    Adrian is clueless - brushes over the fact we’d still be in Europe if it wasn’t for horrific VAR. Being a toon fan all my life, we love Eddie. He’s been fantastic, the team overachieved and it shows who is and isn’t good enough by seeing who can maintain that. We’re still midtable spenders in the transfer market, but people are expecting consistent top 4 already? Wake up guys.

      Come on pal Howe is a complete no-mark with no pedigree. Anybody can have a good honeymoon and ride the crest of a wave but people eventually fall to the level of their incompetence. A similar drop at Bournemouth in relative terms saw them relegated. His ideas become sterile and he’s not capable of devising different systems successfully to suit the players, opposition, and the circumstances of the game at hand. He’ll be gone by October.

    • @maxwilliams1060

      I don't think anyone can have a good honeymoon. That's been proven A LOT over the last 30 odd years...@@languageoffootball

    • @tomwebster5348
      @tomwebster5348 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@languageoffootball clueless take tbh buddy. Ride a wave? For the first 2 years of his leadership we averaged at 4th in the league for points - that’s in including half a season with the likes of Fraser and Clark. He’s got us into the CL and battering PSG, and now still in touching distance of Europe despite having an average of 13 injuries all season. We were also top of the league for chances created at new year. While I agree that’s not an excuse for recent performances, it does matter and impact where we are, as well as showing hes capable of getting the best out of players. As I said, it’s not showing which players can maintain those levels. Beyond me how anyone can suggest Eddie should go with what he’s done for us already, despite us being midtable spenders.
      For his tactics, you clearly don’t understand the nuance to how he sets up, it’s so funny when people see the formation and think ‘that’s the same style of play today’ - he ALWAYS changes how we attack and defend based on the opposition, different press triggers, different patterns of play to open teams up, different runs to create space and leave gaps, it really shows how much the average fan doesn’t notice these things.
      As for his time at Bournemouth, you clearly don’t know anything about it, he got them from league 2 into a side that can stay in the PL, the only reason they got relegated that season was a lack of spending, and yeah he was newer and less experienced - hardly his fault. This tenure at Bournemouth is probably a harder job than what the vast majority of managers have ever done.
      What does ‘pedigree’ have to do with it? He’s shown he can hang with the big boys, and you could say that about literally any manager before they got a bigger job:
      - did sir Alex have any pedigree before Man Utd?
      - did klopp have any pedigree before dortmund?
      - did pep have any pedigree before Barca?
      - did muriniho have any pedigree before Chelsea?
      - did Benitez have any pedigree before Liverpool?
      The list goes on

    • @herrzyklon
      @herrzyklon 5 месяцев назад +3

      @@lconnerz100 that's not what I'm saying though. If you have a 90+ minute, high intensity, hard press, aggressive style, then it really takes it out of a player. You become more susceptible to random injuries, have less recovery time, can't give 100% in training, and are more likely to suffer knocks, twists, and fatigue injuries.
      Add to that the lack of rotation, earlier season injuries, and European games, it's little wonder the players are done in. Not just that, but with every wave crest there follows a trough.
      Judging by the way newcastle fans have dealt with "what's been done to them" (Howe's words), 10th place is a massive overachievement. The way they've been talking, you'd think newcastle would be below Bournemouth

    • @alien4422
      @alien4422 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@herrzyklon Exactly, I've been saying for ages that the hard press causes more injuries.
      The hard press strategy in football can indeed increase the risk of injuries for several reasons:
      Physical Demands: Implementing a hard press requires players to cover more ground, engage in frequent sprints, and exert high levels of energy throughout the game. This increased physical demand can lead to fatigue, muscle strains, and overexertion, making players more susceptible to injuries.
      Intensity of Challenges: When executing a hard press, players often engage in aggressive challenges to win back possession quickly. These intense tackles and physical confrontations can result in collisions between players, increasing the likelihood of injuries such as contusions, sprains, or even fractures.
      Repetitive Movements: The repetitive nature of pressing actions, such as rapid changes in direction, sudden accelerations, and decelerations, can place significant stress on players’ joints, muscles, and ligaments. Over time, these repetitive movements may contribute to overuse injuries like tendonitis or stress fractures.
      Mental Fatigue: The hard press requires constant focus, quick decision-making, and coordinated movements from all players involved. Mental fatigue or lapses in concentration due to the high-pressure nature of this tactic can also lead to mistimed tackles or errors that increase injury risks.
      Cumulative Effect: While the hard press can be effective in disrupting opponents’ play and creating scoring opportunities, its continuous application throughout a match or season can accumulate physical and mental strain on players. This cumulative effect may heighten the chances of sustaining injuries over time.
      Conclusion
      In conclusion, the hard press strategy in football can contribute to an increased risk of injuries due to its physical demands, intensity of challenges, repetitive movements, mental fatigue, and cumulative effects on players. Coaches and medical staff should carefully manage training loads, monitor player fitness levels, and implement injury prevention strategies to mitigate the potential risks associated with employing a high-intensity pressing style.

      FIFA Medical Assessment and Research Centre (F-MARC): F-MARC is a leading authority on football medicine and sports science research. Their studies on player injuries and performance factors provide valuable insights into the impact of different playing styles on player health.

The information from this source helps in understanding the biomechanical aspects of football tactics and their effects on player well-being.
      American Journal of Sports Medicine: A reputable publication in sports medicine research, the American Journal of Sports Medicine offers evidence-based studies on various aspects of sports-related injuries and preventive measures. Their findings contribute to a comprehensive analysis of injury risks associated with specific playing strategies like the hard press in football.

    Howe out. Awful manager. Selects his favourites rather than players based on ability. Keeps selecting Anthony Gordon on the left wing instead of Miguel Almiron. Almiron is far superior. Much better technically and tracks back

    I’m a very fair and balanced NUFC fan, and Eddie’s got 3 games left for me. The performances, lack of energy, poor tactics and naivety has been there since November. Our injury crisis has been horrific, but we’ve dropped a lot of points by playing players who aren’t up to it, and playing a high line without Pope and a painfully slow defence, and midfield. These will be the reasons why Howe’s sacked
