Max Caulfield, photographer-in-residence at the prestigious Caledon University, discovers her closest new friend, Safi, dead in the snow. Murdered. To save her, Max tries to Rewind time - a power she’s not used in years… instead Max opens the way to a parallel timeline where Safi is still alive, and still in danger! Max realizes the killer will soon strike again - in both versions of reality.
Only Max can Shift between the two parallel timelines to solve and prevent the same murder.

I'm a bit disappointed not to see the original writters from Don't Nod, having prefered the Life is Strange "official series" for how well built the characters were, how they'd develope but also how the narrative will takr your places. Don't get me wrong True Colours is a really nice game, but felt a bit too shallow, and I'm fearing the same here. Also, we keep talking about this "new" power of Max, but is it related to the comics?

They said that they respected the choice of the players on if save Chloe or not, so i hope they give us the choice in this new game something like if you choose Max and Chloe to be a romantic couple you can choose that and if you want them to be friends you can also choose that. It is a choice. One of the cutscenes shows you being able to choose whether Chloe and Max were together, although it seems like they broke up by this point.

I don't, I let her die to save everyone in Arcadia Bay, because people keep forgetting that fact.
Examples are Chloe's DnD friends Steph's mother and Mikey's brother, Drew died horribly in the Storm, said in Steph's Life Is Strange: Wavelengths.
well yea lol, that's like the whole heart of the game. chloe and Max's relationship was what made life is strange so special. of course the game was good in other aspects, but I think it was chloe and max that really made people get so invested into the game.

I'm so happy to hear Bae and Bay are choices! There videos on the game seem to be set on Bay Max, so I'm so curious to see what mentions Chloe will get in Bae. We know in Lis2 and Wavelengths Max and Chloe were on the road together - whereas in Bay Max has been on the road alone. I bet Max took a job at the uni and she and Chloe are long distance atm. I have a feeling when Chloe realizes what is going on, she'll come running back to help Max and that's how she'll appear. I am so excited to see them texting each other!! I also would guess on Bay path Max has romances (like Safi and Amanda?) and on Bae she's happily taken by Chloe.

I feel like I'm going to be fooled here, I mean, what's the point of me choosing the Bae ending, sacrificing a fucking city if Chloe doesn't at least have an appearance? I don't want it to be just mentioned, I always imagined that if there was a next game that validated both options, in one of them they would be together. This studio has everything it needs to do right, but it still focuses on characters that we have zero involvement with, and discards the characters that are essential to the franchise.
They only ever made one good game and that was the 1st one.
Everything after was forgetabble. It was an unexpected hit, so Square Enix milked it. That's what happens if you milk a good game. They become worse with each entry.
I mean we don’t know for sure if we will see Chloe or not yet. It could be they are just keeping it under wraps for now.
I feel like you are going a bit too fast here, let's wait to see what they have prepared. If Chloe isn't part of it there's probably a good reason for it. In LiS2 with the 2 brothers, you'll meet Chloe's step dad(David) if you chose Bae over bay (I did not even recognize him at first until he mentionned Chloe haha). It's at the end of the game. You can talk to him and he will kind of tell you a part of his story, and talks about his relationship with Chloe.
He mentions that she is still with max. That they ran away together, not looking back. He says he did not talk to them for a while because he couldn't accept they moved on. But that after a while, they met again and made peace. And after you leave the caravan he lives in, if you don't move you can actually hear a full call with him and Chloe if you stay by the door :) (you can only hear David's responses).
They talk about meeting again because he installed solar pannels and he says "you'll see them the next time you come by", and then tells she could drive down to louisiana or texas, and Chloe gives him news involving a gallery and max, which he replies with "cool! finger crossed then" and asks Chloe to wish luck to Max.
So if they are not together in this new game that means something happened between them between the two games because it would not make sense otherwise. Or maybe they are still together, but Chloe is on a trip to David's for instance ? Or... Maybe they don't want to spoil us and they are lying to us right now and Chloe will be part of the game in the end ? What's sure is that they won't tell us this because they would say way too much otherwise.
They will probably have a good reason to explain why she almost won't be part of the story, let's be patient! :)
It’s kinda impossible to make her an important character if she’s dead or alive depending on choices. Nothing she offers will impact the main storyline as they’ll have to account for both timelines

The devs clearly stated that both choices (Bae and Bay) would be validated in the game. You saved Chloe? Then she's alive.
In regards to Chloe, they can't talk about her yet without spoiling her role in the game. But FELICE KUAN (one of the devs in this interview) is a huge Chloe fan ever since she worked on Before the Storm. That alone should calm your jets about Chloe being done dirty in this game. That won't happen because Felice has total creative control over the storyline in this game.
Stop being a Debbie Downer and just wait until more info comes out.

So from what Ive gathered from the insights the devs have given us at the time is that unfortunately this is not a follow up to liS1 but rather a standalone game with max. Which Kinda sucks as it feels they want to capitalize on the nostalgia and the fantasi but without actually giving us what weve wanted for so long :)

So when Max shifts into the new timeline what happens to the version of her in the alternate timelime? Or does her mind, in a sense enter into the alternate timeline version of her and sorta take her over. If that makes sense.

I would never have dreamt that there will be another LIS game with Max, let alone with her as the protagonist! I’m soooo excited for it, I’m already counting the days to the release!! When I saw that Max can travel between timelines, I thought it might be a hint at the comics. I’m very interested to see how her new power plays out, if it “overwrites” her rewind powers or is an addition to them. So far it seems she has less control in actually rewinding time, but rather opening different timelines that HAVE been rewound / altered already. I wonder if the killer has (similar) powers, so it will not only be a race against time, but a race through different timelines aswell. However, I also have a theory that Max might have (accidentally) caused Safis death, similar to the Tornado in LIS1, and it’s actually herself she’s after. So much to think about! And I’m so excited about the old characters, the new ones, the soundtrack and honestly just everything about this game

You can't just make me see Max without Chloe though, people have become fond of Life is Strange also for this reason, for the story. The first chapter came out almost 10 years ago and made history, history that cannot simply be left behind.Their bond was special. Please don't waste this opportunity. Can't wait to play the game!

Also as excited as I am for this game, I do think it is a disservice to the community for getting rid of Chloe and the rewind powers. There's so much possibilities they could have done with Max and Chloe. Even tho DeckNine didnt make LiS1, they have proven to me how capable they are with True colors, so Im hoping they can deliver something similiar

The first game had a slightly better balance than later entries. Pandering never feels authentic.

What are you even talking about? The entire franchise has always been "liberal." A huge part of the first game is about criticizing a wealthy family who has a monopoly over a town. That seems pretty one-sided to me. Fiction is allowed to be inherently politcal because you're supposed to gain a lesson when consuming any form of story. Think of the boys, a clearly left leaning show that very prominently attacks republican/conservative ideals. If you don't like the political aspect of a story, then you don't have to read/watch/play it.

I think it would be naive to assume this game would use the True Colors style romance choice making, if anything I’m sure it would be like Warren/Chloe how it’s slightly just thrown out and you can assume from there and make maybe 1-2 small interactions that explicitly show it lol
