      That's the easiest way to solve such a question, and notice that at the end, we will need to compare the phase of the current values with the voltage, so you'll definitely need to convert to phasor form. So why you do that in the initial stage

      I read that polar form is only easy for multiplication and division then rectangular for addition and subtraction. I was confused during the video.

      Yes, I get you, but once you will need to find the phase angle at the end, it's best you do the conversion first, that's the easiest way. Moreover, you are not going to solve step by step. You will need to complement your solution with a calculator
