Wohoo 🎉 I made the Picnic Quilt Parade😁 that's made my day Pat😊Im afraid its still in the quilting stage but I'll post a picture in the group when its all completed. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing everything quilty. I just love seeing everyone's creations and you give great guidance Pat❤
I love how your piecing the back. I sometimes get tired of the fabric after I have done a project. Except for your Morrison park line. I still love most of those fabrics.
Pat I am so glad you are making the Make a Wish quilt with a medium toned background. I've seen it up close with the lovely navy and very light background but wondered what would happen with medium range. I think it reads so well. It's a little softer than the navy. Thanks for the quilt parade too!
Happy Birthday to Mr. Gregg!! Pat, your Heart of America quilt is gorgeous!! I love your Picnic quilt and the backing❤. And your Make a Wish quilt is looking amazing!! I do have a time with getting tired of fabric once I've made a project with it. But I keep it all for someday because I don't want to waste anything. Don't know what I'll do with all the left over fabric. Maybe a very large mismatched quilt as my last quilt when I get to the point that I can't really sew anymore 😂. Love your videos Pat thank you so much for all the hard work you put in to them.
Tell Mr Greg Happy Birthday ! I have a son whose birthday is today and also our 11 th grandchild and 2nd grandson was born this morning ! Feeling so blessed !
Happy Birthday Mr. Gregg 🎉. Yes, when I work with fabric for awhile making a quilt I'm over it. I get tired of working with the same fabric over and over unless I really love it to start with.
My hubby’s birthday is the 13th. He is a Gemini and I am also a Sagittarius! Pat, I think it does work. Itbus definitely a challenge at times but isn’t that what makes life fun?😅
To make mint tea by the gallon. Boil 4 cups water. Take off heat and add 5 regular bags plain tea add 1 bag of mint tea. Let sit 20 minutes. Remove bags of tea from water and squeeze out excess water from bags. Throw away bags. Add 1 cup sugar to a one gallon pitcher, add tea water, stir to dissolve sugar, finish filling pitcher with water. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Fill glasses with ice, add tea, and enjoy. It has a mild mint flavor and is mildly sweet. I like it without any sugar. Other family likes 2 cups of sugar, which is too sweet for me.
Heart of America looks great in your studio. I like the backing you put together for the picnic quilt. And I really like the colors you are using for the Moonbeams charity quilt. Have a good day.
I always use any left over layer cake squares to finish off the back of the quilt. I really like the way it looks and helps to stretch my fabric out. I know I probably won’t use them in another project.
While I may get sick of a fabric combination while piecing a project, I usually get over it after a bit, and then I am curious about using it in different ways. Every once in a while I decide I never want to see a fabric again, and I donate it. The rest goes into my scraps and maybe later I will give it a new life with totally different partners. Sometimes those leftovers are the zing that a project needs. My current leader and ender project that takes 80 2” squares and 5 3.5” squares to make a plus block uses tons of old fabrics that you might call outdated or never think to use together, but they are coming together into a really interesting quilt as I play with contrast in the individual blocks. It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I love the effect.
Loved the picnic quilt parade and your quilt and pieced backing. I finally finished the Mercantile quilt and back, increasing it to King-sized for my daughter’s bed. It’s ready to go to the spa. Time to put together my picnic quilt.
I tend not to get tired of fabric that I used because I buy each piece individually and only a small amount. I only buy pieces that sing to me. I don’t purchase jelly rolls or fat quarter bundles or pre cuts from one line. I don’t like to have multiple color ways of one design. Plus I don’t like the color blue and those are included in 99% of precuts. I prefer my quilts to be completely individual and not from one designer. Why would I pay for fabric that I don’t like nor would include in my quilt. If there is a fabric I am bored of I cut it into two and a half inch strips or squares. If I really dislike it I use it to practice free motion quilting designs on before I quilt my quilt. I like to keep a couple strips of every fabric for a scrap quilt to show all the fabrics I’ve ever used. I made a millennium quilt with every fabric before the year 2000. Came out gorgeous and is a great reflection of every quilt that I ever made. And if a fabric some how made it into my collection from a fabric swap or gift and it is just not for me (blue ones) I donate them for charity quilts. Love how the quilt on the wall is coming out ❗️
The Heart of America quilt is a beauty ❤..good job! Lol. Who doesn't love a parade !😀 You quilters are awesome! Ive never really done a pieced back but im coming around to this challenge . ☺️ 💞 A Sag & Gem are a good match i think. Happy birthday Mr Greg. 🍩lol🧋🧋. Wow so many items today...the make a wish blocks are beautiful too! 🙏🩷
Happy Birthday Gregg🆒🎶. I ordered my cup and T-shirt. I’m so glad they have long sleeves in the shirts. I’m making Heart of America. My first Americana quilt for me. I’ve made one for my daughter. Gave it wat. Enjoy the rain cause I live in Idaho which dose not get much rain. Like 6 to 12 inches a year.☔️
I do have a tendency to use fabric left over from the quilt top on the back unless someone selected a specific fabric for thew back. one time does not always do it for me. If I really like the fabric, I may make a second quilt or other type of quilt. For example, One of my first big quilts was a "Teacher" quilt for a friend who is a retired teacher. I used the leftovers to make a "school" quilt for my micro-preemie great granddaughter who will start school in September. The rest, I gave to a friend as now I am tired of it.
Happy Birthday hubby Gregg! We sent you that heavy rain from Kansas--we've had so much rain and thunderstorms lately. Today, however, is pretty and sunny! Heart of America looks perfect hanging in that space! I use those same rings to hold my quilts when I take pictures of them, and yes, quilts are very heavy. I've worried that the teeth on the clips will damage the quilt edges but I haven't had that problem so far {knock on wood}.
I love to use the jump rings, because I hate adding a rod pocket to quilts! I like to use wooden craft dowels to insert in the hanging rod, so it won't bow due to the weight of the quilt.
Happy Birthday to Mr. Gregg from a fellow Gemini! My husband is also a "Lunar Twin" and his birthday is Wednesday! Regarding being "done" with a fabric line: When I've used a fabric line I agree I probably wouldn't want a whole big project in that same line but I wouldn't mind a coordinating smaller piece (like a mug rug or pillow cover) and I do love seeing how bits of it can be used as a accent with another line or as scraps in other projects.
Love your flag shirt! You do so much for us. You are fabulous! I am going to figure out how to use your link every time I use Amazon or The Fat Quarter Shop.
In the South, sweet tea is a favorite. Way too sweet for me! When we’re in a restaurant that has sweet and unsweetened tea, my husband has them make it with half sweet, and half unsweetened, and it’s just right for him.
Happy Birthday, Mr. Gregg, from one Gemini to another. We always had ice tea at dinner when I was a kid but Mom always used Nestea instant. Pat, your Make a Wish quilt is beautiful💕 Love the new mugs with a handle. I have one of the other ones, love it but is hard to hold with my small hands. Love the sound of the rain. We are in our dry season here in the desert southwest. Monsoon season will be here in a few weeks but past few years hasn't brought much rain. Growing up in the midwest I didn't think I would ever miss rain...lol
Yea I agree with you! After making a quilt I don’t want to look at the fabric for a while ! I love it at the time of making the quilt then I’m sick of it ! I thought I was the only one who thought like this .
My picnic quilt is patriotic Red, White & Blue!! Wonder where you pull the pics for your parade from? Guess I’ll never know because I’m not a FB participate 👌🏼 Ty for sharing the clips/hanger technique 🤗
Hi Pat! I use those exact same clips & some of the ones I hang in the bathroom, I have to put 1 clip on each side of the bracket to get it to hang straighter. I only use 5 clips for that space, though. Yours looks great hanging there. And I love the way you pieced the backing for the Picnic quilt!

Happy birthday Mr Greg. No mowing the grass today! It’s your day.
Happy Birthday Mr Gregg. Celebrate yourself especially today but everyday. Embrace your 🎁 of LIFE.
I saw a Route 66 quilt which had quilt blocks from each state using Route 66 themed fabric prints.

Everyone’s , picnic parade quilt are great. Pat your Make a Wish Quilt looking fantastic. The donut does look very real. Thanks Pat for sharing 👍❤️🙂
I love how your make a wish quilt is turning out!
Happy Birthday Mr Greg! Love the backing you did for the picnic quilt! ❤
LOVE the backing treatment for your picnic quilt! I may have to use this technique! Thanks for all the sharing that you send our way.
I love how your piecing the back. I sometimes get tired of the fabric after I have done a project. Except for your Morrison park line. I still love most of those fabrics.
Happy birthday Mr. Greg. Relax and enjoy a lazy day in the rain.
Pat, your Heart of American quilt looks so great in your space and the other two little wallhangings match it so well! Very Americana❤️😊
Pat I am so glad you are making the Make a Wish quilt with a medium toned background. I've seen it up close with the lovely navy and very light background but wondered what would happen with medium range. I think it reads so well. It's a little softer than the navy. Thanks for the quilt parade too!
Texas had blue bonnet (flower) fabric

Your Make a Wish is so nice!!! I’m sure it will help bring in lots of money to that wonderful organization.
That mug would be great to take in the car, because it would fit in the cup holder of most cars, since it’s narrow at the bottom.
Happy Birthday Mr. Greg have a great day!
Tell Mr Greg Happy Birthday ! I have a son whose birthday is today and also our 11 th grandchild and 2nd grandson was born this morning ! Feeling so blessed !
Your shirt matches the Make a Wish quilt! Happy Birthday Mr Greg 🎉
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREG.
We have a statewide shop hop and there’s new state fabric every year.
I agree. I like to finish a project and then move onto another fabric. I did however use all scrapes for my picnic quilt.
that is great!
To make mint tea by the gallon. Boil 4 cups water. Take off heat and add 5 regular bags plain tea add 1 bag of mint tea. Let sit 20 minutes. Love that pieced back. And yes, I am over the fabric after making a quilt, so I try very hard to use it all in the backing.
Happy birthday Mr. Greg! The Picnic quilts are fabulous!
I always use any left over layer cake squares to finish off the back of the quilt. I really like the way it looks and helps to stretch my fabric out. I know I probably won’t use them in another project.
Happy happy birthday Mr. Greg!
Use your charms alternating with layer cake for your strip to make it wide enough for the backing
I like the idea of a states' quilt.
Great picnic quilts.
While I may get sick of a fabric combination while piecing a project, I usually get over it after a bit, and then I am curious about using it in different ways. Beautiful picnic quilts- I’m inspired!
Glad you like them!
The quilt looks great hanging. I bought a very long rod to hang two wall hanging quilts from side by side or one large quilt.
If you move the last clip on the right to the outside of the bracket, you can probably straighten out that wave in the quilt.
The quilt hanging on the wall looks absolutely gorgeous, especially with all the other red in your space!
Happy birthday, Mr. Gregg. Blessings on your special day.
If I have enough fabric left from a project I’ll use it in a charity quilt.
Happy Birthday Mr. Greg!! I love unsweetened iced tea.
The picnic quilt parade was so much fun and inspirational! I am excited to get started on making one! Thanks Pat!! Happy Birthday to Mr. Gregg!!
Loved the picnic quilt parade and your quilt and pieced backing. I finally finished the Mercantile quilt and back, increasing it to King-sized for my daughter’s bed. It’s ready to go to the spa. Time to put together my picnic quilt.
That "Donut" is Beyond Amazing! LOVE Your version of the Charity Quilt--really enhances the pattern.
Your Make a wish is WONDERFUL!

Love how the quilt on the wall is coming out ❗️
Love the gray background. It really helps the colors be outstanding. Thanks for showing difference way.
Your quilt looks beautiful hanging in your sewing room❤️
The Heart of America quilt is a beauty ❤..good job! Lol. Who doesn't love a parade !😀 You quilters are awesome! Ive never really done a pieced back but im coming around to this challenge . ☺️ 💞 A Sag & Gem are a good match i think. Happy birthday Mr Greg. 🍩lol🧋🧋. Wow so many items today...the make a wish blocks are beautiful too! 🙏🩷
I agree with you on using fabric again in another package
I would put the center squares in the opposite corners. Because the squares next to them now are so busy and have the same fabric. Just a thought.
Try putting the clip on the right out past bracket. It may take out the wave with the pressure on the bracket. Love the quilt!!
Happy Birthday Gregg🆒🎶.
I ordered my cup and T-shirt. I’m so glad they have long sleeves in the shirts.

We have Washington state fabrics at JoAnn’s. Also, I have a FPP book of quilt blocks for each state.
I love to use the jump rings, because I hate adding a rod pocket to quilts!
I like to use wooden craft dowels to insert in the hanging rod, so it won't bow due to the weight of the quilt.

If I like a fabric collection I tend to over buy and get tired of it before it is gone. I am trying to control myself more
Looks absolutely AWESOME
Happy Birthday, Gregg! Geminis rule!🍰

Happy belated Birthday Mr Greg
Make sure one clip is on the other side of bracket on both sides

I feel the same about using fabric. One project and I’m done.
