It depends a lot on your budget and on how often you are planning to use it. This one is a Puisor. I bought it online but I think that's only in Holland. I would sugest you check in your country what you can find online. Because it is a machine a lot of people buy and then use only ones or twice, you can probably get a good deal on a used one. I like to be able to read the moisture and temperature digitally and I find it also importante to be able to change the temperature because you will probably get hooked on the incubating proces :-) so when you come across a tortoise egg for example, you'll want to incubate it and then you are able to do so...peep

Irene Ovanesyan Actually the fridge stalls the growth of the embryo in the egg. Many hatcheries use this tactic so that eggs created from multiple birds on different days can hatch at the same time for shipment. If the embryo is refridgerated for to many days then it will be fatal or if it is refridgerated at later stages of development it will kill the largely developed chick inside. It's similar to how egg and sperm donors have their stuff refridgerated without killing the cells for later use.
That largely depends on how developed the embryo in the egg was before refrigeration. If you were to do it to a fresh egg (let's say 1-3 days) then it could last 2 weeks. Don't recommend anymore than 10 days because not all eggs are the same and there could be loses, but 2 weeks is fine to try out because there is still pretty a good chance it will hatch just don't get upset if you lose a few for every dozen.. More than that i have no idea.
I think if anything, what he does with the metal tea eggs, only provides extra insulation for the eggs. (because of the straw he put inside) I think the insulation has more purpose that the tea balls themselves. Though he intended is as padding.

they only eat the eggs that were not made sexually, well at least most of them.., chickens and i'm assuming quails make eggs non sexually when they grow up and people eat those eggs but the keep the eggs that were made sexually, the eggs that were made non sexually have no quails inside them, you need a male quail and a female to have sex for the egg to hatch, so people eat the eggs that were made non sexually because they have no baby chicks inside them and people don't eat the ones that were made sexually because baby quails are inside those eggs

I believe that breathing on the little ones also gives them something else to learn to recognize you by, namely, the smell of your breath. In the morning, I wake up my wee mouse by exhaling lightly into her aquarium-house. Just a voiceless "h-a-a-a", to let her know I'm up and about, without turning on lights. She usually immediately peeks out from under the little "blanket" tent she builds over the yogurt cup she sleeps in, and comes pitter-pattering over hoping for a piece of cereal -- which she promptly gets, because she is such a good little girl and loves cereal.
Today, I was walking my dog and a trail of little quails with no mom came passing by. My dog ended up barking and chasing them, and they all fell in a ditch. I got a stick, and I carefully allowed a chick, after chick to climb on the stick to be brought up. I finally got them all out and they ended up following me home. I had to leave them. Because I saw what had to be their real mother. A full grown momma quail was looking at me. I gave the chicks one last look, and went inside. Thankfully, I didn't touch them with my hands, so their mom can still feed them without my human scent.
Good job in saving the babies and leaving them to their mother to raise. I think it's important to respect nature, and wildlife. If there's no way wild animals will survive under the circumstance than yes take home to raise them.

Fastclaw1AJ Of course it looked like kissing, to blow into such a small opening he'd have to purse his lips like he was kissing. But he was definitely letting the chick know it was hatching into a safe environment. Typically, chicks hatch under their mother where it's warm.

Why do they use Quail Eggs for food? they are too small...
they only eat the eggs that were not made sexually, well at least most of them.., chickens and i'm assuming quails make eggs non sexually when they grow up and people eat those eggs but the keep the eggs that were made sexually, the eggs that were made non sexually have no quails inside them, you need a male quail and a female to have sex for the egg to hatch, so people eat the eggs that were made non sexually because they have no baby chicks inside them and people don't eat the ones that were made sexually because baby quails are inside those eggs

Ghaz3k yes, he does that. I did the same thing when my baby Quaker was born. I can't believe some people say it's disgusting! He's just simply giving them warmth.
I assumed that is what he was doing but I'm not really familiar with Avian care at all so I was not 100% certain.
I believe that breathing on the little ones also gives them something else to learn to recognize you by, namely, the smell of your breath. In the morning, I wake up my wee mouse by exhaling lightly into her aquarium-house. Just a voiceless "h-a-a-a", to let her know I'm up and about, without turning on lights. She usually immediately peeks out from under the little "blanket" tent she builds over the yogurt cup she sleeps in, and comes pitter-pattering over hoping for a piece of cereal -- which she promptly gets, because she is such a good little girl and loves cereal.

Today, I was walking my dog and a trail of little quails with no mom came passing by. My dog ended up barking and chasing them, and they all fell in a ditch. I got a stick, and I carefully allowed a chick, after chick to climb on the stick to be brought up. I finally got them all out and they ended up following me home.
I had to leave them. Because I saw what had to be their real mother. A full grown momma quail was looking at me. I gave the chicks one last look, and went inside. Thankfully, I didn't touch them with my hands, so their mom can still feed them without my human scent.

Tzbia Khan it is a myth, I've put babies that fell out of their nest back in with no issues and continued to watch them grow.
Good job in saving the babies and leaving them to their mother to raise. I think it's important to respect nature, and wildlife. If there's no way wild animals will survive under the circumstance than yes take home to raise them.

Fastclaw1AJ Of course it looked like kissing, to blow into such a small opening he'd have to purse his lips like he was kissing. But he was definitely letting the chick know it was hatching into a safe environment. Typically, chicks hatch under their mother where it's warm.
