Yes so true what you say. I as a drummer picked up another 2 things from his playing that I never really heard any other drummer do or do like him. His use of hi hat open and close technique between beats and the quick alternations between ride and China very evident in the end part of Subdivisions. I found myself using the hi hat technique subconsciously but the ride China technique consciously. Cheers!
