The XS lost THIS battle… but hands down wins the war. Forty year age difference in tec…. Take your pic.. 1) Complicated EFI and computers…and electrons running in and out of black holes …. You need a rocket scientist and three diagnostic computers… and a degree in rocket surgery. Or….. 2) two carbs a set of points and a condenser…. Oh… and a timing light and e feeler gauge for the valves. What was the result…. One or two seconds… I hope that you buy the new one…. And leave the nicer bikes for me ( us)
I did not expect that :D it probably weighs half what the GSXR does, that's a big help, but also has less than half the hp, probably decent torque tho. good job :D
That xs might very well eat up a 1200 sportster!!!!!!Including ironhead....oh and a shovelhead, oh yeah and a panhead, etc, etc...I love Harleys and XS,s, but the real deal are those damn xs 650 motors...can't kill em and can't beat em.
John Chazik John I never got beat by a xs650 against my 1000 Iron head when it was stock, had a friend who had a nice 650 that ran strong could hang with the iron head about a half bike length behind from 30 - 75 but after that my iron head would pull away on top end. A few years later I built my Iron head bored 10 over with 10:1 forged wiseco pistons stock stroke balanced sifton scorpion cams & valve springs flowed heads Dyna digital single fire ignition python anti reversionary pipes Barnett Kevlar clutch & a Gary bang HD clutch spring & it dynoed over 100 HP to the rear wheel, needless to say when I would run the 650 after the engine build I was going by him in 3rd gear wheelies on my bike & the big twin guys would get pissed getting beat by a sportster lol.
John Chazik I just picked up a 75 xs650b that I got running after sitting since 1988 so either going to fix as a vintage 75 or do a street tracker with it being you see less of those compared to a chop or bobber !
Your description defines the art of motorcycle and everything around it. 50 passes better get a free paint job. (laughing) Thought about any carbon fiber ideas?
Used to have an XS650 fitted with a Halco 840cc kit.Wish i still had it.
That xs made a good showing !

Why do all rice rockets jump the line when racing choppers or bobbers?
Only way they can win
the drag bars on that xs is a drag handle bar riser combination... only I as a racer would notice and understand that shit
Badass! I'm gonna do most the work on my xs but if I ever get the chance you guys will be building me a motor
How many R's is that XS spinning? Gotta be over 9 grand. Crazy! Proves that Hugh's Handbuilt makes good shit!!

Would've been good to know how the bob did-time&speed wise. Sir Bud- They do it because they just might get beat.
That's impressive
LMAO! dude that is so badass
that damb xs650 is a long winded bike, sounded like she was just starting to breathe

@@peteloomis8456 Wow...you had to do all that to beat an XS..? You must be really proud 👏
AAAAAAAhhh!!!!! my man on on the Yamich!!! Schooled the "race bike" imho. I had a 650 special, impounded and arrested as I recall...dadnabitt.
They arrested your bike!,!!??? Those bastages.
He'll yeah! That was bad, in the process of building an xs650 bobber
