When it's the rabbit's turn, he cleverly devises a plan. The rabbit deliberately takes his time to reach the lion and, when he arrives, tells the lion that another lion stopped him on the way, claiming to be the real king of the forest. Hearing this, the lion becomes furious and demands to be taken to this other lion. The rabbit leads the lion to a deep well and tells him that the other lion is inside.
When the lion looks into the well, he sees his own reflection in the water and thinks it's the other lion. Enraged, he roars at the reflection, which appears to roar back. In a fit of anger, the lion jumps into the well to attack the other lion, only to drown as he does not know how to swim.
