This is my first time trying perm rods and I don't think it came out too bad! What do you guys think?

I never comment on videos but thought it would be helpful to let you know the reason why your rods weren't as tight as they could be. Its the placement of the part that snaps the top closed. If placed over the outside of the hair it will stay tight and in place...no gaps and no frizz

I was hesitant when I did them my first time....took forever and a day for them to dry..but the results!!!!!! The curls were poppin!!!!
They take sooo long! But the results are definitely worth it 🙌🏾🙌🏾

@@g_o_d_esigns Oh see no!! I went home for my big 50 last September Washington DC. I put my natural 3c hair in braids. Humidity doesn't play & I didn't have time for that nonsense. I live in Los Angeles now but, when I lived in DC I had a relaxer. My hair and scalp literally sweats in humid weather.
When someone comes up with a serum to beat New Orleans humidity, they'll be a BILLIONAIRE! Now this is some disrespectful humidity!😁

The key to doing the perfect perm rod set is to put the string part when u are about to lock it is to put it closer to your hair instead of behind your hair if that makes any sense lol to get it tighter to the root! Your hair came out absolutely beautiful tho!!!

Yes, you're only doing it wrong if you want it to the scalp. It's kind of the way you rap the black band around the roller then snap it, it kind of tightens the hold if that makes sense. 😁

I loved your video. I wanted to share that I went to the salon just a few days ago and got a rod set. Cost me $135. They told me that it should last about 3 weeks. I maintained it as instructed. Hah! A few days later, with the humidity, it wasn't worth it. After seeing your video, heck, I know that I can do it myself. I appreciate your video so much. You look gorgeous.
