Is there a recipe to use fresh milk?

I highly recommend making your own soap. I’ve been doing it for over 30 years. I’ve taught many people along the way and it seems the biggest fear is the lye. If you follow proper safety precautions the lye is not an issue. And the soap is so very worth it! I use many different oils and butters, they all have different and good properties. I start with the basics, olive, coconut and palm, and go from there with castor, sweet almond, sunflower oils, cocoa or shea butter, goat’s milk or cow’s milk, beeswax, honey, oatmeal, whatever strikes me that day. As far as that new tire smell, I’m also just going to nope right out of that one 😊 but I’m not opposed to fresh cut lumber. With so many people sensitive to fragrance now, I generally don’t use any scents at all though. Thank you for this video, I was nodding my head a lot in agreement with all she said, and it is very nice to know that I’m doing everything the expert is doing, on a much smaller scale of course.

Thank you! I made soap years ago. Then the kids came. It got put on hold, for forty years. I never used the milk. I used different kind of fat, lard, suet, and sheep. This was back in the 70's and 80's. I've been thinking of doing it again. I've missed the clean smell of the laundry with my home made grated soap.

Great information on the dry storage! Those chickens will be happy for sure! Also, I started making soap in the 90’s. Always did cold process method and something I truly loved doing. I’ll be getting back into it again once I buy a house next year. I just don’t have the room where I’m at now. Mt friend showed me how to make hot process using a crock pot and I’ll be doing that too. Thanks for the tutorial!

Peppermint is a must for outdoorsman as it repells fleas and ticks. Now, as for a scent I would like would be wet leather ( too many nights of using a saddle for a pillow)

I think a basil blend scent would be nice. Maybe basil and lily? Thanks for another inspiring vid.

Jonathan and Kyleen: If I could make a soap scent it would be the smell of freshly cut sweet basil from my herb bed. If my hubs smelled like that he would be simply irresistible! For myself my favorite blend of scents is a combo of Jasmine, Mimosa and Tuberose. Coty used to make that blend but it is no longer produced.

Jeri Anne made it look very doable. In the meantime I'll buy a few bars.
As for a scent I'd love- Lilac. And Honeysuckle!💕And Jasmine!

Enjoyed the video. I have made soap before but it was not a goat milk soap. I'd love to make a soap that smelled like fresh lilacs but, as far as I know, there is no lilac essential oil available - and I don't want to use synthetic fragrance oils.

That Hawaiian flower, Plumeria? Starts with a P 😅. ?? I was wondering why a company that sells soap would give out directions on how to make our own.... Good knowledge to have but way too complicated for me. I will buy from them instead lol😊

Where do you get powdered goats milk? How much liquid goats milk would you add? What’s the ratio? Thanks

I would love a lilac scented soap but lilac scented anything is a chemically made scent, there is no natural lilac oil or scent. Lilacs are my favorite flower. ❤️👍🇺🇲

The closest natural scent to Lilac is made by using Orris root which is a dried German Iris root. I too enjoy the fragrance of natural Lilac. You might try the technique used to make rose water for cooking with freshly picked Lilac flowers.
