@ Don't think United have ever been that way. Onana is only getting to keep his place because GK is a hard one to drop. You don't want to kill the guys confidence further by dropping him but at this point, I don't see any other alternative either. Bayindir isn't a better keeper but should be high in confidence at the moment which we should capitalize on. A great keeper can save you 7-9 points in a season which we desperately need.

You will rethink that 3421 by force. There's a reason most managers stay away from it. It creates gaps in behind and on the wings if the play isn't fluid enough for players to recover if caught in transition. Lisbon never kept clean sheets. Their advantage was outscoring the opponent. Problem is, United doesn't have the personnel to do that. Any formation must appraise your strengths. This formation, for this squad, adds nothing. You're neither defending well nor attacking well. So what's the use? At least with Ten Hag the biggest problem was just not converting. Not scoring enough goals. But with this system, nothing is working.

You will rethink that 3421 by force. There's a reason most managers stay away from it. It creates gaps in behind and on the wings if the play isn't fluid enough for players to recover if caught in transition. Lisbon never kept clean sheets. Their advantage was outscoring the opponent. Problem is, United doesn't have the personnel to do that.
Any formation must appraise your strengths. This formation, for this squad, adds nothing. You're neither defending well nor attacking well. So what's the use? At least with Ten Hag the biggest problem was just not converting. Not scoring enough goals. But with this system, nothing is working.

Besides, saying Sporting never went clean sheet when it had one of the best defenses of the league and the best attack is really not honest. Try this instead. Be realistic about things as Amorim is doing and be honest. There has been very little time to implement the system, the players were absolutely corrupted by Ten Had with his personality and attitude, the Club has serious infrastructure problems to solve and the right time to do this is now because it's better sooner than later. Amorim will put this team working properly, as it always should have been, instead of fomenting an ego as of Ten Hag, who disrespected legends of the club and created a very bad environment on the team. Team is recovering, step by step. Needs new blood besides Amorim and money needs to be spend. Once everything is back in place, Man United will be a powerhouse and all these comments will be forgotten. Saying that doesn't have personnel to outscore the opponent and Sporting did is absolutely ridiculous. Sporting didn't start to win everything with Amorim after 10 or even 20 games. People have short memory, the same group of players couldn't play in 433 formation and the very same group of players just costed EtH his jobs barely 3 months ago. It's not the system, it's the player.
@ I don't agree totally. Yes, the players are the problem but they are the problem because this is how they have been managed in the previous years by Ten Hag. Team has no spirit, no connection, no instinct. Absolutely nothing, and that's not because of players, that's because of the coach who didn't want them to be United but to be some sort of Dutch team, cold and without mistakes (as if that would ever be possible). People in Manchester though Ten Had would bring joy and youth to the club but he did exactly the opposite. He bough restrictiveness and mechanical football, killing many of the natural instincts of the players. See Rashford, who was a very creative player and became a dull one. It's almost criminal what Ten Hag did to this club. And it's sad that Amorim will have to speak that language before he starts to be himself. Amorim is a joyfull person and we've seen him being so restrictive and demanding because players don't understand other language at this time. Sporting was such a happy, organized, free team, such a beautiful football to watch. I bet Amorim cannot wait for such days to come at United, but for the time being, he's been very right about everything and United is on the right path to become a great team again. Just that these ghosts of the past and this way of being in life that Ten Hag left as heritage are really though to handle.
