If I can't smell a scent I change it out no matter how long it has been going. I want scents that are strong AND long lasting. But I am usually bored by the 3rd day.
I have a mixed approach. I have been a scentsy customer for 13 years but I stuck to what I knew. Then I fell into a bit of a you tube scentsy rabbit hole. I found you and Linda H and Robyn and Martha and Elizabeth and Lisa. And I started venturing out in my scent selections. Your videos explaining how to start with a single cube and have a consistent testing area was so helpful. So It’s kind of unfair to compare what I do to what you do because you have taught me so much. 😂 It’s because of you that I ventured into my first brick this year. I have some scents like Mint to be Merry that I will keep in for days because they evolve into beautiful new things as the warm. Some like Cozy Cardigan and Forever Flannel are so consistent and keep them for days as well. In my open concept I have a few that last for 2-3 days but most of the time I change it daily. Thanks for all you do!
@@PatriciaG-NosetoToes If there is one thing I know from those 13 years … it’s that Silver bells never disappoints me and it’s totally ok to warm it any time of year. 🤣❤️🙌
Oh boy…. You and I sound like the same person! I came to UTube when I wanted to learn more about Scentsy and wasn’t getting the answers from my consultant at the time. I fell down the rabbit hole too 😂 but it’s ok.
I’m a sahm and spend most of my time at home, which does impact this! I change my main floor wax every morning, while my tea steeps. I use as little wax as possible to smell it (usually 1 cube to the warmer, never more than 2) so I can enjoy it and not feel wasteful when I want something new the next day. The variety keeps my same-old-home feeling new. :) Bedrooms, basement rec room, and laundry room are only on when someone is in the room so they stay in until they give up. My four kids are all teens and young adults, so they run their own warmers to their own preferences.
Great job on the flat bottoms! I like to change wax after it’s run it’s course- typically day 2 or 3 in my house with warmers in maybe 8-10 hours a day.
Look at you go through all that old wax, good work. Impressive. I run my warmers 24/7 and normally change them out every morning. But, if they can go longer at a reasonable level of scent throw I will keep them another day or two. I never let the scent completely die out. Scentsy, I know you are watching this, you need to bring back Icicles and Evergreen in Cleaning products, excellent performer.
Omg - Ivicles & Evergreen bathroom cleaner scents the bathroom so nicely! If I came across it in a sale I’d definitely buy more. I’m basically reaching for my oldest wax first and keeping track as I diminish. One example of a mess up is ordering Blackberry Meringue in June 2022 but the pour date (easily visible) is June 2018! So I’m trying to go by pour dates if possible, then clamshell “hints”, or purchase history on my workstation to help tell me the date / time frame.
Great empties! I just warmed Mint To Be Merry for the first time. I had Marshmallow Mint in the club I lost & haven’t had a chance to get it back. I prefer that one. I liked the marshmallow sweetness better than the butter cookie in Mint to Be Merry. Sometimes I’ll change out all my warmers at once after 2 days even if it has some lingering scent. Usually though I choose good performers for my living room so I can leave it maybe 3 even 4 days. I’m finding that the bakery scents don’t last as long (especially the more recent pours) so I have to swap out the wax in my kitchen after 24 hrs. My bedroom wax can last 3 full days & if I’m loving the fragrance I’ll leave it. So basically a mixed bag - sometimes waiting until it dies sometimes getting bored so I change it. I find a lot of scents start smelling waxy or “one note” after a couple of days of warming.
I’m happy to know that someone else can see MM and Mint to be Merry are different. I was starting to think I was losing my mind! I definitely prefer Marshmallow mint
I typically change out wax every other day. Sometimes I will have a really long lasting one in a bathroom that I will leave but that's more the exception. A definite exception is my bedroom. I only turn those warmers on in the evening so they last usually about a week before changing. Of course, if I'm struggling with scent appeal, the wax will only stay in the warmer as long as I can possibly stand it lol! A lot of great wax in the empties this time. Thank you for sharing :)
Most of the time I probably change my wax before it is truly DONE. I want to be able to clearly smell a scent when I walk into the room. I know how most of my favorites perform so I generally know if that will be 1, 2, or 3 days. A few scents could go past 3 days (running 24 hours) but I almost always want to move on at that point. 😊
Yes I also rely on memory for 1,2, 3 dayers. Especially when I’m getting ready to warm the Tester Tuesday winners - I make sure I pick scents that don’t last long so it doesn’t interfere with the start of my testing
I usually change it when I can't smell it anymore but Saturday and Sunday when I have a full house, I always have fresh wax. Also, I do something you do that you mentioned in a recent video. If there is any wax that has a decent scent, I'll put that together in one warmer and then put new in all the others.
🦃✨️ Great job on the flat bottoms! I've been working on mine as the seasons go, but some I need to hang onto until they come back in BBMB! (Apple Smores) 🦃✨️ In answer to your question, I change my wax every other day regardless if there is still scent. I have too much wax, and I've been coming across some that are going bad or scents I've fallen out of love with. (I either give those away or throw them out) I'm trying to get to a point where we are just warming club bars. Hopefully, at some point, I will get caught up!
I normally change my wax out every 2 days.. unless it’s a favorite and I can still smell it. Thanks for sharing! My Christmas choices are… Cranberry Garland, Icicles and Evergreen, Apple butter frosting, Carmel Chestnut and Redberry and Spruce
Im all over the place…. If I love the scent I wait till it dies…. Some I can’t stand get taken out ASAP…. Sometimes my mood tells me to change the scent even if it’s not totally done….
I work from home so it's normally a daily activity. If something is going well I'll leave it alone especially in the bedroom. But, I have to much wax to not be changing stuff regularly 😉
I change my wax when the smell is no longer noticeable when I walk into the room. Usually that’s everyday but some scents last two days for me like Cashmere and Corduroy and Cinnamon Pinecones. Those types of scents I’ll leave for two days. Bakery is a day for me. Somtimes when a scent gets lighter I’ll light a candles that complements it. The Cinderella bar is an exception and I leave that in my bathroom for 3 days. It lasts for a long long time.
Hello! In response to the end of your video: I prefer strong scents for my living area and bathroom so that I don’t have to change out daily. I let them go until they are done. I prefer to change my scents in the Bedroom every day.

The ones that I can leave in for 2 or 3 days are definite keepers because they’re hard to come by. Those really help balancing out the strong ones that last only one day.
Great empties Patricia. It must feel good to get rid of the old stock. My Christmas scent was always Silver Bells, Christmas eve n day. But this year I got a first ever brick of Christmas cottage, so I am thinking that will be it. I have candy cane buttercream going right now in my clean bedroom. So disappointed. Have a great week.😊
My faves stay in for days.......Cashmere and Corduroy, Sunburst Bamboo, Fresh Cut Daisies are some of my favourites. Similar to what others are saying I am more inclined to change ones I like less sooner
My husband can usually smell it longer than I can- I must go noseblind quicker. I keep it about 3 days and then change it whether he can smell it or not. I lean towards clean fresh scents so they tend to be stronger and I’m ok with that.
I change my wax out every 2 days no matter as I get bored of the scents and also I have so much wax to use up that I need to change it out every other day or my wax stash would just keep building and be overwhelming.
I just ordered 2 bars of stroopwaffle in the sale Friday to try for the first time i also grabbed 1 bar of Bee My Honey to try and 3 bars of Breakfast in Bed which is an absolute fave that i stupidly didnt club. I usually wait until i cant smell a scent to change it out unless I'm really craving warming something then i change it out early.
Great choices for your Scents of the Season! ❤ For bedrooms, bathrooms, & our laundry, I prefer to change the wax just once a week. I allow myself to change the wax as a reward for deep cleaning the bathrooms!😂 And I usually reward myself with a wax change in the bedroom/laundry when I am doing and putting away laundry. 😂 My husband is happy that something motivates me so he doesn't have to do thise chores. That is also when I listen to the majority of my favorite RUclipsrs. It's the little things that I NEED to keep me motivated! Open concept is whenever it is too light, but ideally I would change it only every 2-3 days. We are still solidly in fall scents in our home. I won't switch to Christmas scents until after our Thanksgiving festivities. Have a great week! Smiles, Abby Smith
I usually let it go until I can’t smell it. When i am participating in the wax challenge I changed it daily regardless … Many times the scent was still present. Great empties. 😊
I rotate my wax melting challenge areas, so just one room might have todays melt and a different room with tomorrows melt etc. I’m so happy you’re trying it out! It helps me pick wax I’ve been avoiding. (Even though I run it 🤣)
I don't warm more than 2 cubes in a room at a time usually, so when a scent runs a day it usually stops smelling like the original scent and I change it the next day. There are exceptions though, quiet grove I can run off and on for days and days.
I change my wax every day upstairs because I spend most of my time upstairs. Downstairs I’ll let it go for a few days unless I can’t smell it anymore then I’ll change it
Generally I change my wax out every other day. Occasionally it will go for 3 days, I could have been busy and just wanted to go home so ill get to it the next day (that's if its a stronger scent)
I'm not a seasoned consultant yet, so my picks for a Holiday bundle would be Christmas Cottage - Spice VSSpruce - Woods Silver Bells - Fresh Cranberry Cardamom - Fruity And DABread - Bakery, by far the only bakery I've enjoyed that didn't smell like pumpkin.
I change mine out every 2 days. There is a rare occurrence that I change it after 1. But I did change it after 1 last week because I couldn’t smell pink poinsettia after a couple of hours.
I let scents almost run out before I change them. I don't melt them when I'm not home, so a scent can last all week or barely last a day if I'm at home all day.
I just about always let my wax run its course. I don't expect the rooms to be filled with fragrance all the time though and tend to start warming on days when I want a little boost/special treat knowing that it won't stay that way for ever :)
Normally I wait until the wax runs out of scent unless it's one of those that just goes and goes and goes. Then I'll change it when I get sick of it (usually after 3 or 4 days)
Depends on the scent honestly. If I can’t smell it I changed it out no matter how long it’s been going. If I absolutely love the scent and still smell it ( even if it means sitting next to it 😂) I leave it until I can’t smell it anymore. And if it’s a scent that just keeps on going….. I replace when I’m bored with it.
My approach is to change the wax Friday night before bed. So on Saturday morning I turn on fresh wax every week, I don't use the warmers that much during the week while I am at work. Every once and a while I do have to change wax early, if the wax was a "one day wonder" kind of scent. If I change wax early I will run the warmers while I am at work because I like to stick to the change over on Friday night schedule.
I have a mixed approach. If I’m loving the scent, I will let it run its course. But, more often than not, a scent will lose scent faster than I would get bored with it. 😊
I usually don’t change my wax until the scent is gone. I may remove it earlier if it develops something my nose is sensitive to. An example was Forever Fall that came in a Whiff Box, it was fine the first day or two then I could really smell the cinnamon which I don’t like so I removed it.
I usually don’t change mine until I can’t smell it at all. I’ve been trying to let myself change it if it’s not very strong anymore because I have soooo much wax to get through 😂
I have four warmers and change wax about every four days ( some scents could go longer!). I started doing this to use up full bars. I enjoyed doing the daily wax challenge but I never got to empty my clams and I want to buy new scents but just don’t have the space 😢
I usually let the wax run it’s course and as soon as I can’t smell it, it’s gone like the wind lol ( I got too much choices to have warmers with wax I can’t smell) if it seems rancid or “off” like those scents I’ve have for a while, then it’s outta there as well. Halloween town I have had that experience with certain bars. “roll of dice” on cold smells like b/o😬It has a weird note, but I warmed it in the bathroom and it was ok. Good job on those bricks 👏🏽👏🏽I’m tryin too! 😊💜
Thank you for sharing your wax melting journey with us. To answer your question, it depends on how much I like or not the fragrance. If I like it…. I want to enjoy it to the last second of lifespan!!! If I’m not feeling it… I’ll change it sooner !! 😂
I usually change my wax when I can no longer smell it. Unless its a scent I don't like, then it comes out sooner. Lol I tried frosty air in my laundry room the other day and after an hour I had to shut it off. Nope! Don't like it! 😂
At times but I'm training him well. If he's at work and I'm home I have everything going but turn a few off just before he gets home. He does seem to not mind the lighter scents. He likes Wassail Wonderland which I am so/so on.
I change my wax everyday. 95% of the time there isn't any noticeable scent left to me. I don't know how y'all can go so long. I wish I could go longer.
I wait till I can't smell anything because I want to make sure I'm getting my money's worth and I also don't want to give myself a headache by overdoing it
I do a mix of change out and let it go, depending on how much I like a scent and my mood. I’ve found that quite a few scents turn perfumey to me on day 2, so I just go ahead and change. I’m also switching more often these days, and especially this month, just wanting to finish up as much as possible before Christmas scents start full-force. And trying to get my stash back under control, because there was so much new I tried this season!!
Scents of the Season - Patricia’s choices
Apple butter frosting
Blue Christmas
Candy cane wishes
Cozy Spice
Snowkissed Cranberry
I forgot about Candy Cane Wishes, it’s been so long I forgot what it smells like lol

I try wait till runs out or have b close to smell....but, if i get shipment on something i cant wait 2 try well then i call it done!😅
lol - it’s hard to be patient
My approach is to change the wax Friday night before bed. So on Saturday morning I turn on fresh wax every week, I don't use the warmers that much during the week while I am at work. Every once and a while I do have to change wax early, if the wax was a "one day wonder" kind of scent. If I change wax early I will run the warmers while I am at work because I like to stick to the change over on Friday night schedule.
What are sone of your one day wonders (if you can recall)?

Hi Patricia! Good to see ya! Have you ever shown your audience how and where you store your wax and brick bars? Just curious!
No I have not. It’s my little secret
I have a mixed approach. If I’m loving the scent, I will let it run its course. But, more often than not, a scent will lose scent faster than I would get bored with it. 😊
Thanks for sharing Laura
I usually don’t change my wax until the scent is gone. I may remove it earlier if it develops something my nose is sensitive to. An example was Forever Fall that came in a Whiff Box, it was fine the first day or two then I could really smell the cinnamon which I don’t like so I removed it.
Forever Fall was not a repurchase over here either
Most times I change it out the end of the evening.
Do you turn your warmers off at night?
Yes I turn my main warmers off at night and turn the bedrooms warmers on.
I usually don’t change mine until I can’t smell it at all. I’ve been trying to let myself change it if it’s not very strong anymore because I have soooo much wax to get through 😂
Yes I’m trying to do that too but it’s hard to change my way of thinking
I have four warmers and change wax about every four days ( some scents could go longer!). I started doing this to use up full bars. I enjoyed doing the daily wax challenge but I never got to empty my clams and I want to buy new scents but just don’t have the space 😢
Thanks for trying!! It can be tough to fit it all in
I usually let the wax run it’s course and as soon as I can’t smell it, it’s gone like the wind lol ( I got too much choices to have warmers with wax I can’t smell) if it seems rancid or “off” like those scents I’ve have for a while, then it’s outta there as well. Halloween town I have had that experience with certain bars. “roll of dice” on cold smells like b/o😬It has a weird note, but I warmed it in the bathroom and it was ok. Good job on those bricks 👏🏽👏🏽I’m tryin too! 😊💜
Good to know I’m not losing my mind regarding Halloween Town.
I wait till I can't smell it. Wax is way to expensive to take out when it still has scent lol
Great point Patrice
Thank you for sharing your wax melting journey with us. To answer your question, it depends on how much I like or not the fragrance. If I like it…. I want to enjoy it to the last second of lifespan!!! If I’m not feeling it… I’ll change it sooner !! 😂
Or if you like it AND can’t get anymore
I usually change my wax when I can no longer smell it. Unless its a scent I don't like, then it comes out sooner. Lol
I tried frosty air in my laundry room the other day and after an hour I had to shut it off. Nope! Don't like it! 😂
That’s too bad. I wish they would have made Frosty Air a SS scent, and used the name they used in Region 3 (assuming it’s the same scent)
I let it run it's course unless I don't like it or my husbsnd protests then I change it out.
Does he protest often?
At times but I'm training him well. If he's at work and I'm home I have everything going but turn a few off just before he gets home. He does seem to not mind the lighter scents. He likes Wassail Wonderland which I am so/so on.
I warm it until I can’t smell it or can barely smell it. Then I change it.
😀
I change my wax when it loses its scent. For me thats no longer than at most, 2 days
Thanks Sara
I change my wax everyday. 95% of the time there isn't any noticeable scent left to me. I don't know how y'all can go so long. I wish I could go longer.
I think it depends on the house
@PatriciaG-NosetoToes yes I agree.
I wait till I can't smell anything because I want to make sure I'm getting my money's worth and I also don't want to give myself a headache by overdoing it
So true on both counts
Not sure I'd keel buying scentsy if wasn't for disney
Really!? Most Disney scents can be hit or miss for me. You must be a big fan.
@PatriciaG-NosetoToes it's more the warmers I collect. Love the bars

Yes - did I pronounce it properly?
@@PatriciaG-NosetoToes you certainly did
I let the scent run out
Thanks!!
Yes I’m also one that goes back bc and forth. I often switch out citrus scents early because when they get that “diluted” note it’s just not for me
