    Hello mate amazing video. I need to strip one tomorrow and you gave me an idea what needs to be done... on mine the fault is vvt function at stop. Only 4.7 vaults to the motor and not responding when sending the command with the tester. The sensor is covered in oil so I suspect is that but will replace both since I am there. What was the fault on yours ? Thank you

      Hi, it was a mix of:
      2851 DME Valvetronic servomotor, actuation
      28B4 DME: Valvetronic servomotor, sluggish movement
      2863 DME: Valvetronic, power limitation
      and had been happening over a few months.
      Clearing the codes helped for a while, and after changing the motor and sensor It is now running really well.
      Good luck with your car, let me know how you go.

    Howz it?!
    Great video thanks man. Recently got a couple of faults show us as well namely
    2A59 Valvetronic Eccentric shaft sensor
    2A5B Valvetronic Eccentric Shaft sensor
    2A6B Valvetronic Power limitation, servomotor.
    Will I need to change both motor and sensor as in your video?
    Or just change the eccentric sensor only
    Thanks mate

      If I was you, I would definitely change both while your in there; the parts are not so expensive, compared to the labour or effort of changing them

    Ive a question, what are all the tork specs you talking about? Like the motor itself, the sensor and what is hand fast with the screws from the lid?

    • @jackpwc01
      @jackpwc01 3 месяца назад

      Hi - I didn't have the torque values, so I just tighten them based on experience. if it is metal to metal you are pretty safe with it feeling tight, and around half the torque for metal to plastic.

    Awesome video got fault code 2A6F any advice on this specific code ? When you google this code, it says Valvetronic minimum lift exceeded...

      Hi - yes just looked that up. I would check everything is in order, such as wiring, etc, then if you follow diagnose Dan you could heat the motor and other stuff like measure the motor current and resistance, or like me you could just change the motor - its not that hard and is a common failure. I would also change the sensor too..
      If I did it again I would make sure I had a new gasket and sealant to hand.

      @@jackpwc01 Thing is we partialy rebuild the engine, so I really want to fix this one... There is issue just like in your video, oil in eccentric shaft sensor, so I order a new gasket, need to clean the electric contact from oil and delete fault on diagnostic. If it's pop's up again I replace the sensor and valvetonic motor.
      And thank you, for your advice. 🙂

    Where you recommend to buy the parts? Are you in United States? I have same problem but my BMW is automatic and 4 cylinders. Can not find parts for it.

      Mine is an Auto too. I'm in Australia and I get most parts on eBay.

    Is it normal for this fault to cause rough running/vibration especially when accelerating?

    • @brandin8r550
      @brandin8r550 4 месяца назад

      Depending on how busted the Valvetronic Actuator is.
      If it's just the motor your idle will fluctuate and your car will go in limp mode.
      If it's the rail that's grinded down you will get a grinding sound just as you accelerate.

    • @jackpwc01

      Yes, this one was throwing the warning light up and refusing to accelerate. A restart would fix it temporarily

      I didn't need to do any coding. The ECU self learns the end points.
