This month, I discuss the new features for the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan. I also discuss the ongoing depreciation among electric vehicles, and focus on the EQS depreciation and why this is occurring. I wrap it up with my recommendation on whether I will upgrade when the 2025 models come out and whether you should wait for the 2025 models or go ahead and buy an EQS now.

Love your videos and enthusiasm. Purchased the 2024 EQS 450 4matic amg line this week and it's so stunning. 😊 I also love the current grill better than whats coming in 2025. They probably listened to much to people in RUclips comments. 😅

2023 owner here too and the 2025 model doesn’t have enough improvements for a trade-in. For me to upgrade, there must be something significant like the J3400 connector, a decent size frunk, walk-away lock eliminating start-stop bottom, and/or 11kW AC charging. I wish there were some lights behind the front grill stars.

Same boat. Really thinking 2026 improvements (whatever they are) will be enticing. Maybe.

@@BenAptus Are you aware MB in 2024 is phasing in their hood ornament and a fake chrome grill at nose.

@@johnpoldo8817 I am! Though I really don't like the hood ornament. I like the more subtle look. I also like the large mercedes star at the front (without additional stars - just the big one). The fake chrome grill at nose looks no better than any of the other noses. The only thing that would make the nose better would be to raise the hood front a little and make the front more square, but that sacrifices the aerodynamics. All that being said, I am not enticed by the fake chrome grill at the nose. It'll take more than that for this car to be more appealing from the outside. Obviously I didn't mind it - I bought the 2023 (EQS SUV).

I have been waiting delivery of my EQE 2024 since March. It has already been built and awaiting shipping. How is it taking so long for Mercedes Germany to ship the vehicle to North America?

Mine was built in July 2022 and I didn't get it until November 15th. Not sure why it takes so long, but the time fades once you have your new car.

You’ve saved at the pumps and servicing but when you factor in the depreciation and insurance compared to an ICE car I expect you have taken a fairly big hit to your wallet.

My insurance is about the same as it was when I had an ICE S-550. Depreciation is more dramatic with the EQS right now, but I could have leased the car if that was my focus. No, I am keeping this car for a long time and it will have paid for the difference by then. Even if it doesn't, I bought the EQS-580 for my enjoyment and I am content with the ownership experience.
