You always seem to have a lot of fun with what you are teaching. This falcon technique you demonstrated appears in the second palm change of the Baguazhang I practice, but I had not seen this application before. Very useful! Thanks!
Jeronimo de Carranza, Pacheco de Narváez, Gerard Thibault, (that last in French) and many others, including many in Italy, a part of which was included in the Spanish empire at the time. People say that the foil with an Italian grip is a miniature Spanish rapier. Is considered the only "internal" martial art of the West, with a heavy emphasis on math, culture, circular movement and using the energy of the opponent against him. They said that the Spanish fought like they were in a dance. There is a lot done now in HEMA. Cheers
Watching your videos is so much more entertaining that 99% of any streaming service for me. The beauty of martial application. 5:30 This correlates well with some of the reversal options given in the first wing chun form and the recovery principles of the third form when center is lost. The hand points the body adjusts.
Plus plus! Grazie. Another reason, equally important to fighting multiple attackers, to close in, displace their centre and manipulate their orientation and balance is to prevent their deployment of a weapon. Sporting dueling styles don't understand this. Leaving them space gives them the opportunity to gather resources [recruit others, get weapons, composure, energy] to attack you. Shut em down!
Ciao Dante, very interesting technique and counter! It reminds me of "la Verdadera Destreza" Spanish fencing with it's circular movement. Also you named George Xu, excellent Tai Chi master. Cheers
Ciao Peter. You've mentioned "la Verdadera Destreza" several times already and I'm curious about it. With Master George Xu, over the years, in addition to Chen style Taiji we have also studied bagua and Xinyi Liuhe.

Understood: I learnt T’ai Chi mainly under Master Chu in London (1970s/80), and still ingrained are times when to get a move exactly on point he placed my straight fingers gently at his throat, and another time when to demonstrate importance of spine straightness in sitting meditation he asked a tall student to push his shoulder and Chu flipped the guy so far he had to stop crashing through the window.. later I did some ‘rough’ Shaolin with a Malaysian guy, also in North London…just giving a quick overview of stuff so you know … stay safe be well ciao
