    The Brady Bunch was a charming, wholesome show and she was great in her role as the mom.

      It was actually really toxic, as blended families are nothing like that, yet people still expect it to be like that, and it's not. Some families do work (a friend of mine has her mum, her stepdad, known as "Dad", her bio dad, and her brother. She has a daughter, and three stepsons from her hubby. And they get along fantastically. On the other side, a few years ago, a friend's 12yo shot themselves in the head, because of the crap one of the parents was putting them through. This parent was a horrific bully, and when they remarried, the stepkids joined in. Poor kid left a note for them, explaining why they felt they couldn't go on like that.

    In her later years, she was dating a chiropractor down in ft lauderdale that most of us musicians went to. A drummer friend of mine encountered her in the waiting room, and was just staring- thinking.." she looks just like florence henderson " - afraid to ask- she just stared back at him, and said " yeah, thats me...." breaking the ice without him saying a word. 😂 He said she was very gracious, sharp witted, and exuded all of the positive qualities of legend. She stands as one of the greats.

    I had never thought about how her children felt with their mom being the perceived mom of the generation of kids watching TV. I bet that was a strange feeling. I can still remember as a child watching The Brady Bunch and hearing Carol say awwwww Mike as they were lying in bed talking about something or another that one of the kids had done. Robert Reed was also a very good actor, although if I remember correctly, he was much more into stage and Shakespeare. I loved the Brady Bunch and the Partridge family and later on the Hardy Brothers with Shaun Cassidy and Parker Stevenson. But I will say I did not have any posters of any of the Brady guys on my wall like I did with David Cassidy, Shaun Cassidy , Donnie Osmond and even Bobby Sherman.. I do remember Florence Henderson from the Wesson Oil commercials and the lady from the Wizard of Oz on the Maxwell House Coffee commercials.

      @barbaraparker6996 I am still surprised to this day that my mom bought so many tiger beat and whatever other magazines that had all those pictures in it that we plastered all over our walls. I also thought the guy on H.R. Puffinstuff was cute but he had quite a tragic life and death. I was watching me TV last night with my husband and a commercial came on for Emergency! I can't remember the dark-haired guy's name, but he was a cutie. I never did get into CHIPS. I also liked Adam 12. And my mom loved the Rockford Files - well anything with James Garner. And she also loved Tom Selleck. My mom is 97 and sadly she has dementia, but she retired from the Pentagon in 1997. Her screensaver on her computer was Tom Selleck from his Magnum PI days.

      @@barbaraparker6996same, no heart throbs, just a fantasy of the perfect family, perfect house, perfect clothes, perfect hair in ribbons and bows, kids coming home from school to shiny fruit on the table, mom always there to greet them in a dress and heels, dad coming home in a convertible from his architect job with his briefcase in hand, hair-brushing their hair in front of the dressing mirror before bed in their perfect nightgowns, with hair brushes cleaned by Alice …. family conferences with both mom and dad in the family room when there needed to be a talk…. And as phony as it all was, I loved it.

    I
    always remembered a story she told about the Brady Bunch shows:
    she said kids would write her & beg her to come take them away from their own unhappy real life families. One little girl wrote & said she’d have her suitcase ready & she’d be waiting for her at the nearest bus stop. They didn’t know the show was real.

  • @robynsegg
    @robynsegg 19 дней назад +22

    About the #StarTrek segment... Could it be that they ignored Florence because THEY KNEW THAT SHE WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THERE? And that by doing so they let her sit there to get her make up done, for whatever reason... an audition, as an extra... etc. To me, ignoring her was helping her...which was the kindest thing that they could ever do. RIP to Florence, Robert and Leonard... and thank you for making our childhood via the TV 📺memorable ones! #LiveLongAndProsper to all who read my comment. 🖖😃

So many actors today are so self absorbed and want to make their political opinions, activist views etc. Known that they degrade their craft and characters.

      Being long and long winded are not the same thing.
      Long winded means taking to long to get to the point with over long and poorly constructed sentences with extrainious words or information that is completely irrelevant to the point being made.
      Theres even words in some of the sentences that don't even belong or make any sense in the context in which they are used.
