This is one of the best interviews I've ever seen. I normally cannot tolerate anyone interviewing Hanson lately because they initiate the interview thinking Hanson is making some elaborate comeback after 25 years. Zach, I wholeheartedly appreciate the time and sincerity you put into asking relevant and appropriate questions. You showed a genuine interest in the band, and you need to know how much the fans appreciate this.
These guys are my constant, they keep me sane in the worst moments of my life. Thank you for giving them the type of in depth and intelligent interview they deserve. 20 years of my life well spent.
In the 1990s I was in my 30s, newly divorced, and terrified. One day I heard this incredibly catchy, super tight harmony song on the radio (won't mention it's name) and it literally would snap me out of a terrible place in my head. The sheer Joie de vivre/joy of life of Hanson was infectious. I danced around the kitchen, or wherever I was. I've followed their careers in a non stalky way, ever since. I love that these guys have stayed so grounded, humble and genuinely nice. Their music makes me smile, still. Glad they are still doing what they are so good at doing.
I loved when Zach saved Tay's coffee from spilling. It may seem weird but it just shows a level of attention and care from him that touched me. I also love how thoughtful they are on 20 hours of no sleep. This was one of my favorite interviews I've seen of them!
Just used "I Was Born" as a backsong with a bunch of kids for a school performance and it bought the house down. So many people didn't even realise Hanson was still going little making great music. Watching this interview made me remember that I needed to to publicly acknowledge their awesomeness.
20:17 Zac knows to watch out for any beverage Taylor has. 😂😂 I adore these guys. They’re so talented, articulate, and passionate. There’s no band like them out there and never will be.
I would love to see this kind of interviews with Hanson more often. Their passion and desire to be the best they can be are my favorite things about them. Great job!
I wish they would talk more about what they think of MMMBop and their early success. This interview did that in some respects, but they could do it more. A lot of these interviews focus on what they're doing now, which is great and all, but what they went through with the success of MMMBop was something really special and I wish interviews would delve more into that. It's interesting to me.
I'm one of those fans with a Hanson lyric tattoo! These guys are the true embodiment of talent and have been since the start. Please expand your Hanson horizons and listen to more. Mmmbop was literally only the beginning. They're getting such great exposure this year, and rightfully so. Do yourself a favor and go see a show as well! They never disappoint. This anniversary tour was non-stop music and I loved every second of the Detroit show.
This is the highest quality, most in-depth interview of these guys I have ever seen. I have never seen them this understood and respected by an interviewer and I love it.
Before social media was a thing. Being a fan was real. It took work. Not just a share button. Insta post. In the 90s... I way different level of commitment. Hanson has part of my heart.
Wow! I’ve been a fan of Hanson, admittedly a passive one, for 20 years. Realized watching this that I never knew how articulate and passionate these guys are. This was a really insightful interview and I appreciate them even more. Can’t wait to hear more from them!
Wow... This was a great interview! Having been a devoted Hanson fan for 20 straight years, I strongly agree with all of their answers here. I'm so proud that I'm one of those who see them waaaayyyyy more than 'MmmBop'! 💖👍🇵🇭
"You want to make sure that you consider the effect that it has on everybody around and everyone that is watching". "Serving the people that care the most about what you do". What Isaac said is gold, so many artists don't give a rip what the effect of their music is on people of all ages, especially young. This kind of integrity is not just for others, it's for the good of the artist as well. How many singers get into this business so young and nobody teaches them how to handle it all and how to take care of themselves and really do something great with their talent, and not just money wise.
I'm a Hanson fan 25 years now, and I will always support them, because of their music and for who they are. I believe that very few bands today can build a connection with fans in such way :)
Amazing interview! I have been a fan since the beginning and everything they are saying here is accurate. They really do try hard to keep a good relationship with their fans. As fans we have grown to trust them. They keep us interested and always wanting more. They are incredible and so humble.
This was one of the best Interviews that I've ever seen with Hanson. I'm a huge fan of these guys and I'm glad to see such a nice and diferent conversation. Thanks! 🙋🙋🙋 #BrazilianFanson
I am almost 34 years old and I have loved them since I was 10. Seeing them in this interview and really in general still makes me smile hugely ear to ear just like it did when I was a kid. I freaking love them so much.
This is one of my favorite interviews now and I’m so glad I stumbled on it (almost 2 years late I know). I mean I’ve been a die hard fan since like 2008/9 when I was 10 years old (cause I’m from the Jonas Brothers boy band generation) and it was honestly because I had loved MMMBop when I was 2/3/4 years old that I stumbled on them. I loved the respect you guys gave them in letting them speak for 45 minutes as well as not asking them the same boring questions. Like you actually wanted answers to these deeper questions. So thank you so much, this was a great interview, I love these guys, just got done telling Zac in May that finally on the 6th annual HopJam I can go in and try their beer-I was at the first one they did and had to sit outside because I was only 16, and just I love hearing the genuineness they have towards their fans. I ramble. But this was a great interview so thank you
You've taken two of my biggest loves now and given them each an incredible interview, I can't thank you enough! Wish there'd been more people with your sense way back when, but still so pleased twenty years on to see someone giving Hanson the respectful interview they've always deserved. Thanks again, so much!!
Such intelligent men. Great interview. Been a loving fan since the beginning and it's so great how they have grown and developed right along with me. So many musical inspirations end up falling off so it's a rare treat to have a band around for almost my entire life and still going strong. Would love to sit down with these three and pick their brains. They are such well rounded, sincere individuals.
The love I have for these guys has never diminished, in fact grown since 1997. This interview was amazing. Hanson is our best kept secret without trying to be a secret because all people hear when they hear hanson is mmmbop. They are truly talented guys and have been the only constant in my life since 1997. Their music and shows have been there for me no matter what I was going through. I've seen them 30 times and truly could never express the gratitude and love I have for them.
As one of this die hard Hanson fans this interview ticked all my boxes - 1) I flew you LA to see a Finally It's Christmas show and meet up with friends I made at the Jamaican concert event from LA, Vancouver, Boston, and Denver. 2) Hearing people call Hanson a boyband has always been my trigger, and I just figured out it's cause people don't value the opinion of a group of women line Taylor was saying and that's a real game changer for me. Really enjoyed this, here's to 25 more years of Hanson.
This is the best interview that has ever been done! As a fan for the last 20 years, I am so proud of these guys and what they have accomplished and what they will continue to accomplish.
I loved this interview! The guys were eloquent, witty, and grateful for their success. This was by far the best interview I've seen of them. I could've kept watching beyond the 40 minute mark.
I loved this interview. It is difficult to touch emotional and difficult issues for Hanson that unfortunately have marked his career. I'm a fan since 97 but I've moved away from his music until a few years ago that I'm here to stay. I have to say that the opinion I have about them is the same as Taylor said, it's my opinion based on a fan and it's Hanson is undervalued! Everyone listen to their videos with more visits and continue with the others ... they are the best !. In truth, they care and consent to their fans, they are coherent in what they project, in what they are and do ... they are much more than just one great song. I love you Hanson and thank you for this interview. P.S. Zac was fed up with the interviewer (Tay knew how to respond wonderfully) I hope this clarifies the doubts to all those who are not fans. By the way, they have never left or returned, they have been there for 25 years.
Love the interview, so intelligent ... the question and the answer! 46 minutes and it looks like it has so much more to talk about. I´ll gonna watch it more times!
What a cool interview!! I have to admit it took me some days to have the time to stand here for about 40min to watch it carefully, but I've seen so many good comments about it, so of course it had to be watched! :) Totally worth it! Congrats for the sensibility on making the questions and for the professionalism on keeping it based on music (not on personal life...family, scandals, whatever...). That's one of the greatest bands that have been inspiring us for so long, we already know how smart they are. But we really would like to congratulate you guys for your great job on this interview, giving space for what matters for a musician: music, creativity, hard work. :)
Fantassstic interviewer! awesome interview, and obviously, magnificent hanson as always, thats who they are, thats what we fansons are. So happy and proud.
Serious such an awesome interview! And I’ve seen a lot in the 20 years I’ve been a fan! I’m so proud to be on this journey with their music and to be raising up the next generation of Hanson fans. My 7 yr old daughter’s favorite song is This Time Around. I think I was singing Barney songs at 7😂 I’ve seen them 4 times live and I plan on taking my kids next tour.
This interview gave me goosebumps in every level, perhaps growing up as Hanson fan who often get picked at by the stereotypical "mmmbop" reference - there are so many of their non-single/hit songs that get underestimated. For some reason, Hanson bros have mouthed every other reference that I soon have indulged from Stephen Trask's Hedwig, Whose Line and U2 (which my partner and I had discussed lately about their long years as a band). Damn...anyone notice how many times Tay slipped in quotes from their songs 😂
Amazing interview! I really have so much respect for these guys. I’ve loved them for 20 years and will definitely love them for 20 more. Thank you for asking such the tough questions. Really amazing stuff that made me appreciate and love them that much more.
I've been with they guys since I was 6. Middle of Nowhere was my first album (I still own the original copy that I had). These guys are amazing musicians and really recognise the importance of the fan base and their engagement with us is great. One day I will get to Back to the Island and Hanson day. I will somehow. I love that they have kept their shit together and didn't go off the rails. They live ordinary lives when they aren't touring. Also Zac looks exhausted. He's so quite, but then Taylor didn't really give Ike and Zac much of chance haha. Not that that is anything new lol.
Such a great interview. There needs to be more interviews like this with them, they are so much more than "those kids with long hair that sang Mmmbop" so passionate about what they do and they do it for the love of music
I like this interview. Maybe hanson and Backstreet Boys are my favourite interviews I like watching them. I like the way that Isaac voice from the beginning just like butter. Isaac ( just letting you know I'm out off the glow) I found it funny very funny. I like taylor he is my first favourite. Brian littrell is my favourite one from Backstreet Boys. I like the interviews they do. Keep it up Zach Sang. I want you to do more. I would like it if you do Westlife one day as well.
thaat's another reaon of why I have loved this band for 20 years. They are so intelligent and give the best answers to everything. I can't even express how much I admire these 3 men.
this is why i respect hanson and their fans so much coming from a fandom like the Directioners fans of one direction. we had soical media and it was just us liking their songs but buying their CDs then stream all of their songs to how many views on youtube then going to concerts. but with Hanson you fans did all the dirty work i dont know how you did it but im a new hanson fan been listening since 2017 but still learning their back story and how they became a band and successful i dont know how big they were back in 97.
; I would absolutely love to hear the boys’ thoughts on the Insane Clown Posse and the way they have only ever self promoted to their most loyal of fans. I see a lot of similarities there and would dare say Hanson might be Juggalos but they don’t know it yet!! 😂😂
11:57, Isaac Is a good people reader. I'm assuming they met at the charity sports event they did, which was indeed towards the end of Jonas brothers. Like they said in their documentary it must've been very prominent that they don't talk.
I have a question. Ike said in 41:35 that MMMBop was a song about being misunderstood. Did he mean Weird, not MMMBop? How is MMMBop about being misunderstood?
Here’s an interview w Billboard where Zac talks about Mmmbop being written from the psyche of children seeing their dreams realized and relationships dissolving at the same time, and how they’re used to people not understanding them. (Around 26:20) ruclips.net/video/bM_R48liACY/видео.html They laugh at it themselves in other interviews, saying things like...Wait, you’re three white kids from Oklahoma singing James Brown and all these other influences, especially getting those puzzled reactions when they broke on a scene dominated by grunge and rock. They don’t complain about it, but their experience of it shows up in their art like any other life experience. And like they say in this interview, those that understand them are excited to click with them and their music, like they’re in the right place.
Thought most questions were original, but they could have given the guys s break maybe. It felt a bit like they had to defend and overthink too much their music phenomenon at times.
nope he is still happily married he just doesnt like wearing his ring on the finger so he wears it as a necklace instead. all of them are happily married.
This is one of the best interviews I've ever seen. I definitely second this!

Heather D I was a similar age with the same situation. Their song was such a fun, uplifting moment at that time for me.
I loved when Zach saved Tay's coffee from spilling. It may seem weird but it just shows a level of attention and care from him that touched me. I also love how thoughtful they are on 20 hours of no sleep. This was one of my favorite interviews I've seen of them!
Tay had a lot of trust in that cup🤣

Yes! Agreed! Life long fan, as well. ❤️

The Osmonds are fan lovers. They are so down to earth.

they need to do another interview with hanson real soon because they have a new single out now.
This was an amazing long interview, I’m on of those fans with their lyrics tattooed on me. It’s still real
Me too. What do you have? I have "I find hope and it gives me rest" on my wrist.

Yo does Zac eat his scab off his hand at the very end?😂 I mean it’s fine cuz he can literally do no wrong but I died laughing
So proud of my babies
Awww Isaac keeps getting interrupted
I completely understood the Flash Reference.. lol.
