Loved the video, would you be able to make more videos like your "How much to charge for door replacements or repairs" video, but for other categories like electrical jobs or plumbing jobs? I loved that door video and I learned a lot from it. Keep up the great content, you have helped me a lot!
Thank you for all the content that you put out. I am looking into starting a business this year and I was wondering on the prices you are quoting in your videos such as the basic fee is there sales tax included in that or is it your standard fee plus sales tax? And in addition would the business pay approximately 20% taxes plus the customer sales tax of maybe 10% so a total of 30%? Thanks in advance for your response. I have never owned a business so tryin to figure it all out before taking the leap.
My pricing assumes taxes rolled in. How much you end up paying has everything to do with how good of an accountant you hire and how huge your revenue gets.
Does a corner cabinet sink bottom replacement take you more time? I did one that had all kinds of odd angles, was super deep, and had a small opening because it was a corner cabinet.
For those tricky ones, I make a template of the base using 1/8 hardboard strips 3" wide. Glue them together in place with CA glue, then use a knife to split the template and remove. Cut the new base in 2 - 3 pieces off the template, then finish as Ray had shown. Works for countertops and built in desks/nooks as well.
Good morning. A few videos ago you mentioned “professional insurance”. My agent wasn’t familiar with the terminology/type of insurance that is, unless you’re referring to Errors and Omissions insurance. What company is your insurance provider? I’d like to contact them to find out the details of that professional insurance you were referring to. Thanks!
They call it different things at different companies. Fit me it's "Professional Liability Insurance". Which is mostly to protect you against being sued in various circumstances. It covers most things that do not happen as accidents on the job site during the job
I just got my license for handyman business here in Cali. This year the limit moved up from 500$ to 1000$ without a contractors license. I have everything I need to start but every time im about to advertise my heart starts racing really fast and makes me extremely nervous. Anyone have any advice on how to get over that or their own story about maybe experiencing something similar?
We looked into the jobber AI receptionist. It requires the highest level of jobber which is 130.00 a month. If you are a solo guy this doesn't really make tons of sense at least it didn't for us. We will be sticking to markate because it's 1/3 the price.
Most states you only need to give your tenants 24 hours notice. Landlord and representatives have the right to enter with 24 hours notice for repairs, showings, or inspections. If it’s an emergency no prior notice is required, you usually just have to notify “x person was here on y day for z reason” It’s in most standard leases. If the property isn’t on lockbox I offer to install one or put an electronic deadbolt on @ first visit. If the tenants don’t like it they can buy their own house. My personal leases have a thing that says no security systems allow for this reason. And if you have dogs and they aren’t confined from the work area you get a $125 rescheduling fee taken out of your security deposit which needs to be replenished with next months rent.
Last year I had a tenant who kept doing stuff like “half the electric in the house suddenly stopped working” And my maintenance coordinator would be like, “our electrician will be out tomorrow” And then she’d be like ONLY FRIDAY BETWEEN 7PM AND 9PM NO ONE IS ALLOWED IN THE HOUSE WHEN I’M NOT THERE The first time she denied entry I had a notice to quit nailed to her door the next day and reminded her evictions stay on your credit report for 7 years No one has time for that nonsense.

Yep it does take more time. The one upside is that the angles are almost always 45 degrees exactly

I'm good with whatever works for you sir. For me $130 is 1 hour of work so it pays for itself pretty quickly.

No one has time for that nonsense.
Here it's a 72 hour notice, however, I avoid that when I can. Only for difficult tenants. 99% of the time it's all good.
Resource management! Time IS $, ignore it at your peril.
@@Centercreek thank you sir!
