Please could do a video on ways to recharge a degassed bar magnet. There is such a lack of explanation on this topic. I found less pull on all my vintage guitar pickups and one that I recently bought on an SG was completely degaussed and weak sounding.
If you putting a magnet for the first time or you pulled old magnet out and don't know which side is which, how do you know on what side to put the magnet in?
I've been trying this on a P90, actually flipping the magnets, but the magnets won't budge when I try to move them. What do you think may be the cause? Thanks very much for any help! Cheers, Oleg.
i changed the magnet of my bc rich pickup to an alnico V magnet and now it needs more gain to keep up with the distorted sound of the original magnet but it gives noisy feedback to do so, what could be causing this and what should i do?
Opiates have a very distinctive effect on the vocal chords of the user. Ive been clean about 8 years but its still something i have to work at everyday. Anyways, great video. After im done building a morning glory (parts will be here tomorrow) im going to try and A8 in the JB i put in my schecter about 5 years ago.
if you use a magnetized screwdriver to adjust the pole pieces will that degauss the magnet as well? or would it be too far away/weak to really cause damage?
Evidentially there wasn't any wax on the inside-top of the cover. But then again, this wasn't lets say an actual Gibson Pickup/Cover, because they're usually waxed & also have a piece of tape to cover the ''Posts-Side'' of the Pickup, which eliminates any vibration, inside between the coils & the cover.... Just sayin, but great video anyways....
There's enough focus and info to do the job . Thanks for posting . It's a darn sight cheaper to change a magnet than a pickup , plus it can be done without pulling the harness if you cover the guitars surface.

A solder sucker would help in removing the solder to avoid the mess. ✌️

Wax potting probably. You'll need to have the pickup submerged in wax to stop the coils from vibrating. That's a service I provide.

What is better magnetized or demagnetized?
Unmagnetised magnets won't do anything in a pickup. If you mean degaussed, that's a matter of taste and there's no definitive answer.
You de-gauss the magnets if you push same polarity to one side.... test with a compass or use the Hall sensor on those horrible mobile phones....
Not a problem with alnico magnets if they're not held too closely together, P90s for instance have opposing polarities barely 5mm from each other.

Rubbish. You won't damage a thing. Just use common sense. This is easy af. Done this so many times. 😂
