- here it was..... as shot by kevin j. reilly.
the first performance of the 2015 tour in support of my new release on ECM Records, entitled "only sky". (ECM #2433)
fwiw, folks:
i'm likely to post the last performance of the tour, as well, and maybe one from the middle: ha!
Great to hear you have a new recording out! Will pick it up! Cloud About Mercury still ranks in the pantheon of top progressive jazz recordings.
Always a treat to hear you create! Thanks for sharing, sending love
Another stellar performance! What tone! The kind of playing I like best! I was brought here by a link on David's Facebook page. Wish I could leave some positive comments there...
Beautiful tones and textures DT. Enjoying this immensely
the VHT amp pictured is actually a FRYETTE Deliverance 120, fwiw.
Always the greatest pleasure to hear you play, David. Thank you.
You definitely know how to make a creepy, unnerving song with that guitar. Bloody brilliant honestly.
The Master... love you since Electronic musician magazine in the eighties, bought both samples cd's for Acid...couple of my songs have those loops as leit motif's...thanks for all your talent and inspiration
Like the personal touch here David! Been following you since umm, well more than a few years. Got a scalper ticket for the David Sylvian tour (80's? w/you and Mark Isham) at Massey Hall, Toronto and wound up sitting right in front of you as you worked your magic. Amazing then to see your fretboard work in action as your magical palette of sounds on record had mystified me until then. God bless!
Fantastic!
Mesmerizing to watch and listen as the sonic weave come together and frays.
Took me a long time to find this, Dave....
Gobsmacked! Beautilicious!
Pete.
I raised the volume and loved it. Nice work David.
Master...
Beautiful
Awesome!!!
amazing soundscapes
It sounds amazing!
Wow! The soundtrack to skittish rabbits. Or, what rainbows sound like. Mercy!
Of course listen to this high. ;-)
great sound! epic!
Nice
beatiful!
love it!!
VERY unfortunately, You Tube won’t let me subscribe to your channel; your music is brilliant.
Soo goood!
Was 2015 the year your tour did a swing through Portland Oregon? That was the last time I had the treat of seeing you perform live.
i did play solo in portland, ted; 2 years later, i played at the same spot w/my band, Sun of Goldfinger! i can't remember which you attended, but i know we said, "hey!" at one of 'em!
Dave, are you still using MIDI setup ? ( I liked your tricks with cheapo MCS something module in old days....hahaha)BTW I did quite intense impro recording and web publishing from 2003 to 2005 but subsequently I sold my gear (mainly MIDI sound modules plus fx processors triggered by gtr thru Roland GR30 gateway...) and now I'm a seasoned vintage cameras and lenses collector.Cheers ! Yours and Mr. Fripp's tunes inspired me a lot.Sincerely Krzysztof Duszkiewicz
Butonierka W Bucie no midi there, kris.
Gear used please...
Or it didn't happen :)
Dave, have you any plans for another project with Sonar.
yes. first, the new Sun of Goldfinger recording for ECM --- myself, tim berne & ches smith (with an expanded group of great additional players on one track --- is on pre-sale right now.
the official release is March 1, and we'll tour some parts of the USA starting March 12.
vinyl, cd & digital.
the new Sonar is being recorded in late April. i'm playing with the band again, but am not producing nor mixing this one.
