It's so fun to hear how excited Z gets discovering something new, then his brain goes crazy with how many things he wants to do and starts running in all directions, fully admitting he's a spaz, then centers himself and starts on an idea. I cracked up so much watching his Subnautica run I HAD to tune in for this. Great stuff Z, keep it up man.
a corridor miner in the nickel area is all you need, there are no nickel deposit asteroids currently. Same for silver. Setting up a small teleport station with one in the iridium will cover those also, and no suit needed since teleport inside a habitat. Red celestite is now respawnable resource in the red caves.
Please go back to the huge 3 part broken ship and open those containers. They are full of blueprints ❤
24:11 Just build a 'Power Station' that's close to your base but not attached to it that you can expand as needed. Then you don't end up with a whole bunch of useless corridors attached to your base.
Why does it have to be close ??? i built mine power station far away it is just corridors in a huge square shape and have over 40 small batteries on it and have 17000 power for my 16-17 deposit miners and 26 corridors miners (i have close to 18 medium storage full of just iron half and half of bars and ore
@@ironch3fq498 It doesn't have to be close. Just more convenient to have it near where you have your materials. Of course, you could also build a teleporter and then having it farther away isn't as much of an issue.

I have a power station way up in the sky, completely expandable so I can build my base how I want it wihtout having to worry about where I'm putting power.
I swear, this level of enthusiasm is necessary for Astrometica, Adds so much!
I built my energy station separate from my work/living station just for the fun of it to do something a little different.
You have 2 iron and 1 copper deposit very close to the gold deposit you set your miner on. Personally I set up there for those 3 resources, and put down a "teleport station" there as well. Makes it nice and easy to go fetch more. Only other deposit I've seen is for quartz.
You can also setup a mining station with a teleporter inside the green cloud for iridium and as long as you stay inside you won't need the green suit.

8:38 Honestly, it was when I was making use of deposit miners and teleporters that I changed out the normal batteries on my base to the advanced ones. It's not that much of a difference between the two on a one-to-one basis, but when your base has 8 of them, it adds up. Also not like resources were hard to get by that point.
17:23 The drones didn't respawn, you just never took all of them out. There /might/ have been a respawn after the patch, but I don't really think so.

23:15 Yeah, stack sizing is a slight peeve of mine in this. Corridor miners stack to 10, deposit miners stack to 20, but all other storage only stacks to 5. I really would at least like base storage to be higher even if player stacks remain at 5.
23:55 Even if it's off-screen, you really should get batteries sorted and have one charger always full of spares. I keep one full charge power cell in vehicle storage JIC and two full batteries in my inventory while (generally) always swapping out batteries for full ones each time I come back into the base.

34:09 They do not. At this time, only deposit nodes are Iron, Copper, Quartz and Gold. You'd be better off making outpost miner 'stations' for other needed resources (like silver, nickle and iridium)
Considering most material asteroids respawn when you reload the game. You currently only need a deposit miner for quartz until the automation update. Because there are spots around Theta-9 map where you can setup corridor miners to specifically collect Iron, Copper, Coal, Ice, Iridium, Gold, Nickel and Silver. Also in Theta-12 you can setup corridor miners to collect Blue crystals, Nanite, Iron and Copper currently however they require a new power grid.
There's one thing in the game that I overlooked until recently and that most people seem to overlook as well. It's these big cylindrical objects that are pointed at both ends. It looks like a big two sided javelin oder something like this. Fly to one and scan it.
It is a nice toy, though with the vehicle it's a lot less useful. I stopped using mine once I had the craft. Also didn't help that deconstructing that didn't give all resources back. :(

24:00 If you setup small corridor mining stations to collect various resources around the map that respawn when you reload the game. You can have them do double duty by also giving them power generation and power storage to expand your grid more.
8:11 Z, the Deposit Miner does seem to be an infinite resource, but you'll need to regularly clear it's Inventory for it to keep working. It looks like it will only hold 3 stacks of materials, but it might be like the Corridor Laser Miner in that the stacks hold 10 pieces instead of 5. The biggest issue is that the Deposit Miner requires 200 units of POWER PER DEPOSIT MINER. 3 x DEPOSIT MINERS will take 600 units of power. That will probably be your biggest issue...

30:00 Unsure if they had it planned or not but I did suggest to the developers. About adding a habitat battery to go directly on top or bottom with higher storage capacity in the future. Maybe even making it able to fit in the middle of a large habitat that has solar panels on the roof.
Shift+ click transfers all of that same item. You don’t have to individually choose every stack. 😊
I love how he said he would keep it organized if he could do this 😆 and later in the video he actually shift clicks things and still says he can’t do it 😂

I just realized that you can build a bunch of corridors anywhere and qttach batteries to them if you ever need more power
Place a standard miner next to the small nickle area. All you need is a corridor and a miner. Iron ore can be the large red veined rocks.
Silver and nickel both have places that are great for the smaller miner/ corridor set up. Also they are near-ish to each other.
Hey Z 2 things 1. I think you can make a beacon to mark locations of I Teresa to check if anything changes there and 2. Have you even put your first vehicle into the vehicle dock and see what you can do to it.?

Currently nanite bars are only used for scan distance 3 module. But it's likely wise to stock pile it now for the future.

While in the red cave you can use the scanner to ping for red celestite. There should be 4 or 5 spots that respawn when you reload the game.

You can rename the storage and it will show up on the front of the storage box. Just on click the medium storage name and rename it. Hope that helps.
There is large nickel asteroid field just on the other side of the red cave entrance. Go left of the entrance and over the ridge until you see a dome. The asteroids above the dome are all nickel.
10:30 I think those drones will continue to respawn so long as they have something to protect (A.K.A. those unopened supply creates).
Maybe make a base that's placed purely for the scenery and is more like a "home" base with beds and tables? You can then use a teleporter to get to it and your "functional" base as needed.
I have mine between the Warp Gate and the Toxic Cloud, and use modules/corridors with a *lot* of glass. It is very pretty

I have found that once you get to the point where you can mine infinite ore....you really don't need it. Maybe once more content is released it will be relevant.
The old station hub airlock has two corridor connection points which you can put a mining or power storage on.
Don't forget your vehicle has storage which you also have an additional upgrade you haven't built yet.
There aren't any silver or nickel large deposits that I can find anywhere. I have my main base near silver asteroids, so the corridor miner gets those for me. I also have a base with a teleporter near the same gold/copper nodes you setup deposit miners on, I have one near the nickel asteroids with corridor miner and teleporter, and one in the toxic cloud with a corridor miner and teleporter to get irridium for me. That way I can pop around the map to get whatever I need using the teleporter network. For nanites and blue crystals you need to go to Theta 12, I haven't setup mining operations there because you don't really need much of either one, or at least I haven't needed them.
18:00 if you get in close to a deposit it should tell you what type it is without having to place a miner.
5:25 you can shift+click and it will transfer all of that item you click on.

Since power is universal, I just make an array of solar panels and batteries away from my base so have more flexibility when building my base.

Z does remember that he can put materials for things in the cars cargo unit
You can ram the drones with the front of your vehicle. You cannot use space bar and bump them that way. It has to be the front of your vehicle
Z, you should slap solar panels on all the mini/mining bases you're putting up. You really need power generation more than power storage. At least, that's how it looks to me, I may be a bit off, but that is how I tend to play such games.
You gotta play your way, though, so... you do you. Oh yeah, didn't you, at some point, transfer everything into a storage with a click? Like, there is CTRL or SHIFT transfers?
Use the vertical tubes on you base and have a multi-story space station

If you get right next to the big resource nodes it tells you what it is. There are no nanite nodes.
Btw there’s a tie fighter in the toxic zone
Z Think if you hold Shift while building you can build more of the same thing with out having to go back into menu each time.
Have you tried placing beacons down yet to help identify your locations? You can name whatever along with what color it is.
So far I have not found big nodes of nickel or silver. Odd that when you used your scanner it didn't say what the node was, pretty sure when I scan them it does show what it is.
I've got an idea but also a question I don't have the game yet but from seeing what I have so far I'm wondering if you use the toxic suit to build in the toxic zones then extend the entrance all the way out of the toxic zone would thst protect you from the toxic zone by walking inside the temporary base thst you place miners on without the need for the toxic suit again to revisit the place
I believe there are currently only deposits for Iron, Copper, Quartz and Gold.
As far as i know there is no nickel or silver deposit node there is about 7-9 Iron/3 Copper/3 Quartz/1 Gold deposit nodes
You never interacted with the drones that you thought respawned. You only killed the ones by the miner.
Why don't you build a forward base by or in the toxic zone so you can have a corridor miner to collect iridium

I built a miner with teleporter on the iridium and nickel deposits the rest is easy
Mr Z1 i would greatly appreciate if you could go back to dyson sphere and continue or make a new playthrough of the dark fog that they have for it, Ive watched you play from the beginning when it was still in early access and I would greatly like to watch you play through the dark fog and fight even more than just the planetary bases. >_

Yes, you can add extensions onto the solar panels once you find the blueprint for that, he mentioned it in this episode.
Is there a place to that has silver for mining like the nickel? I’m all out of silver and need it
There isn’t an infinite place but if you goto the red cave entrance and fly above it there is a lot there, set up a miner there and it does respawn
These is a small silver asteroid field like the nickel one. It’s right over the ridge next to the nickel one. It also is above a blue shield that has a container building.

No, the number of batteries determines how much you have available, you still need enough solar panels to charge up the batteries faster than your equipment is depleting them. The logic for when your power goes out is kind of odd, you might have a bunch of machines doing nothing but they prevent you from building more machines, probably would be better logic if power only went out when you drain your batteries and then you would have to decide between more production vs. more storage.
