    Thanks for the update! I’m feeling the Lord lead me more into a Charlotte Mason approach - well to be more committed to it anyway! Thanks for the inspiration!

    Yes! We used to homeschool the traditional school calendar and for the last few years switched to year round. No we can take more time off at holidays and go on vacation when the cost is lower in September. During the summer when it’s very hot we take one week off per month (June through August). My older kids go to church camp in the summer so I just make sure one week off in the summer lines up with that.

      Love it! It ends up just making the most sense! Since my girls have had "summers off" hopefully they will see we take time off as we need and school is part of just our life! ❤️😅

    I love your flexible approach!😊 We got a later start to our school year, so we are only two weeks or so in to our Term 3. 😊

    Thank you so much for sharing your homeschool journey! You have no idea how many tactical questions you have answered just in a few videos that I have watched of yours. :)
    Question - Do your girls do only oral narrations? If so, when in your schedule do you schedule listening to their narrations?

      @hannahgravelle  6 месяцев назад

      I'm so encouraged to hear this feedback! ❤️ my oldest does one written narration a week! And they narrate after their readings directly! (For now) once the boys are in school, I think we'll have to add it to the timetable.

    I would love to see how you setup the kid’s family contribution responsibilities.

      Yes! If you haven't seen my recent planning video, I shared the background behind some of that there! ruclips.net/video/cg8oqdiGiK8/видео.html ❤️
      And I'll be doing an update soon as we head into summer mode!

    How old is your oldest child?
    I can say my children from 9-12 really love that George Washington book and the Abraham Lincoln one from the same author. They have cover AH and world history before though so they are able to engage with the text more.

      Oh that's great to hear! She's 10 and we are only one year into AO. I started her out in Y4 so there was definitely a transition for her with the reading amounts! But I am hopeful that by Lincoln next year in Y5 the mini stories in these books will start to connect more!

    Hi Hannah, I am sorry for your losses 🙏 Can you share the book your mom used for the Around the World in 80 days book study?

    Are you Canadian by any chance? I was curious how Canadians have found Ambleside Online as I’m hesitating between that and CMEC but haven’t seen any Canadian reviews.

      Hi! I saw this comment and thought I’d jump in- I’d join AO forum as there are threads about Canadian users that have supplement lists.

    How was Island Story for your younger daughter? My daughter will be starting AO y2 this fall. Also, did you guys start in the middle of a history cycle and if so, how did that work out? Recent subscriber and thoroughly enjoying all the videos of yours that I'm binging 😉

      We really love that book!! It's written well and interesting! My oldest is listening to that too just because 😄 we didn't skip too much because we had been doing Mystery of History for over a year. My Y4 skipped maybe 500-750 years 😆 but she'll circle back I figured! And thanks for saying "hi" 👋🏻 so glad you're here! ❤️
