Proud to be Vietnamese with the most diverse cuisine in the world ,I think in some countries they probably won't use this dish, but in Vietnam it is one of the top dishes that cause beer consumption. Thank you for your very detailed and engaging video.

I’m so sorry but I think I have to say that it probably takes you at least 1 year to understand basic Vietnamese dishes. Because Different places in Vietnam bring different techniques, flavors . Even Vietnamese like us don’t even know it all . The sauces are so diversified and ingredients are so complicated, the herbs, spice , a lot of things only have in Asia

Newbie here but I can tell you that my reaction would have been the same whether watching you a long time or freshly discovering your amazing channel. I can honestly say that I got the whole experience.....all except for actually tasting those amazing dishes.
It reminds me of my time as a child and my dad worked on the fishing boat for the navy at Mayport, Fl. We would save all the smaller snapper and such and give it to some Filipinos who would meet us at the dock. In return they would show their gratitude by bring all kids of awesome Filipino dishes. OMG was that the absolute best seafood on the planet. My dad was in Viet Nam in the late '60s as well and would try to describe their street food. I got the seafood experience vicariously through my dad back then. Watching your videos on Asian food brought back some wonderful memories.

@@Iceis_Phoenix Yes, it is awful. We do eat vegetarian about 4 nights a week. When we eat another animal for our meal, I will be teaching them what the animal looks like and eventually how the animal is killed.

We get these tiny little slipper lobsters here near Melbourne in Australia. They're a lot smaller than the tropical ones but so yummy.

Don't be surprised by the corn 🌽. I grew up in NYC and one of the most popular soups in China Town is something they called "Velvet Crab 🦀 and Corn Soup" . Basically it seemed like Real Crab 🦀 meat and Creamed Corn along with other flavors and I think Eggs like you see in EggDrop soup. I would have enjoyed everything you had today.Ah-✌️☮️✝️
It's often imitation crab. Made from fish paste grinded from a pollock. Some places do use real crab meat.
@@reveirg9 Hi Rev, I was lucky enough to have friends who were born in China and the restaurants they took me to some had no menus just want they had on menu that day and a few standards, all in Chinese. I learned a lot about the cuisine of China. DimSum Rules.! !

We are in Hoi An now and unfortunate some of the food places are closed and tourists are very limited. Tried Morning Glory and food was great.

I lost weight in Saigon. Everything allegedly edible was terrifying along with running like a maniac through the never stopping traffic. It was great!

@@GR3YS0RG4N1CS The name "Ho Chi MINH City" only came in existence after the Fall of Saigon which ended the Vietnam War. And that happened in 1975 which means it hasn't been 50 years yet. A wise man once said It's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. You'd be wise to remmeber that.

Sonny, you are the man. You have one of the best channels on RUclips. I have one question, why is Asian seafood so much bigger than the seafood in the U.S? Huge clams and snails and the crabs here look like babies but all the crabs in Asian videos are so big, I can get full on three. When I google it, they give me info on the seafood industry and blah blah blah. It seems like you get a bigger and better product in Asia, and we get low quality leftovers in the U.S. PLEASE can you help me? I live in Georgia and I'm paying 70 bucks for a dozen pitiful small crabs and the guy says, "They're number ones". I'm not an idiot, I have driven 152 miles to get quality seafood, The crabs were larger but still not like in Asia and I get a lot of unsellable seafood for free. Me and my wife eat everything. Sorry so long winded but this is driving me crazy. Keep up the good work from Eric.
