I'd always wondered how fast one could go from cold-and-dark to ready for liftoff. I gotta admit that was even faster than I thought possible, and you even had a second engine start-up sequence to do in there, too!
Back in 2005 I was in a roll over accident with my gf. It was quite a ways from a major city and a trucker who I will never forget was one of the first people to help us and he said don't worry they're already on the way, he called it in right when he saw it. The paramedics decided my gf needed a helicopter. The helicopter got there so fast I thought it must a news helicopter that heard about the accident over the police scanner and ventured a ways into the country to cover it. The helicopter landed and was gone in just a few minutes. Their job is not without risk as we've seen a lot of these helicopters crash. I will always be grateful that people like them are out there. Don't forget that truckers are invaluable and when you least expect they may help you too.
Great video! Did you brake the rotor in the end so that no blade is above the exhausts during engine start-up, because you released the brake a couple of times?
All of us ;) And it's followed at the begining of the service, checking all the systems, calmly, when time is at our side. When a HEMS flight is required, all we have to do is just turn the engines on, all the systems, check the panel and go. We'd love the victims would have 10 minutes more waiting for us, but many time that is impossible, like this one in the video. It's our mission. Anyway, keep using all the safety tools as possible to keep flying safe ;)
Alessandro Cesar I was being sarcastic. I’m aware that engine start, and all gauges indicating proper levels/operation is good to go. I understand. “Mate what took you all so long!?” “Oh yeah the first officer wanted to run a checklist.” However I did notice you did go over stuff once you made it to the site, and before you lift off we’re good to go. I thought it was strange though to see the pilot to your left step out on the scene? Is there a reason that occurred? I was under the impression that with HEMS the medical personnel on board leave the aircraft? God Bless, and clear skies Sir.
Hi Kent Innes nice to hear from you again ;) Yeah, no lights blinking at the panel and gauges ok :) The second pilot stands at the place near the tail rotor for safety reasons ( the aircraft is still working for one minute before shutting off) , while our crew member goes forward with the doctor and nurse. God bless us all ;)
I can see this is important a persons life is on the line and he is taking slefies ???? but its good for him right ? Not your mom dying of a heart attack But he looks good that's the most important part
@Jennifer Ians Before making snippy comments, how about you know what's going on and who's doing what job on this helicopter. Apparently, you are blind and missed the medical crew running forward at 14:27? If time was critical, they wouldn't have shutdown the helicopter and loaded the patient(s) quickly. After, he's one of the pilots, and not an actual member of the medical staff working on the patient.

Great work! I'm a First Responder in Switzerland ;) We are dooing first aid also and work togheter with the rescue teams

3:20 to get airborne after alarm?! We have max. 90 sec. and beat that time always.
I like the way he tells his watch to politely go away @2:20 lol
that's an indication that he starts engine number 2 ;)
Mike Davies, 1977morino got the point ;) But after that, at 2:54 he gone away indeed.
3:19 min for when alarm is sounded to they are in the air. That’s insane fast response time
Weellll not really. Search for german helicopters, they´re way faster.
Nice landing!
What were the yellow caution lights that were on the CAD prior to takeoff?
As far I can remember, that was the 2nd engine starting. Long time not flying this machine :(
very cool Airbus Helicopter - EC135. nice work Alessandro Cesar :)
Tks Panter Zone Studio ;)
Igual que aqui, soy copiloto del HEMS de la ciudad de Buenos Aires
Amazing video!
Thank you
Is that a race track @ approximately 4:19
Hello from germany nice videos
Danke schön! Thanks for you comment ;)
How come they don’t wear helmets
Show...👊🏼⚡🚁
Were is that Heliport?
Great video! Did you brake the rotor in the end so that no blade is above the exhausts during engine start-up, because you released the brake a couple of times?
Hi Bernhard, thanks for watching! You´re right! That was just to stop the blades where I wanted.
Hello Alessandro, this flight is IFR or VFR? btw excellent movie, best regards!
Hi tomcio chuck! This flight was in VFR rules. Thanks for watching. Cheers ;)
Excellent Video!

next time leave out the music and just have the heli sound
verry nice clip Thank You!!
Two pilots or were you just giving the guy on the left a go?
Hi Jimmy! The left guy is a pilot. The flight to the hospital was completely in his hand.
@@alessandrocesar9197 Ah ok two pilot operation. It's mostly Single pilot HEMS here in Australia.
@@jimmymc10021 , sorry for the delay. Single pilots HEMS in many other countries too. Some missions we are single operations. Safe flights.
@@jimmymc10021 No . One is pilot the other the EMS nurse. Just more comfortable to travel the 1st leg in the cockpit.

Olá MatSciMinded ! Foi filmado em Brasília - Brasil. It was recorded in Brasília - Brazil.
A lot of dials to start it up..

Sexy aircraft, is not? Aeronave sensual, não?
Hola
*Haha a 135, heap of junk.... nothing but problems with ours*
Hi Crazy Clown. I wish you good luck and hope things go better.
Huh? I've only heard of pitot tube problems. Infact a local medivac service here got fined for not fixing a known problem with their EC135s.
I can see this is important a persons life is on the line and he is taking slefies ???? but its good for him right ? Not your mom dying of a heart attack But he looks good that's the most important part
Do not worry, that was a few security points for others HEMS operators. Meanwhile, the emergency team were doing their job. No wasting time ;)
