I'm in tears. Villanelle is such a broken character, she isn't just a killer, she's someone who needs help, needs to be natured. Everytime she thinks someone is there for her and she opens up they betray her. I feel we don't realise how crazy and important it is that villanelle told eve she loved her.

Yes. But honestly, if we are talking about the season 2 finale...I think V was more so the one who betrayed Eve by manipulating her into killing that guy. If Eve hadn't found out V had the gun I think she would've gone with V. I feel like in this new season V is kinda...growing more like a human and maybe trying to figure out love a bit more. And this will be important before she really reunites with Eve.
TheLesExit yes totally agree but I believe V just doesn’t know right from wrong and didn’t know that was bad. As she’s been betrayed so much she doesn’t know what to do with herself and most of the time she makes the wrong decision based on what’s happened to her
Exactly and though Eve claimed she isn't scared of anything...she's terrified of what she feels for Villanelle. She's never felt so alive in her life, even with her boring husband.

The fact that we all are in love with villanelle despite her being a fucking psychopath and killing with no emotion shows how well written the script is and how amazing Jodie comer is as an actor!!
Villanelle is actually a pretty sad character if you look between the cracks. It’s just hard to see underneath her childish and merciless demeanour. This is a great song for her. “Sorry that I can’t believe that anyone ever really started to fall in love with me” is actually a bit too accurate.

Villanelle's psychopathy only adds to the tragedy. Because she's stabbed so many in the back and front she's seen as garbage by many. Or just a tool to be used and discarded in equal measure

as many have already said, this is v e r y sad and painfully accurate to who Villanelle is beneath her menacing and reckless behaviour. she is a broken soul - and i don't mean that in a way that would magically justify the horror and pain she's inflicted - that was and is too far gone. her russian teacher tried to get through to her, but we all know how it ended.
Vi doesn't know how to love healthily. i'm not sure she knows how to love even in her overly possessive and obsessive manner. she is interested in humans (i think so) and how they are, but she gets bored easily. then she finds someone like Eve. Eve reminds her of herself, which is a very rare thing to happen. she must feel... she must FEEL. that's already enough to shock her.
the finale of season 2 made me so emotional. i felt Villanelle's anger, i felt something akin to love she had for Eve. it made me feel so lost because i suddenly fully saw how broken Oksana is (it also makes me feel a certain way when i call her Oksana since i'm from russia myself). it was wrong and out of place.
i just wish i could understand Villanelle on a bigger scale. i wish i could analyse the depths of her and how she came to be.
what i'm saying is, you did a marvelous job. this video is a character study, i feel like. and be proud because i don't like halsey, but this edit of yours is so good i didn't give it too much thought and liked it instantly.

It's so sad that all she wanted was to feel loved. And I think what hurts the most is that Eve kept hurting her again and again, but Villanelle kept being there for her even though Eve was using her most of the times.. Eve loved her, that's for sure, but she realized too late.. Villanelle deserved so much better. You can see how much of a good person she was at s4ep8 when Eve finally decided to be with her and all what Villanelle did was smile.. Best TV character by fas. Shame on you Laura Neal.
I acc feel like this song really sums up Villanelle’s journey with finding Eve, but in a slightly different way. She truly does not believe that people could love her, and she doesn’t believe that people won’t leave because so many people have left her. She doesn’t trust anyone, and she doesn’t trust here self to love normally. But eve changed that. No matter what happens to them, even if they do leave each other’s lives, Eve always changed villanelle. She showed her love rather than obsession, she proved to her that she is worthy and capable of love. Underneath her charm and charisma, villanelle is scared. Scared to fall in love, scared of being left, scared of relying on people. Villanelle needed Eve, so, so much.

I don’t think villanelle’s a psychopath. I just think she never had full access to her emotions, but meeting eve changed that. I feel like every time villanelle tries to open up she’s betrayed so she hides away, and puts up a shield. a perfect example of this is the end of season 1. villanelle let her guard down for eve and eve took it as an opportunity to stab her, which probably taught v that she can’t trust anyone, not even the woman she loves most in the world.
