Shanghai tower was designed by an American. So was the Burj Kahlifa was also designed by an American. So in some way America hasn't lost the skyscraper race yet. We still design the world's tallest skyscrapers for other countries.
It was designed by a team of experts lead by a CHINESE architect. That company has many offices. If it’s building in China it needs to use talent because Chinese people culturally require things to be done in accordance to our beliefs and preferences. I’m a designer and I’m Chinese I know that when foreigners don’t take into account culture things don’t work out. For high stakes investment you can’t be an amateur and risk it. Chinese firms are more than capable of doing this too. But this project was conceived way before our Chinese architects became more popular. MAD architects is Chinese and it’s considered one of the best in the world since the 2010’s.
To those of you who are Chinese and want to compare beyond the skyscraper, fine. America leads in space projects, has far more airports, has far fewer high speed rail lines (high speed rail = 3rd world; airports = 1st world), more bridges, a bigger economy, and higher technology, both for the civilian sector as well as the military. ... Not bad for a country having 1/5th the population of China...
It's nearly impossible to compare the two countries because they're very different, and the US is a liberal democracy. China functions like the world's largest prison. You should also take in consideration how many CCP trolls and government officials are commenting to boost interest in China as they reopen their economy. Competition in space and technology is the best result of Cold Wars superpower competition. If you're genuinely supportive of America, you shouldn't feel eager to see China fail. They are slowly become less communist, but it's still a centralized command economy that's planned by the government rather than the free market. Communism never works, and now that their double digit growth has begun to decline, there's going to be civil unrest. It's easy to keep the country unconcerned about freedom when the economy is growing, but now that it's slowing down, there will be more demands for freedom.

US skyscrapers actually look iconic, quality, and memorable while I look at China and just say "cool".
You're american right?
@@damianjf6357 You're Hispanic right?
@@azulaquaza4916 I am Luxembourgish but my father was Hispanic
@@damianjf6357 .... -_- a Luxembourgish with the name Josue and Torrez.
The only iconic US skyscrapers is the Empire State, Sears Tower and the Twin Towers.
But my best is uae 🇦🇪 and Singapore 🇸🇬
Even though the World Trade Center is not as tall as the China skyscrapers, it will always be my favorite because of what it resembles for America and NYC
Wait till PNB 118 (644m) defeat the Shanghai Tower
Yeah but with 200m+ spire...Cheating don't you think.
@@dimsumden5745 yea lol
Wait a sec....the spire is only about 144 metres....U can check it at CTBUH.....even burj khalifa has an almost 200 metres spire... Please make a strong statement before claiming anything 😂lol
@@naelhaikal4566 644-144 = 500m is 132m shorter than Shanghai Tower.
@@dimsumden5745 still taller than Shanghai Tower....even with the spire...CTBUH count it as the part of the building too...even burj khalifa with the 200m+ spire is now the tallest building in the world..828-200=628...which is 4m shorter than Shanghai Tower..but why can it be the tallest building in the world???
Remember! Spire is also count as the part of the building...but not the antenna!!!
Both cities are good👍👍.
Burj Khalifa has entered the chat
it doesn't matter how high other cities construct their buildings....New York is an Icon....and its one of the more powerful cities in the world.
Spot on the chinese can build what they want but you will never beet the nyc skline!!!
Sorry NYC, Sorry One World Trade Center, don't fool Urself
antennas doesn't count, no matter what U say.
Central park tower is taller.
One World Trade Center was disappointing to say the least
NOOOOOOOOOO
Gosh , i prefer the skyscrapers of the USA from far.
.....................................................
Also , i love your skyscraper videos . Continue with that !
The point is,it is built, the comparison is the beauty of it at night when it shine.
3:05 random shot out Las Vegas window...
Lol, didn't notice before, but I don't think NYC is in sight of mountains...
You should have included the Twin Towers without mentioning 9-11. They were still the tallest buildings in the World once. I’m not going to be sad they’re not here anymore, I’m going to be happy they existed to begin with. Served an incredible and integral purpose to The Untied States.
I don't know but I still prefer the American design 🇺🇲
I wonder if they were designed by USA or other countries
The skyscrapers built of granite ROCK SOLID!!!
shangai tiene futuro y a donde extenderse en cambio NY tiene mas historia
Ay amigo que te puedo decir… NO. Shanghai es una ciudad fundada en 1291. Estados Unidos apenas tiene poco más de 200 años de historia. Necesitas estudiar mucho
Shanghai tower was designed by an American. So was the Burj Kahlifa was also designed by an American. So in some way America hasn't lost the skyscraper race yet. We still design the world's tallest skyscrapers for other countries.
Ha ha. Burj khalifa was designed by South Korean company.
So? Even World Trade center is designed by Japanese architect minoru yamasaki
USA scycrapers considered tall because of their antennas haha...china is amazing compared to USA
Nothing amazing about repetitive glass skyscrapers, beauty over height anyday
Empire State is still the best!
I really do like One WTC for US and Shanghai Tower for China.

Big dreamers work harder:Top luxury one of them!
I think China is already #1 in skyscrapers
The 6th tallest building was completed in 2015.

My favourite city new York from india
Cool
In a post COVID world, will the boom continue?
in China and the USA it will continue, but China and the USA will never make them higher than 600m because they are useless and are just a symbol
Counting with the spire, one world trade center is the tallest building in america, but the central park tower roof is taller than 1wtc roof
One wtc is 1776 feet at pinnacle and 1368 feet as was the north tower of the wtc pre 9/11. Also. The oculus does not connect anything to Staten Island at all, The transportation hub goes to Brooklyn, Midtown, Queens, The Bronx and New Jersey. Please please put a new voice over on that section
Few countries can be compared to China, in terms of skyscraper. Chinese cities just love them so much. 💕
The class and unique style of US city skylines with supertall yet classic art deco design really draws me, but to each their own :D
Balneário Cambúriu apracendo no começo kkkkk
In my fictional world, both countries have skyscrapers more higher than this
China is already #1 in skyscrapers and infrastructures.
