It sounds kind of like a neck pickup, but when I've done it with the neck pickup it sounds too dark, I think its the bridge pickup with the tone pot rolled off, which I can't do in one take, nor would he have been able to do properly live :)

It sounds like he has two separate recordings of that part layered, one on the neck and one on the bridge
@@alexoboyle9339 that's what I always thought. This is a great jam tune for the band but I've always found this particular part to never sound right.
