Mike, I’ve noticed that the shirt you wear is directly related to the topic of the list, but I’m stuck to see the correlation today.
I truly missed you and list 25 because you and personality is the only reason anyone would subscribe and watch. Please dont change anything . Perfection!😍💯
Fun fact:
Toilet paper and paper towels used to be dyed different colors.
When I was a kid, my mom loved buying paper towel with flowers on them and pink toilet paper.
When I was a kid back in the 80s, I remember being in a grocery store and seeing not only white toilet paper, but blue and pink dyed versions. I guess it was popular back then, but definitely kinda weird!
Amazon has a variety of colored toilet paper mostly by Renova., so we’re still doing it
I remember one of my grandparents always had pink or blue toilet paper in the early 90’s
I've always heard that the dyes in colored toilet paper were very irritating so the manufacturers stopped making them. @Darrelladams4148, maybe that Renova company found some gentler dyes.
I liked the patterned kind.
They had green too.
Not only do i remember colored toilet paper, I also remember some of the colored ones being flower scented. That last part may be my own contribution to the Mandela Effect though.
No, some were indeed scented too.
Cool. I only remember that for tissues...I THINK.
Maybe the color made you associate the smell to a floral scent and made you think you were smelling something flowery?
Ok, I did a brief look-up & it's Possible they were scented by the manufacturer. (I didn't actually want to click on any tp related sites, ty) Additional other possibilities: The rolls took on the scent of something stored nearby (like bars of soap in the same closet) or someone else in the household spritzed them. Currently, some people will spray the core with something to have scent that way.
Lots of possibilities
Nope I remember my grandmother always had pink flowered tp that was scented. I remember my mom wouldn't buy it. So always a potty trip at grandma's. Lol.
I was always impressed with your pronunciation of names and places of other languages, but to hear you cold read, Now I'm really impressed!
Kinda mind blowing huh?
he wasant cold reading as in the very next section he mentions he thought it should be on the list. How can he know something should be on the list if he doesnt know whats on the list already
Hi Mike, I picked my nose a lot when I was a little kid, so my mom bought some stuff she would put on my fingers. I'm sure they stopped selling it because it certainly isn't PC these days. This was back in the 60s and it was called Thum. It was made of capsaicin disolved in a little water. Naturally, when the finger is put in the nose (or mouth, eye) it causes intense pain. It was actually sold as a discouragent for thumb sucking. I once was carless wiping my butt and set my nether regions on fire. I really hated the stuff because it got my eyes, mouth and even tounge burning if I wasn't careful. She stopped using it because I just started washing it off. Ahhh.... sweet childhood memories!
I remember Thum😂
I remember this my mother put that on my little sister I always washed it off her majorly bad parenting
When a traffic light turns red, it usually takes at least a few seconds for anybody to respond and then have their car move into the intersection. Chances of you hitting another vehicle immediately after the light turns red are very low
Saturns rings “singing” sounds more like the screams of condemned souls to me
Or the closing title music of British sci-fi series UFO.
It could be hell..I think hell is in the core of the earth
The chances of being attacked by a shark while standing on dry land is very low but never zero.
True 😂
Unless someone hits you with a dead one. 😆
I’ve seen it while fishing.
The chances are better while a member of The Jets dancing in Manhattan’s west side.
It’s guaranteed zero here in Calgary. We are 1045 meters above sea level and 1,000 km away from the ocean
It's actually recently been discovered that the ancient Greeks and Romans also used sea water to mix their concrete. Makes it even more durable.
Not recently
Volcanic ash was another ingredient.
@@xploration1437within the last decade, so recently.
Also fact: the Romans didn’t build the Parthenon.
4:40 - 4:45 Mike saying Huh? to his camera comes across as funny as its like he is not understanding the words coming out of his own mouth, haha.
Toilet paper used to come in pink, green, yellow and blue and also white with colored flowers.
I remember that back in the 70s.
I remember 30 or so years ago that toilet papers in colors was disappearing in stores, for only white
toilet paper, for which I was told that
the dye for colors was removed,
because it could irritate people's skin 😮
I'm surprised it doesn't these days with everyone showing every little item and in their bathroom and kitchen on the internet for everyone to see lol
In the late 70s and early 80s we had colorful toilet paper, or even TP printed with flowers and such. It was meant to match your bathroom decor.
When I was a kid, we had toilet paper that came in different colors. Especially Scottissue had pink, blue, yellow, green and white. We thought that having coordinating tp to our bathrooms were cool. LOL
1:17 it’s called rhinotillexomania. learned that on a mental floss video years ago. i can’t believe there is actually a name for it
The Saturn ring sounds sound like the spacecraft sound in the movie "Forbidden Planet"
Every single time a fact video of any kind says 'you've never heard before', I take it as a personal challenge.
Thank you for this. Interesting indeed. More about insects that I needed to know. But enjoyed the random trivia. P. S. Love the T-Shirt.
I could watch you for hours. Great
Mikey - as Floridians we know how few people actually get bitten by sharks and also by gators. Much less than Hollywood would lead one to think.
The ancient Romans also perfected the art of underwater concrete too.
Sometimes dyslexia is fun... I'd read that as "underwear"
...btw, I'm part Italian. Take that as you will lol
Each planet and moon and sub planet, and dwarf planet, creates a frequency that can be played through radio waves to create an actual sound. Some of them are pretty crazy sounding.
I love this channel, always interesting, cheers Mike and the Team
This is one of the best list of all time great time
When I lived in South America, Bolivia to be specific, the toilet paper was either lavender purple or dark sea green. Nothing else. Although since it was highly recycled there were always tiny little bits of chips of wood or something. I always wondered if this is true in other countries.
It's amazing that you were able to cold read Uranus facts without breaking
Id love to see the blooper reel for that segment
@@Stormsfury777 how is there a blooper real if he is cold reading? in the next section he even mentions he thought the story should be on the list so he knew before hand what the script was
@@cameronliddell9533 actors know their scripts too and bloopers do happen 🤔
@@Stormsfury777 actors arent 'cold readin' tho. They spends months learning their lines.
@@cameronliddell9533 and they don't go back and have multiple takes, even when they nail lines?
It's not Haley's Comet. That misnomer is the result of a old time rock band "Bill Haley and His Comets". It is Halley's Comet named for Edmund Halley who predicted its return.
Nobody mispronounced it because of a band. We all know who it was named for and why. Some people pronounce it with a long A sound instead of a short A, but nobody thinks it was named from some band in the 50s.
Saturns rings make music? It’s very haunting. I like it!!!! 🎉
Toilet paper used to be died years ago by some companies but was discontinued due to it breaking down too slowly, causing septic systems to back up.
Toilet paper used to be colored, scented, and printed with pictures. I think they quit doing that because too many people were sensitive and white is cheaper to make. Same thing with paper towels.
I knew about #21 already. I mentioned it to my therapist and she was like "Well that is an interesting factoid"😂
❤ this channel and don't ever leave Mike. You're an awesome commentator. 😊❤😊
I quit watching this channel when they got rid of Mike and Tristan. It was a really dumb move by the owners, and they suffered for it.
Not only random, but also a rather scary thought, Chimpanzees have advanced to the Stone Age, along with other primates, with Sea Otters not too far behind. This begs the question, how long will it take for Chimpanzees to become intelligent enough to reach the Bronze Age?
This channel is fricking awesome. The narration and music level are superb and the knowledge I gain is appreciated. 🔥👍
21:24 85% of the oceans are still unexplored, 65% of landmass unexplored and at least 15 countries are the least explored. We know very litle of our planet and the stuff we do know, it is only 1% of it.
Source on the 65% of landmass unexplored.
I can clearly recall having pastel-colored TP as a kid in the '80s. Pinkish/beigeish, and maybe pastel blue. All part of decorating your bathroom.
I see Mike 👀 I hit like
Thanks List 25 team!
I like ridiculous random facts
The the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.
They used to put prints on toilet paper. Flowers if I remember correctly. It came in a variety of colors such as green, blue and red. I am not sure why it ended, but there were people that developed allergies to the dye. Not a good spot to have an allergic reaction.
LOL I had my finger in my nose right before the video started 😣
😂☝️👃
Love all these facts you shared, Mike! I already knew a few of them... lol Btw, when you were talking about Uranus(YER-uh-nus lol), you showed Neptune instead. 😆 Being a space nut, I can easily tell the difference between them, buddy... 😏 Also being as such, I especially loved the space facts you shared! I really liked your shirt, too, cute! 😊
Exactly
I noticed that too, gotta get your images correct otherwise us nerds will get a bit anal about it...
@@karmacheese I see whatcha did there :D
True!!
Just some FYI, years ago a Japanese friend told me that saying"Huh?" in Japan can be misunderstood as an aggressive insult.
That was so much fun to watch..❤
Flynn Ryder: the last hair bender.
I went to a summer camp YEARS ago. They used recycled toilet paper that was not the greatest. It was lighter colored than a brown paper bag and felt like using the old hand drying paper to wipe your butt. Not great, but not sandpaper or poison oak so...
As for #1, I have only this to say... Geeze Mike!! Thanks for creeping me out tonight. Now I got that creepy crawlies feeling going up & down my spine. 😣
I was having dinner *retch
When I was younger in the late 60s, we did have a colored toilet paper for a little while. I remember blue, yellow and pink, but they stopped it. For some reason I can’t remember why, but I do remember colored toilet paper.
Moles...I did an illustration essay on them, in science class at school, they are so 🤗.
Once again great list Mike with list 25 keep it up go Bolts ⚡
Great list Mike and team. I knew a few of them, #25 in particular 😂👃☝️
That list kept my attention, Mike.
In a 30mph limit, stopping distance is less that 70 ft
In the UK when the amber shows, if you can stop safely, you should stop
If you're too close to the line and might cause ana accident, you have time to go through amber.
Controlled by a parasite ?
People in the 60's (like me) know that we are controlled by The Numskulls :D
A few years ago: TP, that is bathroom tissue came from the store in pastels of blue, pink and others.
That fact about slaves shook me
I will never be attacked by shark. Do go in ocean. Lol. Love learning all these things. Ty❤
In the UK traffic lights coming in three varieties, set sequences, variable sequences and occasionally request use for pedestrians.
Honestly, since I only recently found your channel, the fact you could read these is a fact!
Considering I've raised over a dozen cats has me slightly concerned about the last fact! But hey if it caused some civilizations to grow and advance then I guess it can't be too bad, eh? lol
Love facts so much, I liked even before watching this!!
I've timed my closest traffic light cuz I walk by it so often. From the moment it turns yellow and the red hand appears there is 6 seconds of yellow before it turns green 💚
*Apparently* in the UK they say it is legal to run an amber light *if* your speed is enough that pulling up would cause an accident
Same here.
Same in Australia. Having said that, if you stop and get rear ended, it’s the car behind that is at fault
@@dudeybagz I see
In the 1970's, I remember pink, blue and yellow toilet paper. Even as a kid, I thought that was weird.
KNEW MANY - OVER ALL VERY GOOD!
Don't forget the great wall has dead bodies in it as well"
Yellow traffic lights means CLEAR the intersection - so no.. Don't ever speed up at yellow lights they are only for crossing if the alternative is emergency breaking..
We NEED TRISTAN BACK too,..
You both are brilliant on cam ❤❤❤
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
Some cool conversation starter's here but I heard one or two before still cool list Mike 👍👍👍
Saturn's rings sound like the soundtrack for Flash Gordon 😂😂
According to Captain Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager.... there's coffee in that nebula. 😆
Mike you are my favorite ❤
@18:09 I believe that is Calgary, Alberta, Canada!
Who is going to deny the satisfaction of picking out a big booger .. lol
23:25 So stargate was right, as far as a parasite controlling us.
Aaaah hah haa, that was some funny, amazing and interesting stuff...well, except the number 10. That is not cool. Nooohh, not the evil parasite 🤣😲😱
Great vid…so 🙏channel’s back in the way it *should be 😉 😉
This is odd about the sticky rice, BECAUSE i just heard last night of this on Tasting History here on you tube
The lost technique to produce true Damascus steel.
Of course I pick my nose. How else do you get those dried boulders out. Sometimes blowing your nose doesn't cut it.
Alright, how, how did they so accurately produce those sounds for 1950s Sci-Fi???
It's uncanny Valley.
Oh wow! I am watching this in the future!
10:08 How can Saturn produce sound if there is no air in space?
I once spilt tea on the ceiling...
My husband and I both love you @Mike Estrin
Actually 2022 was probably my worst year! In January I had botched gallbladder surgery which almost killed me, a month later I had Covid 19 and was isolated in the hospital for two weeks, and then I had a gynaecology procedure where the doctor punctured a hole in my uterus! Px
So sorry all that happened to you. Maybe you'll feel better once you're rich after suing them! God bless 🙏
@@paige-vt8fn Hi Paige, thank you for your good wishes! Px
Hey, what happened to the List25-jingle? That's the second video now that is missing it...
The first time I have seen the encore of a tee shirt _ needed to check the comments to verify it was a recent list _
They made a Family Guy episode about that tax or plasma Gandhi eye stuff. Solid episode, I like when Quagmire plays a role that doesn't have to do with sex
Mike: doesn’t sound need a medium to propagate? If space is a vacuum, how can we hear sounds in space? I do think it sounds cool….just nerding out on the physics behind sound in a vacuum. Love the channel
It's what the probes picked up electromagnetically, and made into a sound we can hear.
Listen to the other planets, and the sun. There's a video on here. Just search what do planets sound like from space.
Number 1 isn’t just the parasite, cats also control lives & we let them!
A Japanese friend told me years ago that saying "Huh?" in Japan can be misunderstood as an aggressive insult.
I can't survive a day without picking my nose at least 50 times.
It’s also easier to see brown with a white background
Greer and them do acid cool didn't know that
20:07 the moment I hit the like button
You should look at how much energy a car has hitting you at 25 mph. More than a .44 mag round.
yes like about sharks. but you are more likely to be killed by a Champaign cork! than a poisonous spider bite.
Yep, you caught me with my finger up my nose...
Huh, or similar may be an early pre complicated langauge, human noise, hence why we all use it.
You're going to need to explain "recycled toilet paper"
I believe its made from recycled paper instead of new paper
but I’ve always been kinda grossed out🤢 by the sound of idea
@@tashahansenpersonalaccount9633 i agree. It sounds disgusting!
We have white, pink, blue, peach and green coloured and coconut oil, aloe Vera scented toilet paper in the UK
I certainly wouldn't want Uranus aimed directly at the Sun, 😂
