When I saw that episode, and especially this scene, ten years ago, I thought : okay, this is the most epic TV show I've seen. Then came the following seasons...
"When I killed Nathan he had already turned against his own kind" He killed Nathan at the end of season 4, after he lead the government hunt against people with abilities. This was season 1, don't know if the writers had all already plan from the beginning or just a lucky coincidence.
Nathan was always on edge against others with powers. Was pretty much his character. Like HRG and Claire having a fight, then forgive and hug. I wouldn't say it's a coincedence, since they set the character up to act that way. Bound to happen one way or another, regardless of timeline.
Ahh the good old days when fans of the show went _nuts_ because we were all _convinced_ that one day we'd see a powered-up Peter versus a powered-up Sylar and...we never really got it.
The reason is because Sylar is no match for Peter's powers once he's fully mastered them. Space-Time Manipulation and Telepathy in particular can completely disable Sylar and there's nothing he can do about it except if he also has those powers himself.
@@TKGriffiths Sylar still owned Peter in most of the fights in the series. Sylar has resisted telepathy before, though Space Manipulation could probably win the day for Peter.
I know right!!!! I was ALWAYS waiting for a total knock out drag out battle between Sylar and Peter, that would have been epic, I wonder if the show didn't have it in the budget for that much special effects ot would have required lol
@@TKGriffiths While i know its plot i feel like season 2 gave him a good reason to be fearful of using hiros powers. After all his girlfriend was wiped out of time and lost forever.
@@tony46126 Later revealed Sylar could copy powers from others too. Cutting heads open just seems to a) make him able to master it faster b) making sure the other one die - making him more "special", which is all he cared about
RyZeR xWolf I don’t know how much power they both had accumulated in the future, but what about them both having Claire’s power ? Wouldn’t that make it hard for them to kill each other ?
It is an epic scene but there's a reason it cuts away quickly. It's so the viewers don't have time to think and realize 'wait a minute, why doesn't Peter or Hiro simply freeze time and cut his head off'.
That's the big downside of having such a high-concept show but only having a TV-sized budget. Whenever a lot of expensive action or SFX are needed, it's cheaper to just cut away.
I swear to Christ, Peter makes some of the wierdest fucking facial expressions I’ve ever seen. It’s like he’s trying to do his best to impersonate Sylvester Stallone.
Kylo is still alive the nakamura thing wad used to get his powers taken and then used, by two fakes via dev anand me , Nathan's body could be resuscitated via an alrernate timeline and future avatar like devo , flash tv series was based on heroes which i invented
In reality cylre was petleinni and could control his powers he could control absorption via analysis and likely could do legion power nexus like i could for some time while adj were programmed with the result , aanthur would store entire power as is in sandboxes and limited it to tactile on intent transfer - i am the busimaen : itd be nice for sirkhaayelaary 's original me to have anthurs control insread of transmuted empathy that was usdd to control me ibwould rather understand than empathise
i used to kept thinking the reason we didn't see the full fight of future Peter vs Sylar b'coz they want to design a very great fight, u know, the 2 ultimate mutants that have multiple abilities would be like battle of gods, but, it turned out it nvr happen, especially since Peter was downgrade into can only mimic one ability at a time, surely no match for the mighty Sylar
There's a very good reason these fights never happen, because Sylar is no match for Peter or even Hiro once they've fully mastered the space-time manipulation ability as they have in this future. They can simply freeze time and cut Sylar's head off whenever they please, That's the trouble with Hiro's ability being so overpowered, they wrote themselves into a corner and eventually had to either kill or remove the power from every character who possessed it.
@@TKGriffiths i agree with u, but, if we take account of what a hero is, both Hiro or Peter won't do such a thing. Capture maybe, killing accidentally by freezing time absoluetly not.
@@TKGriffiths Sylar broke free of Hiro's time freeze by hearing his heartbeat. No reason to assume Sylar's powers haven't also grown in the future to the point where he can still break free.

This is the most evenly powerful that both Peter and Sylar had ever been on the show, and we don't even get to see the fight. Now ain't that a bitch!
