They always knew who spider's father was. Spider always knew too. They have a bunch of comics out that explain it better. Long story short, Spider's dad and mom hooked up and he was already born at the time the last movie happened. He was the first human baby born on Pandora and he was too young to be sent back to earth in cryo sleep. His mother had already died so the humans who stayed behind raised him and he spent lots of time with Jake's family too.
Spider was trying to walk his Dad down the same path Jake went hoping he would learn to see like Jake did too. I took him saving his Dad in the end as both one final act as his son before he cut him off and embraced Jake as his father as well as giving him one last chance to not be a dick hole.
Okey, I just don't understand why everyone hates Spider. He is a kid that was taken by the bad guys. Yeah, he showed them a few things (how to fly, how to speak) but he had to. If he wouldn't, they would give him back to the lab guys who would hurt him for informations. It's not like he wants to be there. If you haven't noticed, he never said anything about Sully's locations, plans or anything. While the Sullys were never looking for him. People without daddy issues won't probably understand why he saved him at the end. I could write a lot more about why Spider doesn't deserve the hate he's getting but I need to go sleep.
I think it's less that people don't understand Spider and more that they don't care about Quadritch. Like, I have zero interest in his redemption arc (which it seems that's where it's headed). Neytiri has every right and more to brutally murder him and I hope she does🤷In fact, any version of a series ending in which Quadritch lives is automatically bad. You don't get to kill indigenous people and then have a heart to heart with your long-lost son and suddenly everyone forgives you lol. He 100% should've died in this movie and the fact that Spider is the one that saves him and obviously doesn't tell Jake because he knows it's wrong is why he's hated.
Loak isnt a idiot hes a teen Jake hence why they always clash. U should knows theres more clans too as Jake went to different tribes in last movie to gather warriors. Also yo be fair Jake cant be blamed for the humans hunting tokunn since they were doing it long before he moved to the sea clans hence why Payakann was outcast. U forgot that the sky people killed Netiryis oldest sister first at Graces school.so Netiryi has always known spiders heritage btw.

the “phoenix” (Toruk) that y’all keep talking about cannot be tamed which is why jake didn’t keep it. it comes around rarely and has only been connected to a Na’Vi twice with Jake being the second. they said it in the first movie that’s why he’s called Toruk Makto ( the rider of toruk)

The guy who made this did the titanic and he got the idea for making this movie after going to an island to an ioaska retreat that’s a dmt psychedelic drug that gives you visions this movie also represents the parallel between black / native people and the corrupt American military complex
I agree with the conflict story being weak. But it was super beautiful and the world building was awesome. NGL I even skipped teh whale hunting stuff. Couldn't even watch it. Hard movie to rate. Great reaction though.
