I started watching quantum leap about 2 weeks ago on season 4 right now watching with my dad cause he likes showing me the stuff he grew up on honestly love it

What did you think of the show? I was a toddler but I remember my mom always watching this show. Excited to watch this recap series
Leaving aside Star Trek, which, in the 90's, had just entered Romania (the first time through the Next Generation), it was the first SF series that caught my breath and I look forward to the next episode. I don't realize how almost 20 years have passed since he saw this series (which, unfortunately, was not played later).
I loved this show as young kid. Great premise.
It was one of my favorite shows and Bakula was one of my heros

Used to love watching this at 6 o clock on bbc2 when mum went to bingo enjoyed it on my own as mum didn't like this

The pilot episode actually took place in 1995, not 1999. But yes, 6 years into the future, “1995” sounded like a cool near future to me as a kid in 1989. Season 4 and 5 took place in 1999.
I have since been corrected on this numerous times 😅 I'll chalk this one up to a misunderstanding I had as a kid that stayed with me

Nice effort but delivery is slow and monotone.
4:00 Any time travel story has to have it's own unique set of rules to follow. Also, having strict rules allows for an opportunity to break the rules, which is always fun. (Ie civil war episode)
The "traveling in their own lifetime" rule. was my mom's issue. She wish they had done more things like the civil war episode. Perhaps if the show had continued, they would have...

There were Quantum Leap comic books and paperback books that furthered the adventures of Sam.
I actually read some of the books. I didn't have any of the comics

I'm watching this even though I missed the original pilot and its reruns and am unlikely to see it unless it's on a streaming service I get some day. Still I thought it would be important for understanding the series even if they change things afterwards.

Nice recap, sir! I stumbled upon this video while searching for a clip of the show to help me pitch it to a friend who'd never heard of it. Watching/listening to this for my own amusement until I order a box set and start on my own rewatch adventure. Going straight to part two of yours now though!

I've seen every episode but not entirely first run. I picked up probably around Season 3. I was 11 at the time
If they made this show today Sam would be a Smantha, most probably a Afro American women, Al would be and Asian female Holograme who gay. Ziggy would be renamed to Mustafa! who is camp!

The show is based on The Stephen King book...which itself could have been inspired by Quantum Leap

'restricted information' is writing speak for the writers can't really explain and they need things to drag on... If Al wanted Sam to remember his own project then he should explain things to him.... its logical. But this represents the series as a whole - Dragging on... and on...

What ever happened to that lady in Al's car? I'm sure she couldn't have gone into the workplace. Maybe she was in it, for a safe exit, she's a spy and destroys operation, leaving Sam alone and maybe killing AL
She's credited as Tina on IMDB as in Al's girlfriend mentioned throughout the series. Not sure if that was intentional or not.

I think you said the show was "progressive" in either this video or the next, which I'll agree with. I'm not sure what the word is for people who say they liked Quantum Leap but don't want to see SJW or "woke" stories in the next Quantum Leap series! Hypocritical?
Pretty much every other episode has something to do with Sam standing up for people to be treated as autonomous people regardless of whether they are Black or a woman, or have something else that people would marginalize them for (blind, in the closet, retarded). But 25+ years of Fox News and Limbaugh have created a mindset of "I'm the only one who matters," people who claim to care for others aren't sincere, truth doesn't matter, nor does democracy, etc.
Their claim is that the original series broached these topics with subtlety. I beg to differ...
@@kormanproductions8943 Yeah, I had the Miss Deep South episode on mute waiting for the next, because the drag episodes were painful for me to watch. When I unmuted it, the episode was about a photographer taking nude photos of the women, and the double-standard that it's the girls' fault and he gets a pass. Until Sam gets in the matron's face and finds she was blackmailed by the photographer. Not very subtle.
I like the episodes where Sam leaps into a woman and its barely a thing. I have things to say about "Miss Deep South" but I'll wait till I get there :)
This is one of my favorite TV series back then. why do you have to do a narration. I was expecting to watch all of the series again. sad.

I agree. If the series aired today, he probably would have been. We started seeing him more in the 5th season. If the series continued that trend probably would have continued

Am I pronouncing 'subsequent' wrong by saying it how everyone ever has pronounced it always. Sub suh quint. If you think this isn't a serious question, you must have not yet heard of Jenghis Kahn. So many content creators I watch, even science channels, have all been saying sub seek went. Or Am I just weetahdid. SUB suh quent or sub SEEK went

It's called a podcast. Now admittedly this particular one on this episode is not great. I do better work as I go along... but this is.....a PODCAST. It says so in the title. There are ways to watch the series I'd you want to do so. But here....PODCAST
