This video and the track are so iconic but unfortunately so few people have seen it. I hope this is discovered at some point. I bought this LP (excellent). Didn’t know they had broken up. Too bad.
Gutted at the events that have transpired and led to the band splitting up. I thought they still had a massive future ahead and Microshift was still only the beginning.
Shame.
It sucks so hard doesn't it? I got into this record and saw them live at Beatherder and it was insane. Sad to think we'll not hear anymore from them as this record is something of a masterpiece.

I just heard them and then within the week of falling in love, if found they broke up. So sad.
@@ngoozi Lead singer was apparently abusive to his ex girlfriend and when it all came out the rest of the band didn’t want to carry on working with him so they disbanded the group
@@stormyclouds8409 Yeah, I think that is correct. Well done to the rest of the band. They gave up a good future with that decision. Respect. I am keeping my eye out for their future projects.

Matthew Johnson (MJ), compositor y productor de la banda Hookworms ha editado este disco después de que se le inundara su estudio de trabajo, lo que causó la pérdida de su equipo de música, instrumentos, objetos personales e innumerables recuerdos. Tras la adversidad toma las riendas de un proyecto mientras la vida le azota sin misericordia a causa del fallecimiento de un amigo muy cercano, que cuenta en "Negative Space" y afronta la terrible enfermedad del alzheimer de su padre que narra en "Ullswater". Ante todas estas lamentables situaciones no es de extrañar que haga un ejercicio de superación con sus propios problemas psicológicos en "Static Resistance" u "Opener". Este tercer álbum de la banda se tiene que grabar gracias a donaciones, mucho coraje y ánimos.
Microshift" contiene noise pop, garage, dance-punk y sonido industrial. Sonidos próximos a LCD Soundsystem, Phoenix, Arcade Fire y un tono bailable absolutamente irresistible. Conociendo las situaciones personales vividas el disco adquiere más valor, porque es medicina en sí mismo. "Microshift" contiene nueve canciones como los anteriores discos y su duración total es de 45 minutos. Psicodelia y rock unidos de la mano por sus bases electrónicas con unas guitarras repletas de efectos relacionados con el kraut, con una producción más cuidada que nunca.
