It was so weird for my father to watch me and my brother play this. He grew up with Tatsunoko anime and we grew up with Capcom fighting games. Our childhoods were gloriously beating the crap out of each other.
Bought this game on launch. Literally waited outside the store for them to open thinking there would be a big line or something. Naturally, I was the only one there. Still play the hell out of this game to this day.
With all due respect I feel KI is a nicely polished game. Feels just as good, maybe a little faster, then the originals (which come with the purchase of KI anyways).
I'm glad I watched this intro again. Seeing it again gave me so many chills omg. Especially at the end with the music hyping up and the characters and their win quotes come up. Even with the drastic change to the intro form the Japanese TvC, this one can definitely compete with it.
I love this game just, y'know, in general, but what I really love is the *tone* of the thing. The Marvel Vs. Capcom games put an emphasis on the *verses* part of the title, focusing on the two sides in battle with each other, while this game is more... "We're all awesome. Let's celebrate that awesome together."
Its 2023 and im still hoping for a sequel or remake or port. WiiU came and went, Switch is slowly packing for its last Journey too. My hopes are with the Super Nintendo Switch.
beginning of 2024, i got older again. lfe got tougher but fire for this game still shines brightly. lets go. this year i8s the year of the remake or sequel!!
The Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal is upon us and with it is the burning flame of hope. Ultimate Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom could be possible let's go! I take a Fighting Game Bundle 3 with UMVC, TVC and USF4 too.
11 years since this came to console. I remember I first played this on arcade at a local swapmeet and I was instantly fascinated by it, used to go to that swapmeet every week just to play it against people, it was amazing. Then I found out they were bringing a console version to the States in jan 2010 and I bought it day 1 and played the shit out of it. Played it so much and got pretty good that I was number 6 world wild online for awhile until they shut down the servers for it. Good times, how fast time has gone since then as well.
It’s unfortunate we won’t get a sequel to this game. As wonderful as Tatsunoko vs Capcom may be, it was a licensing NIGHTMARE for Capcom. I wouldn’t mind seeing Hanna-Barbera vs Capcom though.
I mean there are actually enough action cartoons from Hannah Barbera to fill in for Tatsunoko. At the top of my head there’s Space Ghost, Birdman, the Galaxy Trio, and Johnny Quest. There’s more if you look hard enough.
Hong Kong Phooey, Winsome Witch, Atom Ant, Secret Squirrel, Top Cat, Velma, Jabberjaw, Tom and Jerry, Speed Buggy, Fred Flinstone, Captain Caveman, Mighty Mightor, Yogi Bear, Frankenstein Jr and the Impossibles, (Pac Man and Pepper, Papa Smurf,) (You can work out the licences) Dynomutt, Shazzan, Quick Draw Mcgraw, Dick Dasterly, Powerpuff Girls, Dexter... there's a whole bunch more but I'll stop now.
I remember when I bought this game, to be frank I think it might've been what actually got me into fighting games...really. It came out on my 13th birthday and i didn't know what to get, and there it was. J-POP OP and all, and I didn't know more half the characters. It got me more into the realm of gaming that I didn't really know existed, and I kinda want to thank it for that. I don't know, maybe I'm a sucker for the music, but i'm glad I got into the Hype-filled realm of fighting games!
I'm one of those guys that loves TvC and UMvC3 equally, because Zero is damn near broken in both games. TvC: Buster Loop (U)MvC3: Lightning Loop Also this game got me into Casshern and Karas so there's that too.
Mannn those nights just trying to beat the boss…the amazing ultimate each character had. The maps, the times playing friends and completely whooping there butts…man where did those times go
I have to thank Nintendo Power for introducing me to this game. I love that the magazine would often highlight upcoming gems for the Wii that other magazines would just skip over. As a result, my best friend and I would just play this game all the time when it came out. I wish I could still find it.
Damn I remember getting this game on my 8th birthday birthday. I used to play this game all the time. I would go to my friends house and we would play this game for hours. If they made a sequel to this, it would sell a lot
The first time I honestly played it I was fascinated with this intro, both with the game, its characters and the modality. It was a nice memory when I had the Wii when I was like 13 years old ❤️❤️❤
Me and my brother used to play this a lot when I was a kid and I absolutely loved the intro, never skipped it. Till this day I occasionally come back to this.
Hopefully these will come out: Nintendo vs Capcom Sony vs Capcom Sega vs Capcom Funimation vs Capcom Namco vs Capcom Disney vs Capcom (Sora ftw) And DC vs capcom
I was skimming through the used game section down at my local Gamestop and saw Ken The Eagle on the cover facing off against Ryu. Suffice it to say as a Gatchaman fan when I was younger I bought the game and I honestly believe that this is better than MvC. Btw for all those who'd agree and disagree with me. I'm not bias on either games. I have UMVC3 for 360 and i do love both games but overall TvC has more fair gameplay and felt complete and felt like it was an actual Arcade Fighter.

this game should have been on other consoles than the wii (Not hating on the wii, and I had the wii around that time)
Do you still play this game?
😂😂😂
i heard theres a scene for this game so who knows
There wouldn't even be an MvC3 without this game. TvC deserves a sequel. Like, now.
It also needs to be on the Wii U
Robert Contreras Agreed. If PS4 gets SF5, Wii U should get Tatsunoko vs Capcom 2! :D
Speed Racer, Samurai Pizza Cats, Megaman Volnutt and Phoenix Wright better be in that shit
CamiWolf Xbox can keep KI
With all due respect I feel KI is a nicely polished game. Feels just as good, maybe a little faster, then the originals (which come with the purchase of KI anyways).

THE MOST UNDERRATED FIGHTING GAME OF ALL FUCKING TIME. I'm sorry for the vulgarity, but this deserves so much MORE.
Amen
Wasn’t it a Wii exclusive?
Overlooked? Yes. Underrated? No. It was rated, and has been rated, with universal acclaim since its release.

Greatest Intro ever for a fighter
+Julien Maurel I agree!
I really wish they didn't lose the Tatsunoko license..
TvC 2 on Wii U would be AMAZING
Oh boy. ):
considering what a legal nightmare this game was, I doubt Capcom will ever indulge a game like this with a company with such a loose grip on its IP's
I usually skip the intro with other games but with this game I would always let it play out.
I love this game just, y'know, in general, but what I really love is the *tone* of the thing. The Marvel Vs. even the visual style is totally Persona 4
Right? It feels like it would be a persona 3 song since it has someone who sounds like Lotus in that sense.

The reason might be the obscurity of the characters. Many people in the west don't have a clue what tatsunoko even is.
