

    His evidence is laughable. One of the foremost criminal lawyers in the land and he overlooks the staggeringly important issue of Jenkins’ perjury and the lack of instruction given to Jenkins. Things that would have stood out like a nine foot neon sign.
    Defence lawyers spend a large amount of time chasing disclosure requirements. Prosecutors spend at least as much time hiding disclosure issues. Yet this top-of-food-chain expects people to belief he missed this vital issue. Pleeease.
    He also has a magical memory forgetting things when convenient. But when pushed by Steen he recalls several paragraphs and sub-paragraphs by number and bullet point, trying to avoid the issue.

      Beer KC’s reputation continues to rise as a straight talking, forensic and polite but very very well prepared barrister. I believe that Beer KC, as well as Blake KC and the others understand that the PO scandal at its heart is a scandal of huge problems with Legal Ethics at the highest levels that facilitated political and corrupt commercial interests in a key state owned institution AT THE UNFAIR EXPLOITATION OF THEIR EMPLOYEES’S own money by enforcing abusive contracts while covering up their own profit driven incompetence.

      Suddenly remembers other details that throw doubt on his involvement.I don't think I did is also saying he could have known.
      Interesting take on it at every opportunity Altman to innoculate himself he takes it.
