Death Snail Roles:
The Death Snail - One player spawns as the Death Snail. This player is the size of a snail and is armed with a knife. Goal: Eliminate the Prey
The Prey - Other players will spawn as a human with a machine gun . Goal: Eliminate the Death Snail
The Prey with a Big Gun - One player will spawn with a shotgun loaded with three rounds. Goal: Eliminate the Death Snail.

Y’all need prey classes for this, like the chef throws salt on the floor that hurts the snail if they walk over it, the golfer has cleats that damage the snail if he steps on them, etcetera.
EDIT: people seem to like this so here are a couple more
-The Australian: resistant to snail damage (needs to be stabbed more than most) but has a knife, so this person needs to get into a knife fight with the snail.
-The Gunner: this is the guy who gets a shotgun, and is its own class. Maybe he can also get some grenades. or like one grenade.
-Leucochloridium: if the snail kills this player, the snail starts glowing, and can be seen through walls.
Edit 2: alright I had a slow shift so let’s get the big guns out:
Each class has some passive benefit, and most have an active, the active would be like right click or something, to recharge the active they need some number of props, similar to the props in murder to get more guns.
Classes:
Chef: heals whenever they get a prop, active throws salt caltrops that hurt snail, takes 2 props to recharge.
Golfer: stepping on snail damages snail, active causes snail to golf clap giving away its position, 1 prop recharge (golf swing seemed underpowered and weird to program)
Gunner: has shotgun, active gives him a grenade that after like 2 seconds explodes, killing basically anyone, takes 3 props to charge and does not start round charged (others do)
Australian: has knife, takes reduced snail damage, and can see the slime trails as arrows showing the direction of travel (thanks for the last one almighty smorg in comments)
Leucocloridium: on death makes snail glow through walls, active makes props glow through walls, 2 props to recharge. (cost management)
Gamer:explodes into salt caltrops on death (relatable) and active gives him a 2 second invincibility, but he is dodge rolling for all of it, 1 prop recharge.
Other people have had some good snail variety options in the comments, and I will leave that glory to them.
That's a great idea. And maybe different kinds of snails too. One with like a super jump maybe or one that can do a random teleport. And maybe a random chance for a giant snail with mega health.

@@calebgoodfellowcg we could get snails based on real ones with crazy shit with em. Like one's poisonous and has a DoT aura or like the one that can shoot a poison dart.
The genuine panic every time the snail is spotted has to be my favorite part.

To add on, what about 1 snail, but 1 exterminator (shotgun/ poison spray) also? Nobody can see who the exterminator is (or maybe just the snail can't) and they've got more health.
Would it be better or worse iyo to have the snail be initiated? Like everyone is innocent until the snail activates themself (can't be deactivated) and then the exterminator is assigned so they don't know there's a snail until the snail starts snailin' it up; similar to zombies.
Or, everyone is a snail, good or bad.

In terms of gameplay, any game tops death stranding. It deserves a lot of credit, but dammit that game was disappointing.

Do the reverse, where all the innocents are snails, and they are slightly slower than the murderer, who is human, but they have the ability to climb and mantle on vertical surfaces and hide in small spaces. The murderer has an advantage in a chase, and but has to search for the snails

I came expecting TTT. I stayed because of course I did
Sage Sarrazine me too. I liked this but wish it was TTT
I thought it would be like this:
- Snail has a TON of health - only possible to kill snail if everyone shoots it for a long time.
- It moves at a slower speed, around 75% of a regular player.
- Map is one that leaves you easily able to be cornered - maze maps for example.
- snail is able to one-shot kill.
To Ryan: A Furry that's into snails is obviously a Slimey.
To Lindsey: Your "Escargot to hell!" is appreciated even though nobody heard it in the video.

I absolutely know this is a reference to one of Gavin's RTAA moments, but I can't stop thinking about the snails in the Throne of Thunder raid in WoW.
This is the culmination of a dumb hypothetical scenario that Gavin came up with on the podcast.
And I love it.
Something that could help with those match-starting insta-deaths would be to delay the Snail spawning to some time after the Hunted, similar to the Hunters in Prop Hunt. Even a small delay of just 5 seconds would go a very long way in this regard.
Also, still waiting for some part of this to be animated.

another great addition would be to give one of the prey a container of salt, that they could draw lines that would act as traps for the snail, either hurting or slowing it
There should be a gun that shoots salt that instant kills the DeathSnail but you only have one bullet

Now that I'm watching this back, I see that it is essentially a version of the Hidden. TTT and Murder are great, but it would be nice for them to throw in a Death Run or Hidden now and again.

As far as I can see the only problems with this is that the Death Snail is slightly too strong.
To fix this, I’d recommend slightly slowing down the snail , not too much just slightly, enough that it’s still fast but not “I physically cannot follow you” fast
Two other possibilities are:
Increase the damage the guns do
Or
Reducing the Snail’s health slightly.
Any of these should balance the game.
I’m greatly enjoying this mode and wish to see more.

When I saw the title, I imagined a mode where the snail moved at snail speeds but was invulnerable, idea being to avoid a very slow killer you can barely see, and cant kill, for a certain amount of time.

I'd either add a time limit, so if the prey survive long enough they win, or I'd make it so everyone starts with machine guns but is eventually given a shotgun after enough time passes.

edit : I have now realized after looking back into the video, Michael's done a few double jumps as well. I guess this was something new implemented but it's nice to see it

This is fun but it doesn't have the element of paranoia that TTT engenders
it is honestly missing what makes Gmod fun for me atleast, its a bit to Chaotic. no that there is anything wrong then that but usually the most fun part about Gmod its the mind games,the interactions and stuff.
