Just discovered this by accident and so glad I did. As a young child I loved the F & S version so think this is a brilliant parody and so true of many modern day situations. It's a tad long but then I suppose it had to be to fit all the events in, however well done for keeping with the original tune and tempo, I'm sure F & S would love it and it certainly gave me a giggle.
Very funny - and it's all so true. I hope the folks at BT get to see this... and blush! I think Flanders & Swann would be very amused to see that things have changed so little in 50+ years!
Hysterically funny & very clever. And this is why a few years ago after my BT broadband working on & off for nearly a year I swapped providers & have never had a problem since!
This is one of the funniest things I've seen online, or anywhere, in a long, long time! Flanders and Swann would be proud! (I'm in the U.S., and it rings true here!)
That's hilarious! I found this by accident but so glad I did - I love Flanders & Swann and your adaptation is really well done. Also, it appears that BT must be (very) closely related to our Telstra/Bigpond in Australia...
Met up with Messrs Whitmore, Alexander, Will, Brown & Healer last Tuesday for lunch on Hagley road Brum. Come and join us next time - you'd be very welcome.
Yes they did fix it, and after the people at BT had watched my little film, they were very attentive. The broadband has been very good ever since. Thank you for kind comment. My wife still thinks I'm nuts. She may be right.
Loving your work as usual David. Thanks for reminding me about this F&L song, haven't heard it in ages. Threaten to leave them I say, or will that open another can of worms?!?
Fantastic, David - I hadn't realised you were such a Flanders & Swann fan. (You must be older than I thought...) Really good of your twin brother to help you out.
Brilliant in all respects, I am waiting to get full fibre broadband and is still relevant today. Our local amdram is hoping to do the original song, can you tell me if you purchased the backing track and if so where could I get it?
I am being billed for an extra landline that I don't recognise .I have tried for over a half hour to query this but there doesn't seem to be such an option. Looks like it's a deliberate strategy to frustrate customers until they give up and continue to be ripped off.
I can't stop laughing at this.... had similar problem as a childhood fan of Flanders and Swan this just works on so many levels... as BT and Openreach don't!!
Been having circular arguments with vodafone about sure signal stopping and having no wifi calling button on my phone even tho samsung say its compatible and vodafonr can configure it for me. This has been going on for 6months . Promises promises .......
Spot-on. All true to character for Big Trouble (BT). Very sad behaviour for a big company. But, as you said, GET A Mi-Fi DONGLE as a standby. It let's you put your fingers up to their messing, just as they put their fingers up to you. Well played, Sirs !
Blimey, Dave I didn't know you had a twin. Was he at G.D. too ? Brilliant parody and probably still as true today sadly. Doing the Christmas lectures again this year ? Cheers Steve Worley
If you guys are twins , this is incredible. If it’s a clever tech thing you’ve done it’s still very good but man , if you ARE twins then the Synchronicity between you is truly Magical. Unlike the silly Systems that you’re sending up. Now your connection is sorted , I hope you’ll be using your valuable time to swap energy providers as we’re all encouraged to do . As regularly as possible because you can save money- apparently.....👍😁
Hello David it's July 2016 and sad to say BT and Openreach still seem to have "issues" in communicating with each other. I was moaning to my work colleague about it yesterday, and he showed me your video which struck a chord with me. It appears that we all work in TV and might even have crossed paths - who knows?Mike
You're obviously a man with too much time on his hands and too much expensive equipment to play with, v funny nonetheless. Well done, suggest that you send this to Richard Branson to use in his next Virgin Media commercial?
Very funny and reminds me of my experience with TalkTalk when my phoneline went down completely and I could neither make nor receive calls. Only method of contact was online chat on their Facebook page. Agent I was chatting with said "We've done some checks and we know you can make calls so I suggest you ring this number". If I could make calls, why was I using online chat ?.

Excellent. They should use this as the holding music when you call BT customer services ;-)
That would indeed be priceless!
Very funny - and it's all so true. I hope the folks at BT get to see this... and blush! I think Flanders & Swann would be very amused to see that things have changed so little in 50+ years!
Absolutely superb. A brilliant 21st century parody of F & S " the gas man commeth". Love it. Well done.
As this is still true to this day. Flanders & Swann's legendary song still applies. Everywhere!
Hysterically funny & very clever. And this is why a few years ago after my BT broadband working on & off for nearly a year I swapped providers & have never had a problem since!

Saved to a playlist for when my broadband goes down! (though that does beg the question of how to watch your excellent song at that time...)
That's hilarious! I found this by accident but so glad I did - I love Flanders & Swann and your adaptation is really well done. Also, it appears that BT must be (very) closely related to our Telstra/Bigpond in Australia...
David, Wonderful - I loved the original (Gas man cometh) but this updated version is both relevant - we (I) have ALL had this problem!
I have no idea why YT suggested this in 2022 but I'm glad it did. Bloody brilliant, Michael and Donald would have loved this. 😄
Brilliant reworking of a classic - excellent!
Hahaha! I love this! BT once tried to charge me for a phone line in Leicester. I don't live in Leicester
Brilliant.
And goes on almost as long as I'm kept on hold when I ring BT!
+Nick G Nah this song ain't even half that long!
lol
Met up with Messrs Whitmore, Alexander, Will, Brown & Healer last Tuesday for lunch on Hagley road Brum. Come and join us next time - you'd be very welcome.
That sounds great, Steve. Would love to. Let me know where and when.
Absolutely and utterly brilliant!
Why, in 2021, has this suddenly appeared in my recommendations? It's absolutely wonderful...but did they ever fix it?
Yes they did fix it, and after the people at BT had watched my little film, they were very attentive. The broadband has been very good ever since. Thank you for kind comment. My wife still thinks I'm nuts. She may be right.
Loving your work as usual David. Thanks for reminding me about this F&L song, haven't heard it in ages. Threaten to leave them I say, or will that open another can of worms?!?
Rather brilliant - Flanders and Swann would be proud !
Very funny, David. I'm a fan of BT - but Flanders & Swann are the bizz. We have far too few amusing songs to cheer us up these days!
Brilliant! Just brilliant altogether. I firmly believe Flanders and Swan would have enjoyed viewing this.
Fantastic, David - I hadn't realised you were such a Flanders & Swann fan. (You must be older than I thought...) Really good of your twin brother to help you out.
Great twist on the original, I wonder how you got this uploaded?
Brilliant in all respects, I am waiting to get full fibre broadband and is still relevant today. Our local amdram is hoping to do the original song, can you tell me if you purchased the backing track and if so where could I get it?
Hi, Cyril. Thank you for the compliment. I played the backing track myself. If I can find it you are welcome to have it. David
Hi David, that would be great and very kind of you. If you do find it please let me know and we can exchange contact details. Cyril
Superb. A worthy tribute to Flanders and Swann, and a fine poke in the eye for BT.
Priceless! And all too familiar.
Flanders and Swan would have been proud. Well done, indeed.
Very good video and funny song. And I've always liked Flanders & Swann :-)
Been having circular arguments with vodafone about sure signal stopping and having no wifi calling button on my phone even tho samsung say its compatible and vodafonr can configure it for me. This has been going on for 6months . Promises promises .......

So funny and well done. Most of us can relate to this ....BT Grrrrrrr
Superb, sir.
Very creative - and sadly, I can all-too-well relate!
Legends both you and flinders and swann
Absolutely Fabulous ROFL!!!
Very good David, give me my job back and start performing!
Brilliant im an openreach enginneer!! So this is very funny and so very right.😂
Blimey, Dave I didn't know you had a twin. Was he at G.D. too ? Brilliant parody and probably still as true today sadly. Doing the Christmas lectures again this year ? Cheers Steve Worley
Quite brilliant - and how true....
A tad long, but a great piece of work - well done!
Flanders and Swann would have been proud.

Well done keeping to the original tune and tempo, and persisting through those problems makes me glad I'm not with BT
Clever! With acknowledgements to Flanders and Swann!

Brilliant!
Excellent!
Very clever, very much how BT work these!
Are these chaps Twinnies? They look identical!
Very good, love it.
Superb
This is too good 😂 and too true!
brilliant
Still as true now as it was back in 2014.
Brilliant
Brilliant! And very much in the spirit of F & S......
Brillant and true
hahaha brilliant lads Flanders and Swanns heirs apparent
You're obviously a man with too much time on his hands and too much expensive equipment to play with, v funny nonetheless. Well done, suggest that you send this to Richard Branson to use in his next Virgin Media commercial?
He's just using some of the time he would otherwise be on the Internet.
so clever!
I think you have retained their charm.
Four BT employees gave thumbs down.
Flanders and Swann would be proud of you. 😣😏😉😊😂
Victor Melleney Your messages sound like Victor Melleney only not as clever.
Excellent - you should send this to the comedian Marcus Bridgestocke (twitter.com/marcusbrig) as he's done many a fine rant about BT on The Now Show!
Brilliant!
Brilliant!
