  • Is it true that Apple vision pro will take over the iPhone, iPad and iMac in 2024 and will Samsung and Google and others be doing the same as well?
I think it is unlikely that mixed-reality headsets will completely replace smartphones, tablets, and computers in 2024. However, I do think that mixed reality headsets will become increasingly popular in the coming years and that they could eventually become the primary computing device for many people.
I think that the Vision Pro has a good chance of being successful, but it will depend on a number of factors, such as the price, the availability of apps and games, and the overall user experience.
Ultimately, I think that the future of computing will be multi-modal, with people using a variety of devices, including smartphones, tablets, computers, and mixed reality headsets, depending on their needs and preferences.

First of all, VR and AR has been around for a very long time. Samsung was one of the first to do it (partnering with Oculus which is now called Meta VR by Facebook).
Maybe you forgot or you probably didn't care since it was Samsung and not Apple, but this is what it looked like:
And today, Facebook is dominating the VR and AR industry with their Meta Quest VR headset.
Facebook bought Oculus back in 2014 because they knew VR and AR is going to be the future. Originally, it was mostly just VR but now it's both VR and AR (mixed reality). Apple took very long untill they finally made an headset.
Unfortunately, Samsung stopped doing VR after the initial hype, probably because their partnership with Oculus/Meta has already ended and they don't see a point in doing VR when Oculus/Meta is now making their own affordable headsets.
It's possible that AR headsets will eventually replace smartphones and computers, but we are still at a long way from there. One of the concerns people have is privacy, especially if someone has a camera on their AR glasses/headsets. There's also the problem with distracted when walking around with an AR headsets, and given the expensive cost of these headsets, it is probably not ideal to be walking around in pubic with these headsets at this time (we are talking thousands of dollars).
