I just upgraded from Pioneer AVHX2700BS to AVH2330NEX and the Wire Harness and Remote are interchangeable which is great because the New model was missing those And I didn’t have to rewire anything plug and play well I had to fix a couple things and wired up my Relay brake bypass that doesn’t work on this model 🥴
Just got this radio at best buy for 500 but had the install included. Great unit so far have it in a 2002 lexus gs300 the amp bypass was not an issue sounds great lots of features for audio ... not a lot of cool backgrounds or animations kind of a bummer i always loved those i uploaded my own. have a 1200 watt kicker amp hooked up to 2 10 inch JL w3 subs replacing mids next ...android auto is cool but must have phone on usb to run it. ONLY ONE USB PORT so no android auto and flac files from thumb drive at same time
You say you can use the standard Pioneer wire harness from 2 generations back if it has the tab on the side. I have the pioneer fh-x731bt and thinking about upgrading. Would i be able to use that harness on the new head unit even if its not a NEX model? I checked and the tab is on the side on that one as well.

If you use the apple car play that will only connect with one phone correct? But the bluetooth connects with 2. Just trying to figure out how I can drive and use the hands free features for calls and texts plus navigation while my daughter can play her music. Thanks!

This is the only video I've been able to find of this model opening and tilting the screen. For some reason my unit is completely unable to, the menu doesn't show up when I press the eject button.
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc I removed all mounting brackets and it still wasn't doing anything. I don't think it's a mechanical issue like that, my best guess is the button is broken or disconnected

Great video guys! I am having an issue playing music files and audible with just basic Bluetooth connection. The issue is the audio constantly skips and at times skips about 3sec ahead. With Android auto it's fine though, sounds trivial I know.
I have the 2300 nex. The UI is kind of slow but functional. Wish I could customize more stuff on the display. But the thing that counts the most is very good. The sound is is great. 13 band eq. So many ways to adjust the sound. My car sounds like a live concert now. It's awesome!

+Jacques Jones we have never used anything but what they come with. You may want change the location. For cameras check out Echomaster, some have parking lines you can use. The radios lines are only for reverse.
Are there any known issues with this model and iPhones using the CarPlay function? Mine seems to freeze up after 10 minutes or so and disconnect. Thanks!

I have a AVH-2300-NEX. I have updated to firmware 8.32 When connected by bluetooth I've noticed that the stereo displays the album art for the last played song rather that the current song being played. When connected by USB in Apple CarPlay mode the album artwork for the current song is displayed. I tried an MP3 meta tag editor application to try to clean up my files, but the problem still persists.
The usb is in the back so that means the installer never installed a port on my dash and I have no access to it. Is that right. Is that right? How else can I get Car Play without having the port.
Which harness would you recommend to maintain the OEM backup camera on a 2017.5 nissan murano? Thats the only thing that is keeping me from upgrading my head unit.

+Justin Forrester I would look at using the PAC harness or the iDatalink. There is a second harness need to retain RSE( rear seat entertainment) and backup camera with both. If the USB is in the glove box it can be retained, if it is in the armrest no. The armrests cable is to long for data transfer to function reliably.
Okay. I'm still looking into getting a new radio. And the 2330 is what I'm liking. But is this the only one that lags to? Like in the video. Because it also lagged at BestBuy.
Are there some other less expensive models that have APP radio live? Is APP radio live a feature of "car play" ? All Im after is a map capability on the radio's big screen.
Wireless car play uses WiFi to communicate between the phone and the radio. A receiver would be built into the radio like in the Pioneer 4500. All other radios it is done over usb.
One question can u play a DVD movie so the rear passenger can watch the movie in the back with the headrest monitors and listening to music at the same time in the front?

You need to get an adapter for it. Depends on which car you have. Try searching on Crutchfield.com - If you select your car and then go to the page for this radio, it also lists all the other installation hardware, including the steering wheel control adapter.
@@jamesmcgill6505 Tam said there is no steering wheel controls. I'm in the same situation. The iDatalink won't help there (and isn't even available for my car). I know some radios in the past came with a remote you could mount to the steering wheel, and something universal like that would be handy.
I have an issue where it locks for safety while trying to scroll my playlist in android auto using google play music how can you bypass this? its annoying scrolling 5 songs then having to pick a song to be able to scroll down more ...same with phone book..
+Junk star have you done the bypass on the lt.green break wire? If so it might be the phones gps knowing you are moving and locking you out. There would be no way to change that with out some sort of hack to the phone.

Check to make sure your side screws are not to tight

You can format thumb drives with NTFS and store files larger than 2GB

What are the chassis dimensions of the MVH-2300NEX? Same as the 4100/4200/4201NEX, which is a near impossible fit in my Fiat 500.
