The corningware handle is meant to be attached before cooking so that the bakeware can be used on a stove like a skillet. You will definitely burn yourself or dump your dish trying to attach it in the oven instead of using an oven mitt 😆😉

When you were talking about how thoughtful your dad was with buying that coat for you, it reminded me of when my dad planted cherry tomatoes when I was pregnant. They were too expensive for me to buy as a craving(and they were my MAIN craving). Plus, he was the first person to ask me how I was doing/wanted to eat vs. How the baby was doing/what the baby wanted to eat❤

I LOVE my kitchen aid - and actually have a baking business. I would HIGHLY recommend getting a second kitchen aid mixing bowl for the mixer. It makes it so much easier when you mix up a cake, but need to do icing right away. Or, if dough needs to chill/rise then you can leave it and have a second bowl to use!

It is a game changer! I dont know how I survived without it! Very expensive, but even if you dont bake or cook very much, its still such a game changer. So for someone who does cook and bake a lot? Like I dont know how she has survived without one!

Someone may have mentioned it already but that handle for the Corning Ware, I think it's so you can use it ON the stove top as well, like a pan/pot. My grandma recently blew my mind that you can use those on stove elements 😯
DL you are so right. I used to use that handle on my moms corning ware shallow pans to fry eggs or burgers in the 60s. she also had a clear mixing bowl it fit on to use it to boil potatoes or spaghetti. it was a fun littles gadget to have

Sifters have always felt gimmicky to me, a colander with tiny holes seems much easier to use, especially if you have carpal tunnel because you don't have to strain your hand with it.
@@lyra_ Well the strainer would let lumps through whereas sifter sifts it through fine fine fine screening, not gimmicky actual tool that's necessary otherwise you just have bad food not done correctly.

The only actual present I got was $20 from my best friend to help pay for my cat's kidney medication. However, I was blessed to have my 89 year old grandmother (GG) still with us this Christmas. The doctors weren't sure she was going to make it to last Christmas but, she is so tough and spunky and positive, she continues to astonish doctors and inspire us, her family. I especially really got overwhelmed by one gift i got this year by my mother. She once won a full day with the Yves Saint-Laurent Chef in Paris and the two other winners. Included was a very chic dinner in a restaurant and also a budget you could spend on clothing from Yves Saint Laurent in the shop in paris. My mom chose a beautiful suit in grey from the 1999 winter collection. This Christmas she gifted it to me and it was soooo sweet. We were given a Kitchen aide mixer 20 years ago by my husband's grandmother. It is my favorite small kitchen appliance. I use it for cookies, cakes, bread, mashed potatoes, squash, the list is endless. It still works awesome. I love the color your parents picked.

I have that exact cupcake pan and it is amazing for freezing things, because they just pop right out. Extra cooking stock, home made dog treats, freeze them in the cupcake pan, pop them out, put them in a bag, bam! Great for cooking too, but I mostly use it in the freezer.

when you said the snippet about dads & pomegranates, you gave me a flashback to when i was in college, i worked with my dad at a flea market to make ends meet & we used to leave our house at 2 am, to drive 2 hours, get there by 4 am & be set up for the early birds by 6 am.. i used to take a nap between whenever we finished setting up to about 7:30, & my dad used to wake me up to a bag of pistachios & French vanilla coffee because he remembered that's what i had the first day there & he remembered me saying they were my favorite. and now im tearing up at work.. thanks for that memory!
I don’t have the best relationship with my dad but when you talked about dads noticing the small things you like & getting it for you I cried so much because I have a few items I keep close to my heart because my dad randomly got it because he thought of me. For Christmas this year he found a pack of chocolate coated marshmallows & insisted to my mum they got them because he knows I like that sort of thing. Last year I bought myself a mini Christmas tree for my bedroom & he took the mick out of me for days for it & how it was a waste of money & it looked silly because it was small, then one day he came home from work & gave me a box of mini lights which he’d gone to the shops specially to find just because he thought I’d like them for my tree. It’s the little things that matter so much more

Sifters have always felt gimmicky to me, a colander with tiny holes seems much easier to use, especially if you have carpal tunnel because you don't have to strain your hand with it.
@@lyra_ Well the strainer would let lumps through whereas sifter sifts it through fine fine fine screening, not gimmicky actual tool that's necessary otherwise you just have bad food not done correctly.

The only actual present I got was $20 from my best friend to help pay for my cat's kidney medication. However, I was blessed to have my 89 year old grandmother (GG) still with us this Christmas. The doctors weren't sure she was going to make it to last Christmas but, she is so tough and spunky and positive, she continues to astonish doctors and inspire us, her family. I especially really got overwhelmed by one gift i got this year by my mother. She once won a full day with the Yves Saint-Laurent Chef in Paris and the two other winners. Included was a very chic dinner in a restaurant and also a budget you could spend on clothing from Yves Saint Laurent in the shop in paris. My mom chose a beautiful suit in grey from the 1999 winter collection. This Christmas she gifted it to me and it was soooo sweet. She knew that i had always dreamed of wearing it and now it's mine 🥰

We were given a Kitchen aide mixer 20 years ago by my husband's grandmother. It is my favorite small kitchen appliance. I use it for cookies, cakes, bread, mashed potatoes, squash, the list is endless. It still works awesome. I love the color your parents picked.
My dad is a carpenter and he built me a plant stand, I was so excited and now it’s full of the plants I’ve collected threw 2021. I’ve crocheted for 11 years and I’m 30 now. I started out making blankets but I really love making Aumigurumi more, sooo many cute things to make. I love the hat

You will love the kitchen aid. I have it in red. My favorite (most essential) attachment is the pouring shield - no more flour all over the kitchen. 2nd favorite is the flex edge beater - it scrapes the sides of the bowl. Enjoy

I have that exact cupcake pan and it is amazing for freezing things, because they just pop right out. Extra cooking stock, home made dog treats, freeze them in the cupcake pan, pop them out, put them in a bag, bam! Great for cooking too, but I mostly use it in the freezer.

when you said the snippet about dads & pomegranates, you gave me a flashback to when i was in college, i worked with my dad at a flea market to make ends meet & we used to leave our house at 2 am, to drive 2 hours, get there by 4 am & be set up for the early birds by 6 am.. i used to take a nap between whenever we finished setting up to about 7:30, & my dad used to wake me up to a bag of pistachios & French vanilla coffee because he remembered that's what i had the first day there & he remembered me saying they were my favorite. and now im tearing up at work.. thanks for that memory!
My favorite kitchen aid attachment is the ice cream bowl, making your own ice cream is awesome.

I don’t have the best relationship with my dad but when you talked about dads noticing the small things you like & getting it for you I cried so much because I have a few items I keep close to my heart because my dad randomly got it because he thought of me. For Christmas this year he found a pack of chocolate coated marshmallows & insisted to my mum they got them because he knows I like that sort of thing. Last year I bought myself a mini Christmas tree for my bedroom & he took the mick out of me for days for it & how it was a waste of money & it looked silly because it was small, then one day he came home from work & gave me a box of mini lights which he’d gone to the shops specially to find just because he thought I’d like them for my tree. It’s the little things that matter so much more
