Pat, I ask MT and my husband every AM what they want to eat in the evening !!! Still old school. I Share the podcast all the time !!! Rossetta honey cookie, made by my Sicilian great aunts and taught to my Basilicata nonna and my mom!!! My Salerno side had sausage and peppers after midnight mass. Sorry you say rossetta later in podcast. NOTE: My grandmothers left Italy to ensure their children could learn to read and write and their grandchildren graduate college and post graduate degrees. Books were always a Christmas and Birthday gift in my family !! Need to read a book not a device as written books make the eye muscles work harder and strengthen eye muscles very important for children also turning the pages of book for hand muscle strengthening and muscle grading.
Those ribbon cookies are a Polish dessert with a "close enough" dough used in pignolata (struffoli), rosettes, etc that it was a crossover dish in many ethnic enclaves across the country.
The whole while I was amazed at how much Francesco looks like Sal Vulcano of Impractical Jokers. Content was good, just wished you had spent more time on the specifics surrounding Italian Christmas Eve. Smelts, calamari, fennel, cardoon, castagne, scopa, briscola, cartellate pastries, struffoli, etc. It's all good guys.
Love to be on this show and tell my family story
