The Copen is a really great car, the steering is just perfect and the feedback, also through the body, is quite good. I drive a 1.3L version which has a modified suspension and the spoiler as standard. With this setup is can easily cruise at 160 km/h and it tops out at 200 km/h with summer tires (i have a POV of a short stretch over the autobahn). Even then it is not floating and, to my surprise, not even twitchy. It also great fun to drive it over mountain passes. With the roof down, one can easily set it up to turn in by itself by braking on the downhill. It resembles more a mid-engine than a traditional FWD due to the center of gravity.
Also the 1.3 is far superior for daily driving/European roads than the 660cc It's the Sirion engine and it's amazing... I got both car and they drive almost the same, the Sirion feeling a little bit more "heavy" since it's a 5 seater
I fixed the rattling of mine by adjusting the stop screws behind the rear roof panel and latch. also put some cloth tape on metal contact points on the front where it latches. used silicone grease on all rubbers. Now its dead silent. Before I done that, I was quite disappointed from the, but now it feels completely diferent and only produces smiles on my face 🙂
By the time I’m able to import one I’ll have to pay some stupid hype tax because it was in an anime or something so owning one is a nice dream. They do seem cool though.
Both Cappuccino & Copen sold in uk from Brand new. Copen in the UK sold in either 660cc or 1300cc for some reason Uk Copen 660cc have 69bhp instead of JDM versions 64bhp.
185cm and all legs here so err, yeah, thats a no from me lol. Your experience reminds me when I first drove the Roadster though, I hate the convertible "girls/hairdressers" car image thing as I felt robbed, wish I'd bought one when I was younger as crusing around on a warm summer evening with the roof down is absolutely mint 👍🏻. I fixed the tunnel problem by fitting ITBs and making my own noises, but yeh the tyre noise from other cars is brutal.
Yea the "hairdresser" thing is just insecurity and jealousy... Their g/f or wife "wouldn't let them" get a car like that so they hate on it. Do whatever you want man. For real it's a checklist 1. the winter crisp cool air 2. roof off 3. clear sky full of stars 4. Heater on full blast on your feet Can't beat it.... Thanks for your support ❤️
@@keithhooper6123 well how is the legroom? Headroom will be tight i have no doubts but legroom is more of a concern for me, do you think i can fit? Im not bulk and normal weight. there isnt any copen i could find in my country to actually do a test fit lol Edit: i dont like when i have to bend my knees around the wheel so thats what i mean by legroom, if that does not occur then i guess i will fit somehow :D
imagine forgetting you have groceries on the back and you fold the top down does it have an "action-cancel" thing like the way power windows go back down if you accidentally got fingers in the way of it closing or nah?
I wondered the same thing and it's an interesting question... One I'm not game to test. Lol The rear glass faces down so if it doesn't stop when it hits something then it'll smash the glass...
Мне очень нравится концепция кей-каров, сам очень хочу заиметь Capuccino (Altezza у меня уже есть :)). Однако боюсь, что я не влезу в подобные купе, разве что ноги подрезать придется...
They all rattle, though it's possible to adjust the roof catches, see RUclips videos. The seat belts tend to come out of the guides, and don't retract well, boots tend to leak, and I find the interior gets a lot of condensation in side in winter.Too gear is a bit on the low side.
Do you plan to keep it? If yes, I have a good news for you, roof rattling is an very easy fix :) I can provide pictures and things via email/facebook if you want! or discord, etc I own one and it the roof don't rattle anymore, but my plexiglass wind screen on the back does and sometime the door card but hey, it's a Daihatsu

I always smiled while driving it. Fun little car!
Silicon grease isn't the best, gummi pflege is the best way tbh!

As long as a famous RUclipsr doesn't buy one the price will stay low.

Cappuccino is quite long inside actually
You can pop the trunk by clicking the key fob twice.
I had no idea about that!!! But my key fob didn't work very well with one click. 2 would have been a miracle! 😂

Do you have bi-polla . I'll love the review tho
I'm glad you like the review. I don't think I have bipolar. Why do you ask? 🧐
This is not helping my Car Acquisition Syndrome...
It really is a rad car.
