Hello, my wife and I moved off grid a year and a half ago and began restoring the fifty year old log cabin. Just recently we were getting to the old 1890’s wood cook stove and found your channel. The lasagna special haha. Loved it. We began going through your entire catalog of videos. It was a real change from punching a time clock but I really enjoy the variety of my days and living to the seasons. We love your videos and appreciate the effort you put into them. Thanks!

I sooooooo totally respect your choice to do things based on your experience and your personal preferences. I watch your videos because we have similar lifestyles and I always learn something new. 10% of the time I say I like that, I am going to try that. 10% of the time I say that's not how I do it but either way works fine and 80% of the time we do things the same way. Makes me laugh when someone tells me "what I need" or "what I should do"....I snap right back and say "look at your life, you obviously don't even know what's in your OWN best interests and yet you're going to tell ME what I should do? Ha Ha!"

Made me smile when you improvised and made your apple pie. So many times I've made meals with what i had and ended up with something I'd make again. A lot of my recipes over the years were created because my family loved them and wanted them again. lol now my mouth is watering... I think I'll go make me an apple crisps. thanks for making me hungry lol
That was a great looking pie. I love cooking with the Colman Oven, they work awesome.
Your very creative idea of adding the granola bar only sounds funny until you break it down to the ingredients. What a great idea! I might miss the molasses of the brown sugar but the peanut butter was the substitute along with the cocoa powder in the granola bar. Now all you have to do is give it a name and let Lori try it too. If she likes it then you can plan on making the "peanut butter & apple" pie for a new holiday tradition or camp special, lol. Glad you didn't fall off the roof too!

I showed up for the solar install but I like listening to you, so I stayed for the pie adventure. I JUST threw out a stove top metal box like your little Coleman because the tempered glass broke on it and the feet were missing. You made me think I shoulda kept it... Great video, new sub 👍

My son's favorite snack is sliced apples with peanut butter.
Great job with the pie! I loved the improvisation with the granola bar. 🙂 Honey is always a good alternative to sugar when baking. Maple syrup would probably be good too.
