Ear plugs single-handedly saved my undergrad! Being a very light sleeper meant even people waking past my room talking at night would wake me up 😫 a really good alternative to the silicone ones are “Quies” which are pure wax - I found them to be softer and more comfortable to sleep with!
@@moarzt Yup, I haven't missed an alarm I'm not really a deep sleeper particuly in the morning but if you are a very deep sleeper this could be different. My phone is usually very close to my bedside so that helps too
I'm an ED nurse, not doctor but the Oxford Handbook of Emergency Medicine is very helpful, I like it to read about new conditions I've not dealt with before. I also have the OH of Emergency Nursing. Expensive for the newer up to date editions but worth every penny. :)
I’ve bought a whiteboard for my 2nd year I can’t wait to start using it and take it to my new house... I’ll be sticking it on with command strips which are a life saver 🤩✌🏼
Sarah Nicholls really enjoying it missing it though... roll on September 😬 it’s a lot of work but with organisation and discipline I’m coping (so far) 🤞🏼😊 thank you for asking 🤗
Instead of the MateBook X Pro, I suggest the MateBook 14 AMD Ryzen 7 4800H. It's much more powerful, touch screen, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD for less than £1000. Only downside is the battery is less than 10 hrs.
You definitely dont NEED to buy it. Upto date is a great resource. I find the Oxford clinical handbooks more practical in terms of giving you an overview and a management plan for the patient, very useful for clerking in new patients.
Hi Sarah I love your videos I find them so educational and entertaining I’m going into year 10 next year and I was wondering what work experience places would you recommend going on for people who want to become a doctor in the future ❤️❤️
Hi Malika! Thanks for your lovely comment :) anything medical / care related would be useful for you - shadowing in a GP practice, hospital, pharmacy, care home etc. Good luck to you!
hi, im a bit late here, but i’ve never had any trouble reversing my sleep schedule without earplugs or a eye mask. this could be because i’m an insomniac.

You give me motivation to work out and eat healthy! I've been having trouble lately with this but now I feel a lot better, thanks!
That's great! It can be tough sometimes but I find I have a lot more sustained energy when I eat well and get enough rest and exercise

I’m not even a medical student but this is a great video 😬 what would we do without amazon 🤩
Thank you! Totally agree - I order from amazon more than I'd like to admit 😂
One question. Let's say I am using Up To Date on the Wards do I need to buy the Oxford Handbook?
